Molly sighed. She couldn’t go any faster, wings already tired and almost screaming at her if they could. She flew towards the ground and bit her lip, flying a bit unsteady as her wigs threatened to give out and she had to stop them, landing in the sand softly

Her grin brightened at his words and as he took the chest from her. “You’re going to have to open it and find out.” It wasn’t anything too terrible. Just a box full of spiders ready to jump out and crawl all over him.

Her grin made him feel uneasy. His gut told him that the very thing in his hands was a prank. Placing the chest on the ground, Phoenix’s feet left the solid dirt beneath him as he hovered above. He took out his dagger, an object he’d received from his father, and something he never went anywhere without. 

He poked the chest with the dagger, waiting for some sort of reaction, before using the dagger to flip the latch and open the chest lid wide. He backed off in a hurry, seeing a mass of spiders within the wooden object.
