The Nanny, 5x07 - “Mommy and Mai”

“I don’t have a choice, do I…?” Lily asked, biting down on the tip of her thumb.

And there in lay his problem. He didn’t stop to think. He just did. “Evalina,” he said softly, not sure if anything else he said would make her more upset with him. He had to think of something to make it up to her. He just had to find someone who could give him some sort of help.

“I’m fine. Let’s just forget it.” Evalina mumbled, standing up and dusting herself off. Her face was void of emotion, designed so no one could tell what she was thinking or feeling.

He didn’t know what to do. He could tell that she was upset. “What are we suppose to do? I know it’s hard to hide us being together, but what about your crew? What would they think? Don’t you think they’d pull a mutiny? What about our parents? If they found out, do you really think your dad would be pleased that you’re dating a Pan?” He was trying desperately, but he no longer knew if he was trying to convince her, or justify hiding. His father would be disappointed to find out that he son was hiding from anything.

Phoenix leaned down, and placed a gentle kiss on her nose. “This is going to be a lot more difficult than normal.” In Neverland, it was easy enough to avoid the others. In London, even easier.

“Bet we could make it even cozier.“ He suggested as he stepped closer to her, his hands moving to her hips. “It’s the perfect hideaway.“

Phoenix stayed behind for a moment, watching her enter the cave’s entrance. After a few minutes, and making sure no one was around, he followed after her. “Cozy.” He was now standing behind her, having landed at the entrance. 

Phoenix easily kept up with her, raising his hands up in feigned surrender. “I wouldn’t want to ruin your ‘drawings’,” he said as he tried to measure her reactions. “You shouldn’t take things so seriously.”
