Felonius Gru vs Megamind (Despicable Me vs Megamind)
Release Date: 3rd of May
Link: https://youtu.be/_7FCmmFi8VUÂ
Mini-review: The analyses were really underwhelming from a vs perspective, mentioning very few of their weaponry and providing exactly 1 feat (which didnât even get brought up again, so why calc it?) The fight was a bit rough around the edges, but there were nice moments to it like the Megamind brainbot mech. But that conclusion⌠What even was that conclusion⌠Both sides got downplayed hard, a huge amount of their arsenal either wasnât even brought up or brushed off (including some surprisingly basic things), and there was a wide variety of just straight up flawed arguments littered throughout. Definitely the worst episode this year so far, and the first outright middling episode.
Nexus Battles
Kyogre vs Chaos (Pokemon vs Sonic the Hedgehog)
Release Date: 3rd of May
Link: https://youtu.be/aIcrXfR1j14Â
Mini-review: 2 new voices thrown in alongside the previous ones. The previous issues regarding audio clarity are still there with the old voices, but of the new voices one has a pronounced echo effect that makes it hard to hear, and the other⌠Sounds like AI but is actually clearly audible - Iâll leave it up to you to decide whether thatâs an upgrade or a downgrade. I will say they probably could have given the loser some more scaling if for no other reason than to make the debate a little closer than it was. The actual fight, if you can get past the extremely low budget, was pretty nice, and Angel Island being used was a nice set piece to avoid making the fight arena nothing but a static ocean. I will say I find some ability inclusions/exclusions a bit questionable, but overall I do agree with the provided kits.
What If?
Clover vs Jack Kennedy (Undertale Yellow vs Dayshift at Freddyâs)
Release Date: 16th of May
Link: https://youtu.be/U-pCc6Z2MPYÂ
Mini-review: Cloverâs analysis did a good job delving into the story of Undertale Yellow, and the different options presented by the different choices. Jackâs analysis⌠did a good job at presenting the insanity of this parody game, which led to a feeling of whiplash in the transition (and left me missing the fact that there even were multiple routes until the conclusion. The fight sequence had nice moments and gags mixed in, but when it resorted to text on screen the text moved by a little too quickly to read without pausing (and I tend to be a fast reader, so I imagine itâs a bigger problem for others) - I know these are a result of not having the time/budget for full fight animations, but if youâre gonna include them Iâd rather they last a little bit longer to minimise the impact on the pacing.
That all being said, their rules about how they do scaling seem odd, and it shows in the conclusion when they routinely dismiss feats for being outliers, which just isnât something Iâm a fan of, itâs always a route that can lead to unnecessary subjectivity (in a hobby thatâs inherently subjective, I knowâŚ), and in this case suggesting Clover is stronger by all monsters by virtue of being a human is a direct violation of rule 6 (which I only mention because itâs not going to change the result).
Lastly, Iâm a bit confused on why Flowey and Afton were even in the analyses nor animation, since they seemed like non-factors in terms of the fight itself?
Fan Battle
Lusamine vs RagyĹ KiryĹŤin (Pokemon vs Kill La Kill)
Release Date: 17th of May
Link: https://youtu.be/fuktq3AtgkMÂ
Mini-review: I was hopeful theyâd be switching to full animations after Superman vs Scarlet King, but weâre back to the text on-screen while characters speak dialogue, oh well. This episode is fine for the most part, but some parts of the conclusion left me⌠really confused, in ways I canât get into without spoiling the winner.
Showoff Showdown
Rottytops vs Janey Belle (Shantae: Half-Genie Hero vs Zombie Tramp)
Release Date: 23rd of May
Link: https://youtu.be/Yh8SmSkOYwMÂ
Mini-review: Hopefully thisâll get fixed in a re-upload, but the audio for the announcer voice was in the left audio channel only for 90% of the video, which made it difficult to focus on what was said. Besides that, the episode seemed fine, the animation was a neat sprite battle, but it felt very static on account of neither side really taking any damage until the end and the environment being one static background with no changes. The debate aspect seemed fine, though it would sometimes dig into questionable arguments to support the character deemed the loser.
Realm of Gods
Kazuya vs Wesker (Tekken vs Resident Evil)
Release Date: 29th of May
Link: https://youtu.be/zaF5Apl2aakÂ
Mini-review: The analyses were pretty good, giving a solid idea of what these characters are like from an outsider perspective, though I do feel like they couldâve brought up more calculations for feats, especially speed. The battle was pretty neat, but it feels like itâs missing a final phase for True Devil Kazuya vs, uh, âmore infectedâ Albert Wesker. But the conclusion feels really weird, starting with a skill category and then giving an intelligence category that doesnât really talk about Albertâs in-battle intelligence (especially weird after just going over skill). Then lastly talking about Devil Gene vs Ouroboros virus as a category but itâs actually a skill category, which fails to really point out one kind of important detail that I canât bring up without spoiling the winner. Itâs not outright bad, the overall arguments make sense, but it is rather weird.
Nexus Battles
Dexter vs Jimmy Neutron (Dexterâs Laboratory vs Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius)
Release Date: 30th of May
Link: https://youtu.be/eQszdm3xYZIÂ
Mini-review: So the repeating issue about having the cohost voice filters that are inaudible? Thatâs been partially fixed, the main voice is still hard to make out, but the other voice that was even harder has been swapped out with a new character who has a much clearer voice. So that alone already makes this a lot better of a watch (since you kind of really want to hear whatâs being said for vs stuff).
As for the episode itself⌠Yeah itâs pretty good with the budget in mind. The fight has enough creative tools to feel like theyâre inventors using invention while still escalating in scope. The conclusion seems wrong at first, not helped by the category system really not favouring this matchup, but as they get their point out the more sense it winds up making.
Death Battle
Yuji vs Denji (Jujutsu Kaisen vs Chainsaw Man)
Release Date: 31st of May
Link: https://www.youtu.be/S4my56JWZJEÂ
Mini-review: The analyses were pretty good this time, giving a clear idea of their characters, abilities, and statistics while still keeping the whole thing feel focused. The fight, too, was pretty fun, with wild kinetic energy and some great jokes that felt like the characters the analyses built them up as. Conclusion was also mostly well done, though there are some complaints I wouldnât say any of them change the verdict - helps that this is an episode where the category system works out well for.

Bane vs Rhino (Batman: Vengeance of Bane vs The Amazing Spider-Man)
Release Date: 1st of April
Link: https://youtube.com/watch?v=Wt0RYXEYKj4
Mini-review: I canât tell if the chainscaling is an April Foolâs gag or not, but if it is itâs a well done gag, getting both of them to universal despite mainly being the villains of street level superheroes. The voice filters need more tweaking, and the fight animation could have probably been sped up in areas, but on the whole this was a pretty good episode by this showâs standards.
Debate Club
Rin Itoshi vs Super Creek (Blue Lock vs Umamusume)
Release Date: 1st of April
Link: https://youtube.com/watch?v=gGTo9nxZRNIÂ
Mini-review: Absolutely an April Foolâs episode, and it shows. A random matchup whose only connection is sports media aces, and the animation that absolutely lives up to the, ahem, theme of the episode, this was absolutely hilarious.
Death Battle
Bakugo vs Reze (My Hero Academia vs Chainsaw Man)
Release Date: 5th of April
Link: https://youtube.com/watch?v=RcaAXvAAWboÂ
Mini-review: Uh yeah it was pretty neat. The MU only has one basic connection, and as a result it didnât feel like the analyses could really tie into each other well, but they were otherwise pretty good. The fight itself was pretty good and flashy, and was well paced. I do gotta question one scene where Reze kills two random citizens, though - it seemed nonsensical since she seemingly already healed off of biting Bakugo. The conclusion was as expected, doing its best to make the matchup seem fairer than it really is.
Can you believe we got a matchup over a Twitter slander war?
Rewind Rumble
Red Hulk vs Knuckles (Marvel Cinematic Universe vs Sonic the Hedgehog (film))
Release Date: 8th of April
Link: https://youtube.com/watch?v=nUb2-vX0oysÂ
Mini-review: Uh yeah itâs fine. The analyses did a fine job running over these characters with simplistic abilities (especially relative to their primary counterparts, a comics character and a videogame character). The fight wasnât anything special, but I did like how they did something with the fight mainly taking place in two static locations by making terrain damage slowly stack up over the course of the fight. The conclusion seemed extremely clearcut, though I donât like how they didnât actually give any numbers for strength of speed, just broad categories. Like, without spoiling the winner, both were put at continental ap as a high end, but of the commonly accepted range for continental, the range can be as large as 5.8 times, and who has which end of that could be huge (oh, and itâd be good for checking the math they used to reach that conclusion as well).
Nebula Theatre
Subaru vs Kauma (Re:Zero vs Konosuba)
Release Date: 10th of April
Link: https://youtube.com/watch?v=kH_XA_aKjs4Â
Mini-review: The analyses were fine, quite long but they kind of looked like they needed to be with how much both characters had, since despite the name itâs more of a 2v2 fight, and both had a long list of magic and spells. The fight was chaotic and frenzied, with a lot of fun mixing of abilities thrown in. That being said, I feel like there really wasnât much debate behind this, well, debate, and the winner was ultimately something that I saw coming a mile away just from this episode.

Mini-review: The episode is riddled with technical issues, but if you can look past those itâs an improvement over prior Nexus Battles. The voice filters are⌠not great, but theyâre getting to the point where I can mostly make out what theyâre saying. The actual battle is a sprite battle with visual effects clearly drawn on top, but for what it was it was a fine battle. Hoping to see them continue to improve in the future.
Fan War!!!
Thanos vs Doomsday (the Invincible Iron Man vs Superman: the Man of Steel)
Release Date: 1st of March
Link: https://youtu.be/qGX-UUOYuWIÂ
Mini-review: I think the analyses did a really good job in introducing these characters and using their feats and abilities to showcase how dangerous and devastating they can be, and takes a moment to actually dig into just how unstoppable they are for entirely different reasons. And while the fight was primarily punchy punch focusing on their raw power, it did still manage to include how their hax comes to their benefit, including in the kill itself.
As an aside, when checking their origins I was really surprised to see that Thanosâs debut was in an Iron Man comic? Like heâs basically the face of cosmic threats but he first shows up on the (relatively) grounded sci-fi superhero?
Death Battle!
Cell vs Metal Sonic (Dragon Ball vs Sonic the Hedgehog)
Release Date: 8th of March
Link: https://youtu.be/qSLfaMncl_wÂ
Mini-review: A really good episode despite the matchup. Cellâs analysis did a great job building him up as a monster, and Metal Sonicâs analysis did a great job at slowly unveiling its individuality, and the danger thatâs posed as a result. The fight was really sick, having Cell take the upper hand in the first half, only to flip it around once Metal Sonic copied his biodata, ending in a relatively even clash at Cellâs arena. And as for scaling, itâs definitely pretty decent (the first Sonic episode where I donât have any complaints about the scaling, even if itâs still not where Iâd put them personally), and the arguments presented for advantages and the like were put very succinctly.

Vs Shows I missed:
Sprite Fight
Gru vs Megamind (Despicable Me vs Megamind)
Release Date: 29th of June, 2025
Link: https://youtu.be/Xtb0dC-qIaIÂ
Mini-review: The analyses did a good job overall at detailing the arcs of these characters over their initial films (while mostly ignoring the lower quality sequels both had), I do feel some improvements couldâve been made (like, for example, mentioning that Gru adopted those three girls as part of his plan instead of just vague saying that he used them to sell robot cookies). The fightâs technical limitations are self-evident, but given what little there was to work with there was a pretty good job at detailing his strengths. I do feel like nothing from Megamindâs sequel film and tv show was used from an analysis perspective, which (despite the infamous quality) was still disappointing to see, though it shouldnât change the result.
Yes this is a year old, but the fact remains that Iâve missed this series entirely until now, so the most recent episode gets its moment to shine all the same.

Mini-review: A pretty standard episode of Death Battle. Good, but not outstanding. Feels lackluster only because last yearâs line-up was outstanding. The analysis portions for each character was a fine blend between story and vs information, but outside of slick editing wasnât outstanding. The fight animation was a pretty nice sprite fight with a good flow that tours through their worlds - but once again, isnât outstanding. The conclusion was a pretty concise and very clear-cut dive into who won and why. So yeah, pretty good.
Cartoon Fight Club
Marigi vs Shadow (Battle of Sprites vs Sonic: Nazo Unleashed)
Release Date: February 20th
Link: https://youtube.com/watch?v=PdauOQCRK3AÂ
Mini-review: While we got some stats shared for Shadic, the actual analysis part of the analysis was pretty barebones (no stats for Marigi, and no abilities beyond generally mentioning Hyper Shadic for Shadic), which makes that aspect of it feel very lacking. That being said, the actual animation was pretty nice, coming across as the action packed sprite fights that youâve probably seen randomly scattered across the web (Iâm saying that in a good way, not a sarcastic way). So overall Iâd say pretty decent.
Rewind Rumble
Dio Over Heaven vs Arceus (JoJoâs Bizarre Adventure vs Pokemon)
Release Date: February 20th
Link: https://youtube.com/watch?v=a8Q-bk8DWzIÂ
Mini-review: The analyses and conclusions sport a lot of editing flubs, primarily outtakes that arenât removed and arguments and points being repeated multiple times in a row, the guest host even says the wrong show name in the intro. And that conclusion really struggles to explain why the fight is so one sided, taking quite a while to actually get to that point. The fight itself is decent, but Iâm really not a fan of the Arceus VA for this, especially when Dio often isnât voiced at all (and I have a mild suspicion that what is voiced is just re-used voice clips, though I canât confirm without speaking Japanese).
Realm of Gods
Springtrap vs Junko Enoshima (Five Nights at Freddyâs vs Danganronpa)
Release Date: 27th of February
Link: https://youtu.be/vVH8np-jEikÂ
Mini-review: This really didnât seem like a close fight, it just seems like the winning character not only took every single meaningful advantage, but hard countered everything the loser could bring to the table. That being said, the analysis portion did a good job at highlighting the connections these characters had, and the animation sequence did a fine job showcasing their varied abilities, even if the kill seemed to contradict their conclusion (Iâd get into why if it didnât spoil the winner, for obvious reasons).

Character Clash
Mewtwo vs Black Wargreymon (Pokemon vs Digimon)

Mini-review: Thanks, YouTube. So glad I can rely on your subscription system to put the videos I subscribed into my subscription box. Iâve taken some measures to better catch future episodes going up, so hopefully this shouldnât happen again.
As for the actual review, it was alright - the analyses were fine, and did get into what connections these two characters had. Though it did make it pretty obvious who was going to win. The animation felt a bit sluggish, unfortunately, and they really didnât do much at all with the various powers these two characters had. I did like the bit about the fight transitioning to Cerulean City, though, that was pretty funny.

Mini-review: These are some good analyses, focusing on the common thread of how over-the-top these two armies are for what should be relatively simple foes to defeat, slowly building up just how absurd their tools are before reaching universal numbers. The animation is a little jank (namely in the technical quality), but beyond that I think itâs got an alright flow (even if I needed to watch it twice to fully understand what was going on), and had a nice and silly ending to it. Also donât think I didnât catch the references to Hulk vs Godzilla, hahah.

Godzilla vs Dr. Robert Bruce Banner/Hulk (Godzilla vs the Incredible Hulk)
Release Date: January 9th
Link: https://youtu.be/nafL-bzg_6wÂ
Mini-review: The sound design is awful. Like, ruins the animation awful. It constantly sounds like the audio equipment cannot handle the volume it was recorded at and then everything was lowered in post, and it makes it audibly uncomfortable to listen to even at the lowest volume. The actual animation was decent, but if you want to watch it Iâd seriously recommend watching it on mute until the KO screen appears (and even then, the audio problems return during the post analysis). As for the scaling, it not only goes all in on crossover scaling, but also makes the mistake of assuming these crossover DC/Marvel characters are ostensibly the same as their regular versions (and thus equivalent in power). It also seems to be rather generous towards Godzilla and strict against Hulk, especially with it using author statements comparing Godzilla to non-Godzilla characters.

Superman vs the Scarlet King (Action Comics vs SCP Foundation)
Release Date: January 11th
Link: https://youtu.be/ek095f6eHcoÂ
Mini-review: Before I start, I am aware that Superman vs the Scarlet King originated within the community as a spite matchup against Superman, with the only connection being a representation of good vs evil. That being said, I think this episode did a good job on focusing on that ultimate representation of good vs evil in both the analysis and the animation. And the animation interweaves a sideplot focusing on the fate of the girl that SCP classified as SCP-231 without distracting from the fight as a whole.
And hey, itâs fully animated this time! Huzzah! With multiple animation styles being used, even.

Mini-review: Two edgy characters fighting is the connection. Yep. I didnât really like the fight animation, felt extremely stiff, V says absolutely nothing, and Shadowâs VA sounds like heâs attempting to do a Keanu Reeves impression but not hitting the mark. And, uh⌠I donât know how to bring up the scaling without spoiling the winner, but it sure is⌠uh, the scaling of all time.

Ash Ketchum vs Yugi Moto (Pokemon: the Series vs Yu-Gi-Oh)
Release date: 7th of December
Link: https://youtu.be/kb8NUVIYWs0Â
Mini-review: A wild battle, and did a pretty good job showcasing just how radically different Ash and Yugiâs battle styles are, and just how many options both of them have on hand. Not sure if I agree with ALL of the scaling, but none of it should affect the overall result. It was a bit chaotic just due to the sheer volume of characters involved on both sides, though.
Cartoon Fight Club
Mario & Sonic vs Crash and Spyro (Super Mario Bros. & Sonic the Hedgehog vs Crash Bandicoot & Spyro the Dragon)
Release date: 22nd of December
Link: https://youtu.be/kIUvzbQNaMsÂ
Mini-review: The animated fight was pretty decent, though Iâm not a fan of the Spyro sprite they used, and the fight was mostly two 1v1s with a very short 2v2 as the climax. But the scaling⌠Most characters didnât even get a speed scaling until the post-analysis - and one of them didnât get a strength scaling at all outside of âstronger than his opponentâ. And what strength scaling they did get was incredibly lowballed, to the extent that the strongest feat listed in the episode is lower than the lowest highball any of these characters get.
And the different analysis segment was a bit hit or miss; I liked the more casual flow but it felt like it made some segments sluggishly paced. Lastly, I donât like how much this episode relied on âview these older episodes for our verdicts thereâ, to the point that Mario and Sonicâs analyses both individually had preambles saying âfeel free to skip with how often they get someâ. Makes it feel like the research was just re-used instead of, well, re-analysed.
First mini-analysis to require more than 1 paragraph, hahah.
Fictional Characters Collide
Monkey D. Luffy vs Natsu Dragneel (One Piece vs Fairy Tail)
Release date: 25th of December
Link: https://youtu.be/qzTkOd1W0LsÂ
Mini-review: It was pretty neat, the long length of the analyses seemed fitting considering how much story both characters had to cover, and the sprite fight was alright. However, Iâm not sure I agree with their claim of it being a close fight, with the arguments they presented.
Truth be told, I might need to rewatch it to get a better sense of it, but due to circumstances irl, Iâm not given as much time as usual to give this video its proper dues.

Mini-review: Itâs⌠exactly what youâd expect. Iâm not even sure if this counts as a âproperâ vs show episode, but there are some stats and abilities given, so⌠I guess. Flashing lights warning for the beginning of the fight animation.

DIY VS #3: Room of Swords vs TwoKinds (and bonus survey on the next indie MU you'd like to see!)
Destructive Indie Yard #3:
Room of Swords vs TwoKinds
---
Introduction
Gyrus Axelei
(Room of Swords)
The Strawberry Astronaut
Vs
Trace Legacy
(TwoKinds)
The Former Grand Templar
These two men have had to learn of the sins their past selves committed while dealing with their unique, overwhelming power. But if they fought each other, whose past gives them the greater tools to come out on top?
Please note that there will be spoilers for both Room of Swords and TwoKinds, if you have not read those series and wish not to be spoiled, please stop reading this document and read them. For those who have read both series and/or are unbothered by spoilers, read on.
Read Room of Swords here (disclaimer: due to the way Boss Swords work, there is imagery present that some may find disturbing for its resemblance to suicide).
Note: the above link might be inactive, as Toonimated announced that the original Room of Swords comic was made unavailable on the 30th of October (although you can still find it on less official sites if you know where to look). While the above link is preserved for transparencyâs sake (assuming any entries have been preserved via the wayback machine or equivalent), you can find the link to the remastered release right here.
My sincerest apologies for any issues potentially caused by this transition, I hope the images left on our calculations will suffice for now. I am not making any promises that weâll revisit this matchup in the future, but if we do, it will not be done until the remastered comic is complete. We also acknowledge that Toonimated has the full right to take down their original webcomic for the remastered one, and am eager to see how they improve upon it as the updates release - this is just a case of unfortunate timing.
Read TwoKinds here (disclaimer: TwoKinds features allegorical racism, (non-explicit) nudity, and sexual references).

Full name: Gyrus Axelei
Age: 25 (chronologically 36)
Gender: male
Occupation: Astronaut
Relationship status: dating Kodya
Welcome⌠Hopelessly lost souls, to the beginning of your journey. Youâve been chosen to conquer this world where past and future fuse. Your trial awaits: complete the Room of Swords. And open the gate to freedom. Some of you will not survive. But if you are afraid to die⌠You will fail.
That was the message everyone heard upon waking up on Voyage 34. Everyone, that is, except for Gyrus, an astronaut from the year 2545, who woke up hours later. On a hostile alien planet, with nothing but his robot companion Scout for company, Gyrus didnât know if even the air around him was safe to breathe.
Unbeknownst to him, this wasnât his first trip around the alien planet, but rather his 34th. Seeing the footprints of his past self and mistaking them for his captainâs, Gyrus followed along until he found a piece of a broken sword, and Victoria, a knight from a medieval era.
Given he was not a fighter, Gyrus was forced to rely on her for protection, and his wits to keep himself safe. His drone, Scout, could scan other objects and creatures, and create holographic copies. And, once he knew it was safe to take off his astronaut suit, his jump boots could allow him to jump out of danger.
> Calculated to allow him to move at a speed of 350 metres per second, and he has reacted to threats while travelling at this speed.
But as he met up with other people caught in this Voyage â including Kodya, a Russian soldier from the year 1812 who seemed to know Gyrus â he soon discovered that he wasnât as helpless as he thought.
Everyone in this world had a strange power, unique to them. Gyrusâs was the power of the mind. Telekinesis, energy barriers, energy projection, enhancing his punches, he could even let others borrow his power â all using MP to cast. And if he lacked MP⌠Well, he could use his own health instead. Over time, Gyrus was left to slowly discover his potential through his time in Voyage 34.
And, as Kodya stabbed him with a broken Boss Sword, heâd find himself awake in Voyage 35, with all of his memories and powers passed over. It was only through a Boss Sword that he could carry over into a new Voyage â a new variant of the time loop â without being reset to how he was when he first woke up. Wherever he was, he needed to find the missing Boss Sword pieces and put them together in order to get out of here.
And that wasnât all the Boss Sword could do, anyone who touches it for the first time gains a new power to call their own, and can grow in power the same way the rest of the crew can. And Gyrus could safely store it away in his âinventoryâ, the same place he stores his healing food, mana restoring muffins, and his companion Scout.
And, as he learnt more about what was going on, he also learnt more about himself. He was someone important to Kodya, someone very important. But he had betrayed the group from wherever he was going, and took the other Boss Swords away before dying in this realm.
And his past self wasnât quite as gone as either of them had thought. The old Gyrusâs power over the mind was so great, in fact, that he made a loophole to break through the cycle of resetting in Voyages. He could shuffle his own memories into the one part of his mind thatâs preserved between trips, which he dubbed the Black Box, to keep them safe. Then, all he needed to awaken his past self is to dive into the Black Box once more, and fuse together.
Gyrus came to learn of the terrible things his past self did, including betraying the group to the Shadows â darkened figures that only Gyrus and the Boss Swords could harm, and people possessed by Shadows remained as such even through the Voyages.
Shadows that had come back to take Kodya, leaving him with no choice. He called for help from his past self, and his past self delivered, with the signature technique only possible with a Boss Sword â his Breaking Point.
Gyrusâs was called Event Horizon â like a black hole â and just the mere act of activating it creates a massive shockwave.
> Shockwave is calculated to be equivalent to 258 tons of TNT. Given he is at itâs epicentre, Gyrus should scale.
Anything caught within its range is then subject to the very laws of physics being broken⌠like a black hole. Unlike a black hole, however, instead of just being crushed to nothing, Gyrus could control what was inside. All matter, all energy, and even⌠souls. He pulled Kodyaâs soul inside of himself to save him and his comatose body.
As Gyrus and friends brought Kodya back to the central hub of this area â dubbed the Room of Swords â he was locked up by the leader Don and head enforcer Ragan, who had powers over lightning and super speed.
> Ragan is calculated to move at 413 metres per second.
In imprisonment, forced to speak with his past self, and slowly learn of his history.
And he learnt the identity of the Shadows within the Room of Swords. Masiosare. Himself, from a potential future. Here to destroy the Room of Swords and everyone in it, so that he can destroy a threat to the universe itself. Gyrus, facing the potential devastation of his future self, made peace with his past self and fused with him to stop his future.
And in doing so, gained all of the knowledge that he had before. His experience traversing the various realms within the Room of Swords, his leadership talents, his expertise on his spells, and⌠his past romance with Kodya.
In the end he defied the future that was meant to be, leading to there being no more Masiosare, and escaping the Room of Swords with his friends.
But so did the very reality warping being the Room of Swords was made to contain. Gyrus, now back home, teamed up with his captain Iro and began jumping through time, learning about his mother (who had unknowingly drank a bad luck potion before he was born), and discovering a greater secret.
The Room of Swords encompassed reality itself.
The only way to truly escape would be to start the universe itself all over again.
Gyrus couldnât do that alone. Nobody could do that alone.
But, together If everyone wanted to start anew in a new universe
In the end, Gyrus woke up in a new world, where everything was finally just peaceful. He could just relax, enjoy life with his boyfriend Kodya, and look to the future with hope.

Full name: Trace Legacy
Age: 24 (3-6 months post-amnesia)
Gender: male
Occupation: Grand Templar (position currently contested)
Relationship status: currently engaged to Flora of the Rainforest Tigers, widowed husband of Saria Legacy
It was a beautiful, sunny day, the wind was blowing, the sun was shining, and the forest was full of life.
And, as the man was waking up during that morning, in the middle of the forest, he found that it was the only thing he could remember. Before he could think anymore about that, he heard someone yell out for help. And so he took his only possession â a sword â and ran to see the commotion.
And, as he defended this catgirl from the rough bandit, he quickly learnt who he was. Well, at the most basic level. Trace Legacy, Grand Templar.
Wait, seriously? Trace Legacy? Thatâs his name? My man was destined to become an amnesiac!
And as it turns out, his name wasnât the only thing he had forgotten. He forgot his girlfriend, his âbest friendâ, and he forgot everything about Keidran â the anthropomorphic animals that lived on the world of Mekkan alongside humans â a race of people he supposedly hated. They came in all kinds of species, wolf, dog, cat, snow leopard, and tiger â like Flora here.
Okay, that was either the most intense burst of amnesia ever, or the story needed a way to justify giving basic exposition about the world.
Regardless, with his absent memories, he wound up travelling with the Keidran he saved, Flora, helping her to return to Keidran lands. Shortly afterwards another race joined his party, a Basitin by the name of Keith â basitins are another anthropomorphic race, but not based on any particular species of animal.
Flora and Keithâs meeting didnât exactly go off to a great start⌠But itâs through that rocky start did Trace discover what made him the Grand Templar in the first place. His unparalleled mastery over magic. Telekinesis, magic barriers, healing, short range teleportation, elemental control, illusions. If itâs a common spell (relative to mages, that is), itâs safe to assume he knows how to cast it. Even if he⌠doesnât REMEMBER how.
But whoever he was before, bits and pieces still remain. Every so often, heâll flash back to who he was before.
And sometimesâŚ
His old self will peek into the world. Grand Templar Trace was a master of magic, and â after his wife died â one of the foremost experts of black magic, magic that taints the mind and body. Exploding mana dragons, massive black mana dragons that can burn down forests, black tendrils that can stab even high ranking Basitin soldiers, whose rank can be earned through combat.
> Black dragonâs power has been calculated to be 0.87 tons of TNT
In fact, with his full powers, he was even capable of contending with the Basitin King, the two of them being the closest to the explosion of a Templar Tower on the Basitin Island and survived (with multiple people further away than them dying from the same explosion), an explosion that could even be seen with most of the island visible. Albeit Trace had to shield himself with his magic to survive that.
> Templar Towerâs explosion has been calculated to be at 1.17616935 megatons of TNT. Assuming Traceâs magic scales to 1% of its power, that would put his power at 11.7616935 kilotons of TNT.
Not to mention his trump card against a mage as skilled as he - Imperfect Transformation. A painful means of turning a human into a Keidran to cut them off from casting spells (as a Keidran, in comparison to humans, needs mana crystals to cast spells).
It took one of the gods, Ephemural, taking away his memories just to defeat him.
And yet, despite the dangers of the Grand Templarâs return, Trace began building a new life for himself. His feelings for Flora grew incredibly rapidly, and it wasnât long before he proposed to her, and it wonât be long until they have children together.
And as the two of them travel together, they continue to fight the echoes of what the old Grand Templar left behind, the horrific soul exploitation to try and bring back his old wife, the scheme to rot out the minds of the Basitin, and defending a human village from Templar attack. Hell, he even fought Ephemural to protect Flora. Sure, he got slammed into a wall for his efforts, and stood absolutely no chance to save Flora without outside intervention. But itâs the thought that counts!
> Durability has been calculated to be 3.01386 Kilojoules.
He was even able to block one of her lightning spells with⌠a crate? Really?
> Reaction speed has been calculated to be 40,000 m/s.
It was recently when Trace decided to propose to his (now pregnant) fiance, the two hoping to hold a ceremony to make their love as official as possible. The journey isnât over yet, but Trace and Flora both hold onto hope that, one day⌠their two kinds will finally know peace.

Fight
With our fighters prepped and ready, itâs time to start the Destruction!
---
As the sunlight starts filtering through the trees of the forest, the inhabitant of one of the small tents set up begins stirring awake. The tigress keidran, Flora, is just waking up. She walks out of her camp and greets the human keeping watch with a kiss. âMorning Trace~â
Trace kisses her back passionately, smiling like an idiot. âMorning, Flora~ Had a nice sleep?â
She begins stretching, taking a deep breath in the cold air. âNot as nice once you had to wake up for your shift, I missed your-â her eyes catch the sight of something small and glittery, her attention entirely stolen by it. A small butterfly flying through the air.
âMreow!â She pounces at it, chasing after the butterfly as it tries to stay away.
Trace watched her for a minute with a warm smile. He was so lucky to be with her. He then begins walking towards the other tent.
Just as his back was turned, Flora runs right in front of someone. Covered by black clothes with yellow highlights, a black cape flowing behind himself. His hair was bright green, and his face was without fur. It was a human.
Another human, all the way out here. She froze on the spot, he was here for tigers, wasnât heâŚ?
Gyrus had spent hours wandering the forest by this point, and every tiger girl he ran into either fled or attacked him on sight. Something about humans kidnapping others? He could understand them, but none of them could understand him. Whoever was doing that, he was going to find them.
âAnother one?â Gyrus was getting rather tired of the constant fights, materialising his Boss Sword in an instant. âLetâs make this quick then.â
Flora is backing up slowly, trying to gauge how far from the camp she was without turning her back to him. She was afraid to call out, lest it prompt the stranger into action. âDonât any closer! My claws are sharp!â
Gyrus picked up on this, however, lowering his stance. âWait, you can speak-â
He didnât get to finish as he was being enveloped in a blue aura, moments later getting flung back with enough force for his clothes to get scratched up across the floor.
Trace runs in front of Flora, his emergency sword raised up. âI am the Grand Templar, Trace Legacy. He kept his eyes firmly on the stranger, hoping his status is enough to deter him while he held an arm in front of Flora. Human in tiger territory, probably attempting to kidnap them. He didnât want to bring everyone into a fight they arenât ready for. âThis Keidran is⌠with me, so Iâd suggest you leave.â
â⌠Youâre the one whoâs been taking them?!â
⌠Good news, this human isnât after keidren. Bad news, he probably started a fight anyways.
Trace quickly formed a barrier to protect himself from the tree flung right at him, before flinging a fireball right after.
Gyrus blocks the barrage with his own shield. This human seems to have a decent level to be fighting at this level already. He prepares himself to jump, his boots activating and launching him forwards. His changes his grip on the Boss Sword two a two handed grip, ready to swing down.
It met Traceâs own sword, shattering on impact, not even slowed down as it sliced down the hilt to Traceâs hand⌠Only to slide right off, barely missing even his blue hair. Gyrusâs initial confusion only lasted until he saw what was underneath the glove â a blackened hand with sharp, claw-like fingers on each end.
With his other hand, Trace casts his spell to pick up Gyrus, holding him in the air. âListen, youâre a bit mixed up!â
Gyrus fires out a green blast of energy from his hand, at such a short range it was sure to hit â only for a blue shield to surround Trace. At the same time, he feels the magic holding him in place vanish.
âI havenât taken any keidran!â At least not after losing his memory⌠No, focus, donât let his old self distract him.
Gyrus swings his Boss Sword at the shield. Nothing? He swings at it again, and a third time. Still nothing, how strong is this shield? âReal convenient that there just happened to be a â keidran, was it? â right at your camp!â With brute force not working, Gyrus raises a hand to grab Trace from the other side of the barrier.
âWhat?!â In Traceâs shock, his control over the barrier falters, leaving him an easy target for that sword.
Too close to just conjure up a new barrier before it stabs him, Trace instead fires a beam of raw mana at the hilt of the sword, sending it flying right out of Gyrusâs hands.
Gyrus quickly hooks Trace in the gut with an enhanced punch, sending Trace flying, tumbling against the ground, and then colliding with a tree. Then Gyrus turns to the Boss Sword, his jump boots triggering once again to launch him towards it.
Ignoring his bleeding wounds and bruised gut, Trace raises a hand towards the sword. His magic coating it in a blue aura, he begins drawing it towards himself just before Gyrus could grab it.
Gyrus smoothly rolls across the ground, his own hand reaching out to grab it â a green aura violently fighting against the blue aura.
The two were now in a psychic tug-o-war, the sword vibrating softly from their competing magics.
The blue light overtakes it as it drags towards Trace.
The green light overtakes it as it drags towards Gyrus.
The blue light overtakes it.
The two lights balance out, the sword vibrating rapidly from the competing forces.
The blue light completely overtakes it, green light breaking off as it flies alarmingly fast towards Trace.
Gyrus was getting overpowered? How high level was this human?!
It was time for a new approach. He changes his focus to Trace, a green barrier picking Trace up off the ground.
âWhat?!â
The barrier begins shrinking rapidly. In less than a second, it will completely crush Trace. Trace wonât need a second. He vanishes before he can be crushed, the sword landing on the ground right in front of Flora.
Gyrus knows he didnât crush Trace. He felt the weight vanish in an instant. But he needs that sword.
Flora, with her fur on end from shock, kneels down to grab the Boss Sword. Gyrus pulls the sword towards himself, and in his haste it cut a bit of Floraâs arm. She mewled out in pain, falling over.
âYouâre safe now, I have-â
His words were interrupted once he feels the ground shaking. Turning around to see trees getting dragged out of their roots, floating in the air. Trace had healed himself up after teleporting, but now heâs just staring with pure hate, his aura (and irises) turning red. âYou⌠hurt⌠Flora!â
He flings the trees at Gyrus one at a time, their sheer size and haphazard throw causing one to tear itself apart on contact with the ground. With his jump boots, Gyrus launches up above the grounded tree, using it to launch himself underneath the second tree. The final tree changes direction mid-throw, forcing him to bring up another shield.
The tree and the barrier both shattered on contact, debris sending Gyrus flying.
âHurt my fiance, will you?!â
That was when Gyrus knew he had made a wrong assumption. He leaps out of the way of the next true, using his jump boots to keep up his speed. He canât calm him down like this. But maybeâŚ
He held up a hand, summoning a small starfish robot. âScout, I need you to scan that tiger lady, over there, take a flank route to reach her. Then replicate on my mark.â
âUnderstood, Gyrus.â
He lets go of the robot. A tendril darts out in front of him, making a sharp turn for one of his jump boots. He lets out a scream of pain from his foot getting struck, tumbling back down on the ground. Thereâs more tendrils flying towards him after the first one. Gyrus grabs two of them â and to his dismay, he canât stop them in their tracks. But he does direct them away from him, one only lightly grazing his cheek.
Flora stands up from behind the rock, staring at Trace with worry. Then the starfish robot flies in front of her. âMreow?â
It floats harmlessly for a few seconds. âScan complete.â It flies off as abruptly as it appears.
Trace stops shooting out black tendrils. Instead, firing out small, transparent dragons. Gyrus grabs the first one to redirect, only to see it change direction midflight. Directly overpowering his telekinesis, Gyrus switches to his shield. As it collides with the barrier it immediately explodes with enough force to shatter the shield, flinging Gyrus back. He sees the second one approaching and forms a barrier â only to feel blooding leaking from his left eye. He was out of MP, now?
He drops the shield and holds his Boss Sword in front of himself to block the hit.
The explosion sends him tumbling to the ground, weakened. âSc- augh⌠ScoutâŚ!â
Trace slowly lands in front of him, his red aura getting brighter. âYou do not know who youâve awakened.â
Trace gathers up mana to fire his finishing blow. Only for Flora to run right in front of him.
âFlora?!â he calls out in shock, reaching out to touch her. His hand goes through. In his confusion he looks around to see the starfish robot, shooting it into pieces in a single hit.
Still, just seeing Flora was enough to snap him back into reality, and he turns to see her still hiding.
In the distraction, Gyrus holds both hands out, summoning a vitalitablet and a mana muffin. He messily wolfs both down â no time to recharge slowly â his wounds closing up in an instant. He then summons a portal at his feet, letting gravity send him down to his new location right above Trace, with his Boss Sword cutting into Traceâs back.
âAugh?!â In shock from the abrupt pain, Trace fires out a bolt of electricity behind himself, shocking the both of them at once.
Gyrus makes the Boss Sword vanish, landing on his feet.
Trace lands down on his hands and knees, bleeding. Then, the plants surrounding them begin to wilt and die. Trace looks back up, black mana spreading out behind him like a smoke, while his wound begin to heal up.
Flora watches the black smoke forming around them, her eyes widening. âOh noâŚâ
Trace stands back up on his feet â and as he does so, two massive legs step down on either side of him.
Gyrus slowly takes a step back at the sight of the massive beast in front of him towering over the forest.
A shadow dragon.
It roars out, in perfect sync with Trace as it shoots out a massive breath of fire towards the battlefield â careful not to shoot the fire too close to the camp.
Gyrus doesnât even bother trying to shield, using a portal to go right out of the way, ducking underneath the small pillar of flame that follows him.
As Trace moves the dragon does too, its feet stomping down towards Gyrus. He swings his Boss Sword at its ankle, making the dragon roar out in pain â and making Trace wince in pain.
Gyrus could see that theyâre linked, and he can feel the power thatâs built up within himself. Doesnât matter how strong this dragon his, he knows it canât withstandâŚ
Breaking Point: Event Horizon.
Gyrusâs sword vanishes in an instant, as a shockwave burst out from Gyrus. The shockwave drags the dragonâs foot back slightly.
Gyrus begins defying gravity, the world in his immediate vicinity rippling and shaking. And that means that the dragonâs foot is being torn apart effortlessly into raw black mana, going across its leg as Gyrus does.
Trace yells out in pain from the immense pain. He could see anything, but he could feel everything the dragon does. He⌠He remembers what it felt like last time. And he remembers how to break that link.
Gyrus flies up along the shadow dragonâs back, continuing to tear it apart. It leans its head back, breathing another pillar of fire towards Gyrus. Only for it to spread around Gyrus, as if heâs in control of every aspect of reality near him. He flies right into the head of the dragon, tearing it apart. As the dragon falls over, collapsing into black mana, he flies back down towards the ground.
He turns over to Trace, still standing there. His breaking point comes to an end, Boss Sword reappearing in his hand. Boss Sword in hand, he readies the finishing blow.
Only to strike nothing.
The man standing in front of him is an illusion?
Thatâs when heâs struck in the back, the last thing he felt being the heat of an explosion.
Trace is standing behind the crater, his explosive dragon spell a bullseye. His focus is only on Flora. âAre you safe?â
Flora wordlessly nods, before running towards the smoke. âIs heâŚ?â
âIâm sorry.â Trace stands silent for a minute at the smoke trail. âThere shouldnât be anything left.â
And yet, there was one thing left. The Boss Sword, laying on the ground. Flora cautiously grabs it. The moment she does, sheâs enveloped in a white light.
âFlora?!â Trace runs in without a second thought, ready to defend her from whatever is happening.
But as he sees the light dissipating, whatâs standing in front of him was unbelievable.
It looks like Flora, but three times as tall. With her limbs all beefed up, and her claws lengthened and sharpened. Her eyes had unnaturally focused slits, while her teeth were sharper than before and pokes out past her lips.
As Flora looks down to herself, shock comes first. âWhat happened?!â
Then, horror. âOh my god, this isâŚ!â
Then, as she looks down to her chest, thereâs a silence.
âŚ
She looks down to Trace, grinning as she puffed out her chest to draw attention to whatâs hanging off of it. â⌠Wonderful! Look how big I am!â Certainly not referring to her height.
Trace awkwardly chuckles as he stares at Flora. âI⌠Iâll take you back to the estate, see if we can fix whateverâs happened to you there.â
Even if Flora doesnât seem to mind...

Conclusion
Both sides had some extreme advantages, enough that the fight could literally end in a single move, but what gave Trace the tools over Gryus? Letâs break it down into 6 categories.
Magical Power
Trace was actually significantly stronger with his magic, much stronger â the Templar Tower on the Basitin Island could be seen even from far enough away for nearly all of the island to be visible. And while the tower itself was empowering Trace, it also drained a significant amount of his energy, not to mention the explosion afterwards also drained even more mana, enough that Lady Nora â a 2,000+ year old dragon (dragons get more powerful the older they get, due to building more mana with age), had to go into a month long sleep to recover from it.
Even assuming Traceâs barriers were only 1% as powerful as the explosion, thatâs still 90 kilotonsâ worth of force, far and away beyond anything Gyrus is capable of, both offensively and defensively, and thus he could break through any barrier Gyrus put up.
> 258 Tons of TNT vs 1,176,169.35 Tons of TNT leaves Trace 4,558.80 times stronger (rounded up).
Strong advantage for Trace
Physical Power
However, while Gyrusâs physical body could keep up with his potential, and his own sword and jump boots enhanced that further, Trace was for all intents and purposes an ordinary human â his best achievement being surviving a crash into a wall hard enough for it to crack. Combined with the fact that they both had telekinesis, it meant that both of them are capable of being killed in a single hit.
> 258 Tons of TNT vs 3.01386 Kilojoules leaves Gyrus 358,169,258.028 times stronger.
Strong advantage for Gyrus
Versatility
They shared a lot of the same powers â telekinesis, energy projection, barrier creation, holograms/illusions, teleportation â but itâs when you look at their different powers do advantages start to come in.
Gyrus has superior range, superior movement speed via his jump boots, and his portals are generally greater as they allow him to even cross into different Realms entirely. This, coupled with his ability to Reset, gives him more than enough tools to keep Trace on his toes. Not to mention that if he can trigger his Breaking Point, its localised power over reality (and souls!) are more than enough to win the fight then and there.
However, Traceâs illusion magic has less restrictions than Scoutâs holographic technology, and he has more spells at his disposal - explosive âdragonsâ, a shadow dragon he can conjure, black tendrils that can turn towards their targets, and elemental spells (while weâve only seen him cast fire, it should be reasonable for him to cast lightning, water, and air spells; given he displayed clear knowledge on how to apply the latter two when there was a fire and he had no mana, and the former could be used by a character with very limited hands-on knowledge on magic and a declining sanity).
Trace also has a gate key to his estate where teleportation is blocked (meaning he can take the environment to one more favourable to him and if Gyrus followed heâd find his portals shut down), and the estate itself has an enchantment to turn intruders (such as Gyrus in this example) into farm animals.
And if Templar Trace were to be awoken, who knows Imperfect Transformation - a spell to turn Gyrus into a keidran (and thus completely shut down all access to magic), itself an immediate win-condition.
While they both have tools to work around to their victory, itâs also worth pointing out that Gyrus is canonically unlucky, due to a bad luck potion - so the likelihood that heâd push Trace into going all out or even awakening Templar Trace is far likelier than usual.
Soft advantage for Trace
Intelligence
Gyrus was not only noted to be the 2nd fastest team leader on missions for realms within the Room of Swords, but also the member with the lowest casualty route, meaning he has a lot of skill not only with his own powers, but also recognising the usefulness of othersâ powers and how to be both safe and efficient. Not to mention superior scientific knowledge, having made the Room of Swords to begin with.
Meanwhile Trace, even in his Templar days, was noted to be lazy when not sufficiently motivated, and even his more intelligent moments were for out of combat situations, like planning on how to deal with the Basitin or his plan to revive Saria. This is all without mentioning the negative effects black mana has on his sanity that can impact a fight.
And all of thatâs pre-amnesia. Post-amnesia Trace started off not even knowing what a Keidran even was. One of the most foundational pieces of knowledge of his world, just⌠gone. And many of his most potent spells are inaccessible without relying on his past selfâs memories, directly or indirectly, something he actively tries to avoid.
Medium advantage for Gyrus
Stamina
On the surface, this looks like an easy win for Trace, as he can just siphon off mana from the earth when his personal reserves run dry while being resistant to the same being done to him, and then can just resort to black mana when he runs out of that too. But in practice, black mana will infect his mind, and slowly make him irrational and less skilled, and eventually kill him outright.
Conversely, despite having a more limited magic supply overall, Gyrusâs means of recovering are far less risky, with the greatest risk â lowering his own HP when using magic without MP â being reversible from eating vitalitablets. Well, technically any food would suffice, but vitalitablets are the most effective.
So in practice, despite the limited supply Gyrusâs healing and mana items should allow him to win the war of attrition as Traceâs black magic slowly kills him from overuse.
Soft advantage for Gyrus
Combat Speed
Trace was able to contend with General Alabaster and Ephemural, and react to their lightning spells with his own magic.
> 413 m/s vs 40,000 m/s leaves Trace 97 times faster
We can be confident that these lightning spells move at similar speeds to actual lightning for one simple reason - Lady Nora also used lightning magic in her debut, and was doing so while inside of a storm cloud (with natural lightning strikes from said storm clouds looking identical to Lady Noraâs lightning). And sure, Lady Noraâs overall potential should eclipse everyone including Trace himself, that doesnât mean sheâs incapable of casting simpler spells, nor does it explain Ephemural (who, as an immortal god, should be at least as knowledgeable as Nora is in the field of magic) firing lightning thatâs slower, even with the limitations of her manifestation.
And sure, Trace canât run as fast as he can fight. But not only does teleportation let him avoid that issue entirely, but in the fight against Ephemural he blocked that lightning spell with his telekinetic grip, so he could in all likelihood move himself at such speeds - as long as heâs careful about the kinetic energy involved.
Strong advantage for Trace

Stats
Speed:
Reaction Speed: At least 413 metres per second â Can fight against Ragan, who moved around an island in 10 seconds, likely higher (is level 10 at his peak).
Movement Speed: Likely above an average humanâs (is level 10 at his peak).
Movement Speed (with Jump Boots): At least 350 metres per second â used his jump boots to dodge a sword swing at this speed, likely higher (is level 10 at his peak).
Strength:
Attack Potency (without Boss Sword): At least 258 tons of TNT â as he can emit projectiles or amplify his own physical strikes, likely higher (is level 10 at his peak).
Attack Potency (with Boss Sword): At least 258 tons of TNT â unleashing his Breaking Point had the side-effect of making a shock wave this powerful, which he withstood, likely higher (is level 10 at his peak).
Durability: At least 258 tons of Tnt â withstood a shock wave this powerful at point blank, likely higher (is level 10 at his peak).
Durability (shields): Above 258 tons of Tnt â can withstand forces that would one shot his base self, likely higher (is level 10 at his peak).
Durability (Boss Swords): 1/24th of 8th dimensional â each Boss Sword is made from Donâs power, and their combined power is what was used to create the Room of Swords in the first place, in addition Don is capable of destroying the Room of Swords at full power (though doing so would kill him too). This should scale to their durability, as Don and the Shadows were the only entities capable of damaging a Boss Sword, including Olimedes, whose power allows him to disassemble an object to its base materials.
Abilities
Innate
Auto-translation â can understand any language known by any person in the Room of Swords, even prior to formal language (such as Sylvia, a cavegirl). It is unknown if this applies to all languages, or only to languages spoken in the Room of Swords. Itâs also possibly not a perfect translation, as a small handful of characters still share short phrases in their native language (such as swears) that arenât translated, though this could just be for the effect and/or to smoothly communicate their native language to us, the reader.
Hammerspace â has an inventory that will allow him to maintain possession of his items without physically holding onto them.
High intelligence â was able to create the Room of Swords, an 8 dimensional prison (3 spatial dimensions + time of a Boss Room, plus the space-time of the main room within the Room of Swords, plus the space-time of the fake reality). In combat, Gyrus was noted as being the squad leader with the fewest casualties, and the 2nd fastest mission completion time (behind only Ragan, who has literal superspeed).
Resistance to fear manipulation and statistics reduction (strength, innate), limited resistance to cold manipulation â was unaffected by a Shadowâs presence.
Spells â uses MP to cast, or HP if thereâs no MP remaining.
Energy projection & manipulation â hasnât used the power himself, but should be capable of the same given others using his borrowed power have done so.
Non-physical interaction â can harm Shadows with his energy attacks.
Forcefield generation
Non-physical interaction â can block Shadows with his shields.
Size manipulation â can change the size of his forcefield, even crushing Shadows within.
Portal creation â can create portals into other worlds within the Room of Swords without needing to enter the main room like others.
Power bestowal â can transfer the energy from his power onto others (via a small âwristbandâ made out of the same energy) or onto machines he invented for the express purpose of using his energy.
Telekinesis
Shockwave generation.
Statistics amplification (physical strikes).
Possibly time travel â was noted as being capable of using time travel, but has never made a trip unassisted. Time travel requires following along the chronological path of an item.
Breaking Point: Event Horizon
Law manipulation â can manipulate the laws of reality within his Breaking Pointâs range.
Reality warping â quoted by Gyrus himself to be able to command all matter and energy of anything within his Breaking Pointâs range.
Soul manipulation, absorption, and sealing â can absorb Shadows and souls into his Black Box, though this can leave his Black Box vulnerable to attack.
Shockwave generation.
Black Box
Multiple personas â if killed without his Boss Sword, he can recede into his own subconscious in order to merge with his future self and continue being, though this requires his future self to learn how to access the Black Box.
Limited retrocognition â by arranging memories within his core memories (the memories that are present when being reset), Gylius can recall events that had transpired in previous lives as long as heâs able to reach his subconsciousness, which he dubbed his Black Box.
Equipment
Boss Sword
Acausality & retrocognition (can maintain awareness of a loop after death, alongside all of his equipment and abilities, as long as heâs killed by the Boss Sword and disappears before it is removed).
Non-physical interaction (can harm Shadows).
Statistics amplification â turns monsters into Boss Monsters (including any non-human creature), one time instantly boosting a level 5 monster into a level 10 monster. Grants humans special powers purely by touching the sword.
Power bestowal â Grants humans special powers purely by touching the sword. Possessing the (undamaged) sword is required to use oneâs Breaking Point.
Food â activates upon eating.
Vitalitablets â can heal wounds.
Mana muffins â can restore mana.
Jump Boots â allows Gyrus to make high jumps, which has been mistaken for flight.
Jump suit
Scanner â can scan objects to gain data on them, and create holographic projections of any object he scans, including brightness. Can scan and create holograms of himself.
Prosthetic arm â can act as a funnel for Gyrusâs power and generally serves as a replacement limb. No longer requires its function as a prosthetic, but he should still be capable of using it to travel to other worlds.
Portal creation - can be used as a focus to teleport between different worlds.
Scout
Scanning â can scan just like his jump suit, can also detect location of lifeforms with their DNA
Scouting â yeah, it can scout.
Attacks â it was upgraded with combat protocols.
Timehook â can allow users to time travel, even without the ability to do so innately. Likely out of charge, but even if it isnât the remaining time is likely less than a year.
Weaknesses
When out of MP, Gyrusâs magic abilities draw from his HP directly (i.e. spells will cause him injuries when he casts without MP).
His Boss Sword only lets him carry through between resets if it kills him and itâs not removed from his body before said body disappears.
Gaining too much ruin energy without using his Breaking Point can induce glowing eyes, dizziness, muscle spasms, and eventually fainting.
Low luck stat, due to being born shortly after his mother took a bad luck potion.
Trace Legacy
Note: artwork drawn by Tom (dubbed âofficial artâ on the TwoKinds gallery website) will only be used if itâs labelled as âcanonicalâ, âreference sheetâ, or is deemed as a what-if (such as the what-if drawing of Trace deciding to heal Laura despite the consequences).
Stats
Speed:
Reaction speed: 40,000 m/s â could fight Ephemural and react to her spells, including her lightning spells.
Attack speed: 100,000 m/s at best - should be able to cast spells comparable to General Alabastor (i.e. lightning spells), due to Trace being one of the most talented mages and Alabastor being relatively new (and declining in sanity).
Movement speed: none notable (is depicted as a normal human without his magic).
Strength:
Attack potency: At least 11.7616935 kilotons.
Durability: 3 kilojoules - survived crashing into a wall hard enough to cause cracks
Durability (shields): At least 11.7616935 kilotons â was drained of most of his mana, empowered, and then shielded against the mana explosion while being drained of mana once more.
Abilities
Limited energy absorption and life stealing â can drain mana from the Earth and, if lacking in mana, drain life energy from the Earth instead. Unknown if he can drain mana from others directly.
High intelligence â Trace is noted to have been gifted in magic, and is famed for being one of the best mages, both in and out of combat.
Magic â some of these spells required external energy sources at the time they were done, but given Trace can draw mana and â in the absence of mana â life energy (also known as black mana) from the Earth itself this should be a non-issue by now. He can also directly draw mana and black mana into himself (though the latter is very dangerous).
Aura â can emit a yellow, light blue, or red aura.
Barrier creation.
Creation
Small explosive dragons â small transparent âdragonsâ that explode on contact.
Shadow dragon â a larger dragon that can breathe fire. Trace is mentally linked to it, and if that link is broken the dragon will begin attacking indiscriminately.
Enchantment â is capable of imbuing objects with magic. Known objects include:
Enslavement collar â enslaves Keidran.
Stone statues â bodyguards (canât create them mid-combat).
Energy projection (mana).
Limited enhanced statistics â is stronger in his left arm after it got corrupted by his black magic.
Illusion creation - the limits are unknown, but Trace has used this to put up a fake of himself to target.
Locking â can magically lock doors and other containers.
Memory manipulation â mustâve been the one who set up the spell in the estate that kept people from remembering what they saw in the one forbidden room.
Mind control â was presented as something owners are capable of casting on their slaves, and given pre-amnesiac Trace could make enslavement collars, he should be capable of this in some fashion.
Tendrils â can summon black tendrils from his back that he can grow and control at will, which can strike hard enough to pierce armour.
Telekinesis.
Teleportation â range is unknown, but presumably itâs either limited to a short range or limited to areas heâs already familiar with, or both.
Transformations
Keidran â all Keidran have significantly shorter lifespans in comparison to humans, and can only cast magic using mana crystals or black mana.
Animal (partial transformations).
And much, much more. He should reasonably be able to cast most âcommonâ spells in the setting, given his skills.
Resistance to power nullification â if sufficiently enraged, Trace can overcome a mana sink designed to drain him of all of his magic, though doing so required tapping into black mana.
Equipment â while amnesiac, Trace should have access to any equipment that was at his estate. As for whether or not heâd use it...
Enslavement collar â only works on Keidran.
Gate key â creates a portal based on who uses the gate key. For Trace, it leads to his estate.
Sword. Nothing magical about it, itâs just a sword.
Weaknesses
Amnesiac, and is constantly attempting to prevent his pre-amnesiac self from taking control.
Channeling black mana has various side-effects, including nervousness, violence, delusions, loss of memory, insanity, and even death. Many of these effects have already taken effect on pre-amnesiac Trace, and donât affect current Trace only because they were sealed away with his memories.
Current Trace will refuse to use many items and spells that he has access to on moral grounds (such as an enslavement collar, for example), and will be hesitant to use any corrupted magic.

Ragan runs around an island
Ragan Turgard was able to run around the coast of an island in a short timespan.
Given that the Scout robots were destroyed within 10 seconds at the longest, letâs assume a 10 second timeframe (both for Raganâs efficiency and because she would reasonably assume theyâd be in danger within 10 seconds because of how quickly the scouts were destroyed).
From episode 63 of Room of Swords (from the original Webtoons site).
Ragan is 93 pixels tall - with a canonical height of 6"1' (or 185.42 cm), while her head is 16 pixels (or 31.9 cm), rounding up to 40 cm since it's likely she's got a sub-inch variance in height and I'd like to keep the math simple
From episode 83 of Room of Swords (from the original Webtoons site).
Ragan's head is 17 pixels tall - with a previously calculated height of 40 cm, this makes the entire panel (Knox's zoomed in PoV) 410 pixels, or 964.7 cm
From episode 83 of Room of Swords (from the original Webtoons site).
Given this the previous image is a x100 zoom, we can assume that for this image 100 pixels = 1 pixel in comparison to the previous image, making 1 pixel equal to 235.3 cm
The island's total width (as far as is visible) is [100 vertical pixels, 541 horizontal pixels]Â 550.2 pixels; assuming 560 pixels in length to account for the off-screen portion of the island. This makes the island's diameter 131,768 cm.
Assuming the island is a perfect circle, this makes the circumference equal to 413,961 cm, or 4,139.6 metres
Traversing 4,139.6 metres in 10 seconds means Ragan is moving at 413 m/s, or supersonic speeds. This could be slightly higher, given that Ragan ran around in the water rather than on the surface of the beach, but this range should be acceptable.

Trace
Crate intercepts lightning
Trace decides to use a crate to block Ephemuralâs lightning spell (I mean, really? A crate?).
Page 168 of TwoKinds.
Due to visual similarities with the lightning in page 224 (and a lightning storm in page 168), it is safe to assume that magically conjured lightning is equivalent to real lightning.
Due to subtle inconsistencies in positioning (and lack of a good reference point at the time of the feat itself), distances will be assumed rather than pixel measured.
Assumptions:
Lightning is travelling at the minimum speed of natural lightning (100,000 metres per second)
Ephemural casts her lightning spell 3 metres away (she appears to be roughly 2 metres away from Trace in prior shots, but also visibly hovered into the air).
Trace moves the crate a total of 1 distance.
The crate intercepted the lightning 0.5 metres away from Trace.
With these assumptions, the total timeframe for the feat becomes 25 microseconds.
40% of 100,000 m/s is 40,000 m/s, or Massively Hypersonic.
This is consistent with Trace being able to intercept Alabastorâs magic (calculated below), although this feat is more reliable due to verifiably not being an aim react feat.
---
Intercepting a lightning spell
Trace was able to intercept a lightning spell from General Albion Alabaster before it hit its intended target.
To calculate the speed, we first need to calculate the distance, which we can do with the help of a magically endowed arrow.
From page 515 of TwoKinds.
Horizontal distance of the arrow's beam of light: 424 pixels.
Vertical distance of the arrow's beam of light: 93 pixels.
Angle: 12.3 degrees.
Assuming the arrow isnât subject to gravity due to being magicked (at least not to a degree that would affect the result).
From page 462 of TwoKinds.
(There is an extra measurement on the width for the Tower for a calc that wound up not being used).
The arrow was fired at a 155.26 degree angle, and the hole in the tower is â in comparison to other humans (presumed to be the average US male human height of 168.2 centimetres):
Human: 61 pixels tall.
Distance between Traceâs platform and the tower: 406 pixels/1119.5 cm (11.2 m)
Tower hole: 152-205 pixels/419.1-565.3 cm (4.2-5.7 m) off the ground.
Nataniâs distance from the tower (using the height and angle): 1922.2-2592.6 cm (19.2-25.9 m).
Distance arrow travelled: 1967.3-2653.6 cm (19.7-26.5 m).
As said by both Lady Nora and Princess Reni, dragons are beings made of magic, and anything they can do should therefore be possible through magic. Given Nora flies along a storm cloud, coats herself in electricity, and fires out electricity from within the storm cloud, it should be reasonable to assume that lightning spells do travel at the speed of actual lightning.
With that in mind, when General Alabaster fires out a lightning spell (standing approximately 1 metre in front of the Basitin tower) at Laura (who, due to running towards him, can be assumed 1 metre closer than Natani) and Trace intercepts the spell Alabaster fired at Laura, it can be assumed that the spell Trace intercepted is equivalent to actual lightning.
The diagonal of 11.2 metres and 23.9 metres is 26.4 metres.
The minimum speed of lightning is 100,000 m/s
26.416*100000/23.926= 110,407.088523 m/s, or massively hypersonic.
While less reliable than the above due to arguments over aim dodging, it should be a fine supporting argument + it should suggest that at least some of Traceâs spells are as fast as lightning.
---
Trace shields himself from the Basitin Island Templar Towerâs explosion
As shown in this official artwork (given the âcanonicalâ tag on the TwoKinds gallery), Trace managed to protect himself from the massive explosion (at least partially, given Laura was fatally wounded and Trace was injured, though itâs possible all of Traceâs injuries came from fighting against King Adelaide prior).
Using some proportional scaling from this map (itâs more likely that this is in miles than kilometres, since the imperial system is referenced on page 195, but both will be calculated, and in the interim 1 unit will be referred to as U)
1000 u reference = 51 pixels
Grid (equal height to 1000 reference point) = 97 pixels/1902.0 u (rounded up)
Grid (equal height to Basitin Island reference point) = 1902.0 u/99 pixels
Basitin Island (top to middle) = 42 pixels/806.91 U (rounded up)
Doubling this result for the full island width calculation = 1613.82
From page 526 of TwoKinds.
(There are extra measuring lines because I was going to calc things like the mana beam, but ultimately decided they wouldnât be relevant to the feat).
Comparing the size of the island to the size of the explosion (keep in mind we are seeing it with the perspective facing East relative to the map):
Island = 787 pixels/1613 U (cutting some off as a tiny amount of the island isnât visible from off-screen).
Explosion diameter = 9 pixels/18.45 U
Explosion radius = 4.5 pixels/9.22 U
Assuming the shock wave pressure is 0.124106 bars, given itâs the minimum required to break concrete (and, while not concrete, stone walls feel like they should be close enough calculation wise)
Explosive yield (assuming kilometres): 9220^3*((27136*0.124106+8649)^(1/2)/13568-93/13568)^2 = 1,176,169.35 Tons of TNT, or 1.1761693500000001 Megatons
Explosive yield (assuming miles): 14838^3*((27136*0.124106+8649)^(1/2)/13568-93/13568)^2 = 4,902,337.3493 Tons of TNT, or 4.9023373493 Megatons
Assuming Traceâs shield tanked 1% of the force:
km: 11.7616935 Kilotons of TNT
mi: 49.023373493 Kilotons of TNT
Both Town level. Given his barriers, telekinesis, and offensive spells all use mana, itâs reasonable to apply these stats to all of Traceâs magic where applicable.

Traceâs shadow dragon
From page 229 of TwoKinds.
The lack of clear detail on the trees made measuring the dragonâs size difficult, but using this overhead view to compare its neck width to that of the surrounding roads should suffice.
Roadâs width: 18 pixels
Assuming itâs wide enough to fit two carriages and an additional 10% of empty space, thatâd make it 301.4 centimetres wide (as the width of a carriage is apparently 143.5 centimetres wide).
Width of dragonâs neck: 12.5 pixels
Width of dragonâs neck (centimetres): 209.3 cm (2.1 m)
From page 229 of TwoKinds
This panel gives a good comparison between the dragonâs neck and the fire breath it breathes out.
Dragonâs neck: 42 pixels/209.3 cm
Top width of fire breath: 21.9 pixels/109.1 cm
Base width of fire breath: 60.9 pixels/303.5 cm
Area of flames on the ground: 7.2 m^2.
Length of fire breath: 187 pixels/931.9
Total volume of fire breath (cubic metres): 33.5 m^3.
E=m*c*ÎT
m:
Pine wood weighs 490 kilograms per cubic metre. Taking the volume (as a fire breath would be constantly breathing that flame out), that would be 16,415 kilogramsâ worth, or 16,415,000 grams.
c:
Woodâs ignition point is 204°C (477.2°K), though as a highball 500°C (773.2°K) is included as well.
Heat capacity of wood is 1.2-1.9 j.g-1.k-1.
ÎT:
Starting temperature is assumed to be 20°C (293.2°K).
Change in temperature (in Kelvin) is 184-480°K
E:
Low end: 16415000 * 1.2 * 184 = 3,624,432,000 joules, or 0.87 tons of TNT, or building level.
High end: 16415000 * 1.9 * 480 = 14,970,480,000 joules, or 3.6 tons of TNT, or large building level.

Unless specified otherwise, only the primary canon of a character is used. Media will be assumed canonical unless evidence against their inclusion is present.
Crossovers, if deemed canonical to a character, will not provide any scaling to the other franchises featured, instead only using the information present within the crossover itself.
Unless specified otherwise, a character will be taken at the latest point in the timeline where theyâre considered combat capable (i.e. before they died/permanently retired)
Characters are assumed motivated to win and to prioritise winning, but are otherwise in-character (including potential restrictions against killing)
A character wins when they can put the opponent in a position that prevents them from fighting for at least 1 hour. This includes but is not limited to:
Knocked out
Dead
Removed from the battlefield
Restrained
Asleep
Controlled
Unless specified otherwise, a character has access to all equipment that they can feasibly obtain at the point in time theyâre included.
The winner will be determined by whoever can win more often over the opponent (even if the most likely result overall is a draw/inconclusive)
Unless specified otherwise, the starting battlefield will be assumed to be neutral terrain for both characters, though if capable of doing so a character can still move the battlefield to one more advantageous to them.
Unless specified otherwise, all characters involved in the fight will start at the furthest distance that leaves every character capable of attacking each other.
Fight narrations (and whatever other mediums we could hypothetically include them in) are abstractions of our research, and as such details may be fudged or ignored for the sake of a more entertaining fight.
Reptile vs Riptor (Mortal Kombat vs Killer Instinct)
Release date: 8th of November
Link: https://youtu.be/HbKxCM8IbpQÂ
Mini-review: The animation felt like it had strange pacing, and the short length made it feel like it ended super abruptly. Also I canât help but feel like they just let one character hold the advantage for 90% of the fight. As far as the analysis goes, Iâm not familiar enough with either franchise to say for sure but the scaling (for as much detail is given) seems strange to me. Not a huge fan of this episode, though I didnât outright dislike it.
Death Battle
Dante vs Clive (Devil May Cry vs Final Fantasy)
Release date: 9th of November
Link: https://youtu.be/Np4sC1osT_kÂ
Mini-review: The models look a little jank (most notable at the beginning), but beyond that the fight was incredible, so fluid and stylish while letting their personalities shine through (especially Dante, but thatâs partially because heâs just Like Thatâ˘). And, as a bonus, the fight is actually incredibly close, very likely the 2nd closest fight that didnât outright end in a draw (after a Dragon Ball v Dragon Ball matchup). A really good episode all around.
Nexus Battles
Catrat vs Garfield (Gabbyâs Dollhouse vs Garfield)
Release date: 9th of November
Link: https://youtu.be/C_1Ic3vWUBwÂ
Mini-review: I hate having to repeatedly bring this up, but please either reduce the voice filter or add some subtitles, itâs so difficult to hear whatâs being said, and on top of that it makes some of the voices annoying to hear. This alone really hinders every episode. Beyond that, the episodeâs animation, while struggling, does seem to convey the power and hax these characters have, and (as far as I can understand whatâs even being argued) it seems to be a reasonable conclusion.
Fan Battle
Beetlejuice vs the Ghostbusters (Beetlejuice vs Ghostbusters)
Release date: 16th of November
Link: https://youtu.be/fieYegtiQ9IÂ
Mini-review: Truth be told I was expecting this to be a one sided stomp of a matchup, but while it⌠still wasnât close, I was surprised to see that there was some debatability behind it. Beyond that, the animation was still a fun romp as they displayed the wacky abilities that they all had access to, and they handled Beetlejuice invading the analysis well, quickly turning the fightâs premise from a theoretical into the hosts wanting to get rid of him. Once again, however, I ask for a narrator for the text segments on-screen if theyâre going to remain.
Cartoon Fight Club
Shrek & Donkey (Shrek) vs Mike & Sulley (Monsters Inc.)
Mini-review: Uh yeah that was alright. The stats section seemed rather lacking from an analysis perspective, and the prep time options werenât even brought up until the conclusion, but the animation was decent. I mean, the Shrek and Donkey sprites were rather chibi in contrast with Mike and Sulleyâs sprites, but the fight was overall fluid, and it made good use of the doors to vary up the combat locations quite a bit.

Spooky Showdown
Leprechaun vs Warlock (Leprechaun 1993 vs Warlock 1989)
Release date: 4th of May, 2024
Link: https://youtu.be/mvSOq1SsSXUÂ
Mini-review: Yeah this was a pretty fun episode, detailing the wacky and sometimes silly history of these two horror characters and ending in an interesting duel between the two. The conclusion seems pretty well thought out, and they both have a good repertoire of tricks up their sleeves.
Nebula Theatre
Chara vs Lord X (Undertale vs Sonic.EXE)
Release date: 31st of October, 2025
Link: https://youtu.be/rEy_O3FBBUUÂ
Mini-review: Now, normally I donât mention this kind of stuff, but Sonic.Exe is like one of the least appealing things possible to me specifically (for brevityâs sake, I wonât get into it). I mention this because despite my inherent lack of interest in such a match-up, it is pretty well done (and a good debut episode for the series) - it digs into the character and lore of both Chara and Lord X rather well, focuses on what these two have in common, and the animation does a really good job of having this world slowly break down as a consequence of their fight. And the conclusion did a good enough job at describing the matchup that it managed to convince me conclusively enough (yes Iâm admitting my prediction was wrong when I didnât need to, shock and horror). Looking forward to this show for future episodes, and I hope the quality only continues to improve.

Mini-review: Didnât really enjoy this match-up. Didnât get much from the analysis portions, the fight was rather basic (and just re-uses voice clips for Nolan despite getting a voice actor for Metro Man), doesnât really do anything characterisation wise, and the Metro Man sprite is⌠not very good. Itâs kind of a funny sprite, though, with how big that chin is. Doesnât help that the debate amounts to a one sided stomp.
Fan War!!!
Son Goku vs Sailor Moon (Dragon Ball vs Sailor Moon)
Release date: 4th of October
Link: https://youtu.be/d2H5QFiXHPkÂ
Mini-review: The episodeâs pretty good for the most part - fight choreographyâs cool, and the conclusion felt pretty in-depth to dig into who should win and why. That being said, Crabmobâs audio sounded strange, and Gokuâs voice sounded strange to my ears. And it often felt like the characters transformed just because, which was particularly strange.
Fan Battle
Tiamat vs Alduin (Dungeons & Dragons vs The Elder Scrolls)
Release date: 5th of October
Link: https://youtu.be/OQSGh7ZPjX4Â
Mini-review: This episode did a pretty good job at selling the deific power of these two dragons in the run down, and then having the battle be in storybook style as if an old tale passed down by legend further solidified that feeling. And the conclusion, while not perfect, felt like it did a good job at selling the winner of this battle. Though, I did find the 3D finale of the fight a bit jank. Also, obligatory recommendation to add a narrator for the on-screen text in the fight.
Debate Club
Yoshikage Kira vs Tohru Adachi (Persona vs JoJoâs Bizard Adventure)
Release date: 9th of October
Link: https://youtu.be/Ys4xS1O5eKMÂ
Mini-review: While I think the fight animation is pretty interesting, Iâm really not sure why this could even be considered a debate - by the episodeâs own logic, one character just held every single meaningful advantage. Ignoring that, however, the fight dynamic has wound up being rather neat, and the fake outs (plural) wound up tying things up pretty well.
Cartoon Fight Club
Xenophanes Sonic vs MX Mario (Vs. Sonic.EXE vs Mario â85)
Release date: 11th of October
Link: https://youtu.be/XpGOvxdZHQYÂ
Mini-review: Now, I tend not to watch horror content, so I donât know either of these characters (outside of vaguely knowing the Sonic.Exe creepypastaâs existence in general). That being said, the debate didnât seem very interesting, as it just seemed one character was better than the other in every way, and the animation didnât really sell these figures as being at all terrifying entities, instead just relying on shock value at the beginning before transitioning into a normal styled fight (however, based on what little I know of Sonic.Exeâs reputation, I suppose this is perfectly accurate to EXEs lmao). Oh and lastly, I think you should really reconsider doing the matchup if how you introduce one of the characters is implying theyâre a knock-off of the other. Just saying.
Death Battle
Blade vs Buffy (The Tomb of Dracula vs Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Release date: 12th of October
Link: https://youtu.be/r8uBiiig7tIÂ
Mini-review: That was actually a really good episode, it gives a comprehensive look at both characters and their stories, makes the fight seem conclusive without looking like a stomp, and the anima- wait sorry, this is live action - and the live action segment has really good pacing and choreography. Not to mention how it manages to handle both of them fighting a mutual foe really well (far better than Master Chief vs Doom Slayer), and utilises it to help build up towards the fight in question, complete with a very reasonable misunderstanding to trigger the fight. Just a really good episode, and one of the highlights for DB this year.
Realm of Gods
Tetris vs Jenga (... Tetris vs Jenga)
Release date: 24th of October
Link: https://youtu.be/_jbCdtjEyEIÂ
Mini-review: What a weird concept for a MU, and the episode delivered on the inherent absurdity, heavily compositing both sides to try and squeeze them into a vs context (complete with their own commanders so that thereâs some actual characters present). Not much more to say on it, but it was a fun time.
Character Clash
Spawn vs Dante (Spawn vs Devil May Cry)
Release date: 25th of October
Link: https://youtu.be/mi8vojkhQAYÂ
Mini-review: Uh yeah that was an alright episode. There are some details with scaling I find questionable, but overall the arguments sound rather reasonable, and the questionable areas arenât enough to change the result anyways. The fight wasnât incredible, but it was okay (though I found it hard to hear what Spawn was saying because of the technical quality of his voice lines), but had a super telegraphed fakeout into the 2nd phase of the fight. The kill was a nice touch, though.
Debate Club
Brightburn vs Andrew Detmer (Brightburn vs Chronicle)
Release date: 31st of October
Link: https://youtu.be/OLw8ked1xB8Â
Mini-review: The debate part of the episode only has actual calculation in it, but beyond that it was a fine enough job at digging into these charactersâ arsenals and create an interesting vs dynamic. As for the fight itself, ignoring the budget limitations it was pretty decent for a first 3D fight, though I do find it rather strange that the camera angle got dropped pretty quickly into the animation.
Cartoon Fight Club
Disbelief Papyrus vs I Hate You Luigi (Undertale Disbelief AU vs I Hate You trollpasta)
Release date: 31st of October
Link: https://youtu.be/7mvTENQrLpEÂ
Mini-review: The animation seemed rather neat, having some fluid and dynamic sprite battling, and with escalation as the castle theyâre fighting in gets more and more damaged. But Iâm confused why this matchup was chosen? Theyâre entirely different styles of fan content (Undertale AU vs a creepypasta troll parody), their characters go in very different directions (Papyrus grieving over his brother vs Luigi hating his brother), and the scaling is⌠Well, I canât really talk about the scaling without spoiling the ending, but letâs just say itâs rather baffling, at least to me.

Destructive Indie Yard #1: Freedom Planet vs Spark the Electric Jester
I would put the whole thing here, but you may recognise that it's an edited reupload of a post in this very blog, we do have new debates on the way, but we're retrofitting some old stuff first.
Mini-review: Pretty neat episode, looks nice with nice music, donât really have much more to say about the animation. I do find the efforts to make this debate seem even funny, but at the same time I understand nobody wants to be given the idea that their character had no options to win. It is a nice choice for the 200th episode, as a tribute to the late Monty Oum.

Fictional Characters Collide
Princess Peach vs Princess Zelda (composite) (Super Mario Bros. vs the Legend of Zelda)
Release date: 8th of July 2025
Link: https://youtu.be/HnwMiehZstkÂ
Mini-review: This episodeâs analysis was pretty funny, even if the pacing could be improved at parts (like the invincibility gag being too long), and I think the fight was pretty dynamic for a sprite battle, using their varied arsenals for interesting tools combat wise. Not much else to say, it was just solid for the most part.

Steve vs Mario (A Minecraft Movie vs the Super Mario Bros. Movie)
Release Date: 2nd of August
Link: https://youtu.be/P5nt2u7FBEkÂ
Mini-review: While this one does feel like action figures slamming against each other for the middle portion, there is still added dynamism to the fight via the intro, such as Jack Black- I mean Steve getting some of his weapons thanks to Jack Black and Jack Black (with the last one even prompting a fight over the gold sword). The ending felt a bit abrupt, but I did appreciate how it at least switched things up into a different type of fight beforehand. Though Marioâs arsenal wasnât utilised at all (besides a hammer because the sprite had it, Iâm not even sure the movie version uses a hammer at all), and the conclusion left a lot to be desired, as it only really went in-depth into their arsenals.
Fan Battle
Sinestro vs Morgoth (Green Lantern vs Lord of the Rings)
Release Date: 3rd of August
Link: https://youtu.be/-JVuUNo1Q9kÂ
Mini-review: It was alright, but after having seen the animated snippets of previous episodes, I kind of feel like this one would have benefited from some snippets to showcase what this particular matchup is capable of, when the ones we got - while fine - were kind of basic. Also, please just get a narrator for the text segments of the fight.
NOT-Death Battle
Doctor Manhattan vs Richard Nixon (Watchmen vs Monument Mythos)
Release Date: 23rd of August
Link: https://youtu.be/14uhKcEn53UÂ
Mini-review: This was such a strange episode. Manhattanâs analysis was rather normal, relative to other vs show analyses, but then Nixonâs analysis felt⌠Well, as focused as it could possibly be. Itâs a bit surreal, at first being confused why itâs spending so long talking about these other characters, only for the explanation to come in and it suddenly clicks why it felt so chaotic. And then the actual fight animation was an organic extension of the analysis, having Manhattan more so learning about Nixon than the two actively fighting each other. Itâs definitely an episode that executes its own concept so smoothly.
Death Battle
Hulk vs Godzilla (composite) (the Incredible Hulk vs Godzilla)
Release Date: 24th of August
Link: https://youtu.be/dIfwWXY5jpoÂ
Mini-review: The analysis portions were really well done, focusing on the characters as they normally are before pivoting to the more esoteric stuff near the end, to really highlight their power. Especially for Godzilla, which manages to make Singular Point seem like a natural part of the character. The fight itself carries on this theme, separated into two halves; one for the relatively simpler and more expected punchy punchy and then the latter half switches into the more esoteric and bizarre aspect. And the conclusion is probably one of the best conclusions theyâve made.
Fan Battle
Vilgax vs Ridley (Ben 10 vs Metroid)
Release Date: 31st of August
Link: https://youtu.be/a2hr1dWRTXcÂ
Mini-review: While it being almost fully animated is nice, I actually felt the animation itself wasnât very good, with the 3D segments frequently looking rather jank, and the 2D sprite segments feeling like theyâre just inserted randomly and donât do much. I also didnât like that the animation took Ridleyâs characterisation almost exclusively from the manga. SOME talking is fine, obviously, but itâs far from what most people know the character for, and it just doesnât come across as Ridley as a result. As for the analysis, I feel like the research on Ridleyâs end couldâve been done better (buffing AND nerfing the character in the process).

Vs shows I havenât covered before:Â
Nexus Battles
Pepsiman vs Marshall (PepsiCo vs Paw Patrol)
Release Date: 6th of July 2025
Link: https://youtu.be/RPN4ZAtqfx8Â
Mini-review: The casters, with their autotuned voice, are difficult to make out what theyâre saying, which obviously makes it difficult for me to dig into the analysis portion properly (browsing prior episodes, this problem used to be significantly worse). According to one of the comments, one calculation was incorrect (though it wonât affect the matchup). More importantly, however, they use screenshots of vs debate websites for on-screen sources for some of the abilities. Now, Iâm not one to say that you canât use other sites as a starting point for research (nor to use them for calculations), but if you canât show where an ability comes from (or the original calculation for a feat), then you should not put that into your video. Lastly, Iâm really not sure I agree with the verdict, for most categories it feels like really weird arguments were made. Really not a fan as it currently exists, but I hope it can get the chance to improve along the road.
Also, I wish I noticed this a month early purely to point out how two separate Vs shows both featured an episode of Pepsiman in the same month, hahah.

Chaos vs Lapis Lazuli (Sonic the Hedgehog vs Steven Universe)
Release date: 1st of July
Link: https://youtu.be/r_4UkohW7EI
Mini-review: I think the budget of the animation really hampered the kind of high scale fight it wanted to have, which I know is a really unfair criticism to have, but I canât help but feel it struggle between what it wanted to achieve and what it actually did. Besides that, it was good for what it was, even if Chaos 2 looked really off. Though, as a Sonic fan, I do take issue with presenting Chaos as some mindless beast, which even bled into the analysis as it was deemed to be âless mentally stableâ than Lapis. Also Iâm a bit confused about Chaosâs analysis saying that it âmightâ be a mutated chao, or that it âmightâ be a descendent from aliens, when neither of those are speculation - theyâre just straight up confirmed facts. Lastly, having a debate where one side has every single relevant advantage is a pet peeve of mine when it comes to vs debates, because at that point it leaves me questioning why even have a debate if itâs so one sided.

Fan Battle
King Arthur vs Robin Hood (Monty Python and the Holy Grail vs Robin Hood: Men in Tights)
Release date: 6th of July
Link: https://youtu.be/gmxvO8JmtP4
Mini-review: That was⌠something. Iâm not sure how I feel about the episode as a whole, but some of the jokes were pretty funny while others werenât, though from what I could tell there were a fair number of references to original jokes. The episode felt like it was slowly turning into chaos. Oh and shout out to the credits sequence, definitely best joke of the episode.
Fan War
Superman vs Homelander (Superman vs the Boys)
Release date: 19th of July
Link: https://youtu.be/BJMNiE19JkQ
Mini-review: A really funny episode that pokes fun at how one sided of a match-up this really is, to the point that one of the hosts rig things in favour of the losing character (who still loses). Itâs really difficult to talk about this episode without spoiling the winner outright (something I always avoid doing in these mini-reviews), so this is a bit short.
Oh and a 10% penalty for using an AI voice in the conclusion, setting it up doesnât change anything.
Death Battle
Spider-Man (Miles Morales) vs Deku (Spider-Man vs My Hero Acadamia)
Release date: 20th of July
Link: https://youtu.be/cE8Q2ndvOWU
Mini-review: Not my kind of episode. Sorry. Thereâs nothing about it thatâs bad per say, I just donât jive with the way they animated the fight (actual errors notwithstanding, like the janky web swinging or that absurdly awful death). That, coupled with the rather one-sided debate (one-sided enough that it even subtly came up in the fight animation) left little for me to really come away with. But hey, Iâd say itâs still good, just not to my tastes.
Realm of Gods
Gin Ichimaru vs Hazama (Bleach vs Blazblue)
Release date: 21st of July
Link: https://youtu.be/lMxWJjIW6tM
Mini-review: The episode starts out with an [word for telling people information] that, due to Dormanusâs sudden disappearance off the web, the episode got stuck into development hell and ultimately went unfinished. So, Iâll be gentle when critiquing it.
I found the audio mixing in the analysis portions strange, and the voice acting in the fight itself rather flat, but the fight itself did seem to have an understanding of Ginâs abilities and how theyâd play off Hazama. I know thatâs not much to say, but itâs only natural when Iâm not familiar enough with these characters for the debate, and the entire conclusion and half of one analysis is outright missing.
NOT-Death Battle
Mockbuster Avengers Battle Royale (Bulk vs Almighty Thor vs Captain Battle vs Metal Man) (The Incredible Bulk vs Almighty Thor vs Captain Battle: Legacy War vs Metal Man)
Release date: 27th of July (restored on 29th of July)
Link: https://youtu.be/p7xp39UlNXc
Mini-review: What a funny episode, delving into the stupid stuff all of these movies get up to, and also just how comically weak Captain Battle is, and the animation keeps up with focusing on the goofy bad movie energy that talking about these films all have, including a direct reference to the Bulkâs infamous run (though is thankfully much shorter).
Fan War
Pepsiman vs The Noid (PepsiCo vs Dominoâs)
Release date: 27th of July
Link: https://youtu.be/r-LG7JOvQvo
Mini-review: Was a pretty fun episode. Not a fan of them using crossover feats for both characters, but itâs not so egregious in this case as theyâre both food mascots rather without a serious story/lore/world. And the fight was pretty fun, using the silly chaos theyâve both come across to form a fun fight built around a dominoâs car delivering some pizza and some pepsi.
Cartoon Fight Club
GTA 5 Battle Royale (Franklin Clinton vs Micheal De Santa vs Trevor Philips)
Release date: 28th of July
Link: https://youtu.be/ia3BMuDrLNYÂ
Epilepsy warning
Near the end of the animation, the screen gains a rapid red and white flash.
Mini-review: This is the most ânot my thingâ battle Iâve seen this month. Not a fan of GTA in any regards, and as a same-franchise match-up there isnât as much allure to the debate than usual (unless youâre specifically a GTA 5 fan, of course). That being said, the cinematography was pretty well done this time, with a dynamic battle. My main negatives would be that the fight is largely divided into two one on ones and that awful red flashing near the end. I get itâs supposed to represent Trevorâs ability, but the full screen flashing uniform was just visually irritating.

Sakura vs Yuri (Street Fighter vs Art of Fighting)
Release Date: 7th of June
Link: https://youtu.be/ymCRNZGMq7AÂ
Mini-review: The show has the kind of technical polish indicative of a low budget, but if you can look past that itâs fine, the analysis feels like they gave a decent rundown of these characters, and the animation was fast paced the entire way through. The analysis was strange, especially the argument of a teleport nullifying a speed advantage (which reads to me as a misunderstanding of whatâs actually important about speed in a vs debate), but overall the conclusion seemed fair enough beyond the confusion of the peak potential being talked about before the âstandardâ power.
Fan Battle
Doctor Octopus vs Viktor (Spider-Man vs League of Legends)
Release Date: 8th of June
Link: https://youtube.com/watch?v=ZVos-jLes04Â
Mini-Review: The analysis dug into the characters decently well (though thereâs no avoiding missing some stuff for Otto due to the sheer bloat a long running franchise like the MCU has), dove into their abilities and powers rather well. The animation was fine enough for Fan Battleâs style, and I canât really argue with the conclusion. Itâs depressingly one sided, but thatâs still a, well, conclusive conclusion.
Death Battle
Wile E. Coyote vs Tom Cat (Looney Tunes vs Tom & Jerry)
Release Date: 22nd of June
Link: https://youtu.be/6BDk8SyGMNoÂ
Mini-Review: A very funny episode, definitely fits the silly feeling and stylings of the cartoons these characters come from. And the analysis sections, in turn, do provide a narrative framework for the characters while still focusing mainly on the goofy stuff theyâve built up over the years. I agree with the winner, but Iâm not entirely sure about their arguments for said winner. Ah well, still a very fun episode by the end.

Episodes I missed last month:Â
Realm of Gods
Ryuji vs. Joey Wheeler (Persona vs. Yu-Gi-Oh)
Release Date: 2nd of May
Link: https://youtu.be/5SK4rdXw-64Â
Mini-Review: Truth be told, this just isnât my kind of fight, so itâs hard to really like it for that. Despite that, the analysis worked fine enough, and the animation, while a bit stilted, did portray some semblance of strategy (although it also showed moments of baffling decisions, like Joey summoning a monster with a passive effect, making a moment of showing off that passive effect, and then immediately sacrificing it to summon another monster for, I guess, the iconography). The conclusion was fine enough, though it didnât sell me on the match-up being quite close enough. Sorry to hear about Dormonos having dropped off the internet, though.

Other older shows I have yet to cover an episode of (covered for the same reason I covered such episodes last recap):Â
Crossover Colosseum
King Boo vs Gengar (Super Mario Bros. vs Pokemon)
Release Date: 31st of October, 2023
Link: https://youtu.be/dMGY2eltWNAÂ
Before I give the mini-review, Iâd like to mention that the show seems to be coming back under a new team, so keep an eye out for their revival if you want to see Crossover Colosseum again.
The showâs (former) closure is also why the analysis isnât in the episode proper, and is instead a link in the comments section.
Mini-review: The animation is quite fun, and captures the chaotic fun of a silly Halloween themed match-up quite well, and they know how to keep upping the stakes. My biggest complaint in the animation is definitely the army fight, which felt like it had the worse choreography and the worse pacing, both sides just running at each other until the leaders decided to change into their âcostumesâ. As for scaling, Iâm left confused at the standards needed to get a stat considered applicable for this show, and I hope thatâs resolved when the show comes back.
Final Round
Aang vs Po (Avatar vs Kung Fu Panda)
Release Date: 9th of March, 2025
Link: https://youtu.be/Mh9t2D1GMlwÂ
Analysis portion available here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7bKpoTEajcf1_BpQpFjkgA/community?lb=UgkxEi3UvISy9SQDf2PFFUmfxuRaBpkxt2HWÂ
Mini-review: For the financial budget that went into this show (and thus the limitations of the sprites used), Iâd say the animation is choreographed decently - though some sections still feel a little slow or like one character just stands around and lets the other hit them. The analysis (besides being something I had to dig up instead of being in, say, a reply to a pinned comment on the video itself) is incredibly barebones, especially the experience category which doesnât really give anything. Skill? General intelligence? No, just raw experience, and only from one side.
Showoff Showdown
Arzette vs Asha (Arzette: the Jewel of Faramore vs Wonder Boy/Monster World)
Release Date: 22 of June, 2024
Link: https://youtu.be/_v2zXYj9dtQÂ
Mini-review: I donât like the style used for the animation, buuut since itâs clearly an homage to Arzette, which itself is an homage to CDi Zelda, I guess thatâs mission accomplished, since it is exactly that. As for the debate, Iâm not sure about the logic used for the multipliers and speed calcs, and those are kind of important to determining the result, so, while I have no idea on who Iâd say wins, Iâm not sure how much I trust the result. So uh⌠Yeah, thatâs the mini-review.
Smash Bracket (concluded)
Dark Pit vs Dark Samus (Kid Icarus vs Metroid)
Release Date: 2nd of March 2024
Link: https://youtu.be/C8RM-FdOCw8Â
RIP Smash Bracket, I hope the host has been recovering well. The showâs closure is also why the analysis is in the description rather than the episode itself.
Mini-review: The animation was fine enough, nothing exceptional but there weren't any problems I found with it. But I really heavily disagreed with the stats presented, and I can never quite understand what the cut-off point for their rules is (especially when Kirbyâs calc in an earlier episode just casually violates that cut-off point into dust) letâs just say that this is far from a unique instance for Smash Bracket. I found it especially baffling when they talked about how speed doesnât matter for Dark Samus, only to then deem speed an important factor in the conclusion.
Thunder Clash
Infinite vs. Shadow Mewtwo (Sonic the Hedgehog vs. Pokemon)
Release date: 5th of September, 2024
Link: https://youtu.be/ZDuMORNVnMMÂ
Mini-review: This oneâs a bit interesting in that it doesnât cover stats until after the fight, only giving a surface level overview in advance. As for the fight animation, I think itâs got some rather flashy sequences and good fight choreography, despite some technical issues - however, itâs characterisation is pretty abysmal, seemingly hyperfixated on making the characters as edgy as possible (especially given Shadow Mewtwo doesnât even talk/telepathically communicate). That being said, dunking on Infinite is much appreciated, and the ending is rather interesting. As for the scaling, boy, that sure is some scaling. Letâs just say that the winner was incredibly, massively overscaled.
Currently has a fundraiser active for their second episode, if you want more then feel free to donate here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/thunder-clash - worth noting that itâs been open for more than a year and has yet to meet its goal, so if youâre concerned about it being still in use I understand.
Fan-Made Death Battle (one-off)
Mario vs. Sonic (Super Mario Bros. vs. Sonic the Hedgehog)
Release date: 19th of October, 2024
Link: https://youtu.be/0DAepAGsqysÂ
Mini-review: The analysis was pretty fun and bouncy, giving a fun vibe to the characters and their adventures while building up the absurdity of not just what theyâre capable of, but just the sheer variety of stuff theyâve been in. The animation was alright, though I do feel the set-up for the fight was pretty poor. As for the results⌠Yeah, itâs pretty good. Goes into enough depth to make the conclusion pretty clear.
Even though itâs a one-off, I think itâs pretty good for what it is, and I think more people should-
âJeez, I hope the episode never gets popular.â
Oh. Uh. And judging by the comments being frozen, it looks like that was the case.

Mini-review: The rebrand is great, keeps the origin obvious while also being just a tad more distinct. Not sure about the result overall, but itâs mostly fine (only real area of contention is the way they composited Nessâs endgame power between the game and the manga, but that wouldnât change the result). Please get a narrator though, the on-text narration would be a lot better with a narrator complementing it.
Death Battle
Simon the Digger vs. Kyle Rayner (Gurren Lagann vs. White Lantern)
Release date: 25th of May
Link: https://youtu.be/5-M9tCRCKpw
Mini-review: The fight animation is absolutely incredible, though once I realised most of Simonâs dialogue was just quotes from his show it showed that the fight narrative was a bit lacking. The animation still definitely made up for it, though. I feel the conclusion is the weakest part, trying to abstract the categories to decide the winner, and ultimately relied on an unsubstantiated claim to justify their decision on who wins when there was another, far simpler argument to make for the same conclusion.
Vs Shows with no episode this month but that I wanted to mention since itâs the first recap:
Character Clash
Perfect Cell vs. Metal Sonic (Dragon Ball vs. Sonic the Hedgehog)
Release date: 15th of February, 2025
Link: https://youtu.be/cpbwaYYRlL4
Mini-review: The showâs first episode is very charming, and theyâve already figured out a good dynamic between the three character hosts off the bat. The fight animation itself is rather so-so, but suffers from major characterisation issues for Metal Sonic, often making him throw out quotes that probably sounded cool on paper, but lack in execution. And, while many of the categories made sense, some of the arguments made are, frankly, absurd. Iâd go into detail if it didnât spoil who won. Their first episode, while rough, is a solid start to the show, and I hope they manage to get to their 2nd episode soon.
Rewind Rumble
Yang vs. Sakura (RWBY vs. Naruto)
Release date: 5th of March, 2025
Link: https://youtu.be/MHhCt7uZ59Y
Mini-review: Horrendous audio mixing, every voice was either too loud or too quiet, and I had to constantly adjust my volume for that. To the point where I donât really know what any of the arguments or stats were due to this issue. The animation itself was also struggling, frequently including either strange pacing or moments that just felt visually cheap (most evocative when they presented Sakura rushing in by just using a still image and making said still larger). Needs better audio mixing, and a more succinct balance of animation budget (a shorter fight under the same budget could probably help with many of the issues I had with it).
NOT-Death Battle
Fulgore vs. Sektor 2 (Killer Instinct vs. Mortal Kombat)
Release date: 17th of March, 2025
Link: https://youtu.be/5bPbS1CsSic
Mini-review: as the only parody vs show mentioned, this one is the funniest, with a great running gag that Iâd talk about if it didnât spoil the victor. And itâs not just the running gag, thereâs individual jokes like correcting references to other franchises with what the actual moveâs name is. And the fight animation perfectly fits the humour, the fight narrative reinforcing the running gag (and the jank of the episode perfectly fitting the humour).
Cartoon Fight Club
Charlie and Pim vs. Mordecai and Rigby (Smiling Friends vs. Regular Show)
Release date: 22nd of March, 2025
Link: https://youtu.be/pMD5Bs-KwZ0
Mini-review: The animation was fine, but they used voice clips from the show. Normally, this would be fine, but they kept re-using the exact same voice clips repeatedly, and it got distracting rather quickly. In addition, despite being a 2v2 fight, almost all of the animation was of two separate 1v1 fights happening independently of each other (followed by another two 1v1s with swapped opponents, seemingly to try and address this). It also really didnât make much use of specific abilities from the characters, like Charlieâs armour or Mordecai & Rigbyâs Death Kwon Do. The conclusion felt a little disjointed, taking a while to dig into charactersâ stats before ending with a discussion about consistency.
Triple F (Fiery Fan Fights)
Starfire vs. Blaze (DC vs. Sonic the Hedgehog)
Release date: 26th of April, 2025
Link: https://youtu.be/lQT3jazYrMA
Mini-review: The hosts, being real people rather than just fictional characters, inject a lot of their own opinions and tastes into the analysis segments, but they manage to do so tastefully without injecting character bias into the analysis, and had mostly solid arguments for who they deemed won, with only a small handful of strange arguments. The fight animation, while carrying a rather good narrative within, suffers from some technical issues (like a distracting lack of awareness for the environments, the shift between sprites and animation occasionally being rather jarring, and some technical issues). Itâs frankly incredible that this is their 1st episode, knowing that this is their equivalent to a bumpy start all vs shows will run into.
This beam travels from this point to the end of the screen in 3 frames (likely further, but to keep the calculation on a conservative end Iâll pretend this is the limit within 3 frames).
Diameter of the moon = 1357 pixels (3474 kilometres)
Initial distance of the beam: 538 pixels (1377.31171702 kilometres)
Final distance of the beam: 1224 pixels (3133.51215917 kilometres)
Timeframe: 3 frames (1/20th of a second)
Beam speed: 35,124,008.8 m/s aka 11.71611% the speed of light.
Freom Mk. II could react to this beam at its smallest size, who Super Spark can react to, who should be equal in stats to Super Fark, who regular Spark could react to, so he should downscale (only in reaction speed). Not to mention that Freom initially planned for Fark to kill him in the first place. Or how in the alternate timeline of Farkâs story, Fark could fight a nanomachine recreation of Freom Mk. I and Mk. II (with the mind of the actual Freom inhabiting them), with both regular Fark and Super Fark being able to react to his attacks.
