We were asked to help our client brand the actual number 13 that will be used in the Times Square New Years countdown. Four stickers were made out of a 3M vinyl sticker material to help our client brand the Phillips, Inc. logo on the number 13 for this year’s event.
In just 13 days it will be 2013. The upcoming year means preparations for the annual ball drop in Times Square. Thousands of people come together in the iconic area in Manhattan and millions watch from around the world to see the moment when humans declare the year of 2012 over. On Wednesday the numbers were unveiled at the Times Square Museum & Visitor Center. With a fun press conference that could have anyone superstitious a bit nervous, the countdown to 2013, which started Wednesday, official was 13 days before the famous ball will drop for all to see. The 7-foot numerals each were covered with bulbs and are ready to be installed for the holiday season. While the Christmas holiday is first, the numbers won’t be placed on the skyscraper until next week. This means folks can see the numbers on display at the Times Square Museum & Visitor Center by 47th Street and 7th Avenue until the big signs are carted up the elevators and placed for the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations. Before the ball drops and the numbers light up, the world will be watching New York City to hear a number of stars perform in the brisk air and share a moment together ushering in 2013.
