I have a problem, one I think everyone in the g/t community has had. At my school, the end-of-year project, which is robotics instead of science, involves programming a game in Scratch that "solves a problem interactively."In short, the game is narrated from a human perspective—it says—while mistreating an insect. The twist is that the other perspective is that of the humanized insect. The goal of the game is for children to develop empathy, even towards insects.This kind of thing has become so commonplace for me that I barely realize when I think, "Oh my god! I'm creating a game g/t that my classmates, students I don't know, and teachers are going to play. Awesome!" 🤡🤡How embarrassing. Why are we always so ashamed to talk about these things?
