I am not the happiest about how this turned out, but I think it is mostly a posing issue. (plus, i feel a little off today.) Ultimately, it is an improvement on the previous design, and that is the entire point. I will sand out the edges in the next revision.
Did this ahead of schedule for the ask! Montenegroβs design has already been posted, and it is a fair bit better than this one. Since I really only use a roster of about 30 countries for stories and art, most countries I just have never used for anything substantial; resulting in me drawing a blank. For Peru, I wanted to give him something akin to what Countryhumans artists often do for a hat. So, national animal hat. :P

Countryhumans AU: Nation Nature πΊοΈ
1. Nations remained nameless (human name wise) for years, until the 50's during a UN meeting an unnamed world leader mentioned in their speech that not letting them have names was dehumanising. Since then nations started giving themselves names, some picked the name themselves, others asked their bosses, others asked people they loved. Even if nations look human they werenβt treated like humans, more like tools.
2. Nations can be born from different ways. One of them is being born & from a tree or being born due to two nations. Or in really special cases, a nation and a human.
3. When a nation dies they turn into golden dust that can be planted for it to become a tree. There's also a chance for a nation to revive if they've been wiped off the map and established again. (ex: Poland)
4. Nations cannot date even if they feel romantic feelings towards each other. The rule tends to be broken in secret not to cause any diplomatic drama or shade towards nations. Though, it is allowed for nations to date if they are in a union. (Ex: Bohemia and Slovakia during Czechoslovakia). Itβs not a rule but itβs strongly frowned upon by humans.
5. Nations cannot die unless their nation is disappearing, for nation to die it must be out of the map. They can regenerate, they'll do better if their country is in good condition. They can loose limbs and not regenerate them, but it's quite rare.
6. Nations can eat, but they don't need to do it. Though, eating food from their country can give them serotonin boosts.
7. They are born knowing their own language by heart. Nations also have an easier time learning foreign languages, even easier time if the language is similar to their native one.
8. Nations are public figures in their own countries and even internationally. Their identities are public, people don't treat them as deities but as someone to appreciate.
9. They have diplomatic immunity around the world. Though for legal and diplomatic reasons they must inform when they are staying more than a week on a foreign country.
10. Nations have an official "handler", they are like a secretary to them. Being a nation handler is taken as a big honor internationally and within their own country.
