i’m literally on the clock rn. but my mind keeps wandering to the boss holding her baby seconds after he was born. her face stained with tears from the pain of being ripped apart in an active war zone, but having a moment of sweetness in the fray. looking down at her baby boy, seeing her own eyes looking back at her, hearing him cry and trying to soothe him by rubbing a shaky hand across his soft and flushed cheek. just before greedy hands tore him away from her forever.

Thinks about The Boss canonically being the first human in space. She saw the earth from space, as it truly is, with no borders visible at all. Not divided, but one complete whole. Mother Earth. This clearly affected her deeply. It informs her entire ideology going forward. It's who she is. But she was the only one who saw it. And nobody else understands.
