âThatâ was something I definitely donât need a visual image of,â Eric said as he shook his head, pretending to actually shake off any image Serena had planted inside his mind. Back in New York, the house had already been packed enough with five teenagers and his mom and Bart all under the same roof, but with family joining in for the holidays, there was only so much Eric could take. It was a big beach house, and Eric cherished family, but sometimes it was just too much. âIâm so happy I slept in,â he said with a big grin as he looked at his sister, whoâd had to suffer through the cheek pinching marathon on her own. âYes, coffee, and then we can hit the beach. Iâve been really wanting to build a sandcastle,â he said, never letting go of his child side.
âYou owe me and before you say anythingâno, macarons from François Payard will not suffice as compensation.â Serena insisted, rubbing her cheek for emphasis of the ordeal. âThat sounds perfect Eric!â The slight burn sheâd suffered initially from the Hamptonsâ harsh sunlight had only just faded to a tan, but the thought of spending an evening with her brother could be anywhere and still seem appealing. âComing?â She added quickly, pinching his cheek like one would a babyâs and jumping up from the bed before he could get her back.Â
