I'll preface this by saying that this comic is based on me and @crumpet-doodles 's six layer deep headcanon echochamber, and thus is a little out there in some places !!

essentially, both bee and shockwave/longarm indulge in selfharm in the form of cutting the rubber casings on their arms or wheels/treads

shockwave is prone to carving the rubber layer off his arms until he reaches the metal beneath and begins to bleed. usually, cuts on rubber are almost impermanent and are hard to see, but shocks had done it enough times and with enough pressure for them to be visible if you knew what to be looking for, especially whenever his arms are extended or bent

bee on the contrary is the type to cut verrryy very shallow and does it very rarely. never once has he applied enough pressure to bleed through his dense rubber, any and all "scars" he has from doing this can easily be excused as normal wear and tear. they aren't really visible anyway

this comic specifically takes place some time after longarm is revealed to be shockwave

the idea is that bumblebee, while seeking the usual stress relief from cutting, is reminded of longarm because of their similar methods and scarring. frightened by the implication of being more like a decepticon, bee spirals and eventually comes to the conclusion that using a different method would keep him from stooping down to shockwaves level

bee tries a method that involves scratching at internal plating or glass, but because he doesn't know what hes doing, or what to avoid, he ends up snagging an important piece of tubing and starts to bleed. legitimately injuring himself to the point of needing medical attention

we have ideas on what happens before and after this scenario, but thats the gist of it!! bumblebee torment.. :3c
