Revlon Matte Lipstick Strawberry Suede is back - 016 Paradise Pink

I experienced a moment of mild euphoria today in the drugstore when I saw a shade on the Revlon rack that reminded me of an old fave.

Back in 2010, when Revlon’s Matte Lipsticks were all the rage (and nobody was wearing all these matte liquid lipsticks), they sold a short-lived shade called 005 Strawberry Suede. I remember seeing Lisa Eldridge talk about her obsession with the discontinued shade, but it was nowhere to be found where I lived, so when I saw it in Boots in Bangkok during a 2012 work trip, I snapped up the only two tubes in store.

Strawberry Suede is what I’d call a perfect Summery “watermelon” color. A bright warm red-coral with slight undertones of pink. Not a flat matte like we’re used to these days, but more of a silky weightless satin. Deeper than MAC Impassioned, and brighter/warmer than MAC Relentlessly Red.

Apparently Revlon quietly re-instated the shade around 2015 and renamed it, because 016 Paradise Pink is pretty much identical. But not every drugstore carries this color locally so if you’re in Singapore, your safest bet is to shop directly from the Revlon Singapore flagship store on Lazada here.
