Chance shown it’s light on me

To be known by you within this life

I can’t be that lucky

To be yours, and yours, and always yours

With gentle hands

To shield me from the pain

My self inflicted wounds

Just to feel alive

But living seems so different

A serene place to be

Lost in the eyes

And touch of love

From her touch

I’ve always wanted from life

Is to see through another’s eyes

To gain their perspective

Understand why they think

How they feel

But I can’t

The best I can do

Is make a good guess

Even if I know you

And I feel that I do

More than myself sometimes

Still, its not enough

I can’t say I will ever

understand your pain

But I know that you feel it

I can’t promise I can take it away

But I will help you carry it

As beat up and battered

And withered as it may be

I see everything through you

Reflections from your light

Show my eyes what is real

You are the north star

In the night

Radiating white fire

My illuminating light

If you are not the center

Of this universe I know

You are the fabric

All the time

I don’t look for the thoughts

They usually find me

And when they do

I feel bliss

A slow motion high

Everything feels warmer

More vibrant

Like a haze was stripped from the world

I don’t know how

The world can look like this

How I’ve never seen these colors

But they’re here

Like nothing I’ve felt before

It is this breaking feeling

Like the world is straining

To keep us apart

Because ultimately

The earth will fall away

And crumble to pieces

For when we do

It will feel like the apocalypse

Where does a soul go

When it’s complementary half

Is gone

Hidden away in reservation

It searches

Poking

Nudging

Through the void

Through the darkness

As if some signal could reach

It’s delinquent duo

Lost away in infinity

Wanting to play

And tangle

And dance

With its mate

Coexisting

Twisting

The partner in crime

Somewhere astray

Feeling divine attraction

Yet always knowing

The time to be found

The words vibrate

In my mind

In my eyes

Steering my pupils

To the back of my head

With a seductive embrace

Stopping time

In the world

But more so in my mind

Frozen thoughts

Searching for relief

In the answers they will

Never reach

But maybe someday

This spinning will stop

And point me

To where you are

Existing in all directions

Covering my earth

With your loving horizon

Everywhere I look is you

The sun

The moon

The stars

And if they all fell away

In the silent darkness

To its hypnotic rhythm

Sleep comes in waves

Gently pulling me out to sea

Vast blanket of endless thought

My eyelids flutter with the call

Of the sirens

Is this home?

By an unforgiving tide

Tossed out, I turn and wonder

If the moon still presides over me

Casting its light

Brighter than any other

Through these clouded skies

To hold me through the night

I can only glance up

Are you there?

The time has passed

for a rainy day?

To shield you from the downpour?

Why am I not there to protect you

from this incessant storm

From the wrath of the world.

The inevitable ends we all face.

I give everything

Every fraction

To keep you safe.

Its selfless sacrifice in vain

Pain doesn't end

This rain falls on us all

I don’t know what to do with you

And the indecision kills me

I want to spill out all that I am

But to do so would cause you to overflow

And collapse under the weight of my love

So I will contain myself as best I can

Though my heart may seep from time to time

Like a broken faucet

A drip falling out

From the collective pool that is everything

That makes me who I am

And you find yourself there

In that single molecule of love

And I fear this crumbling dam

Will break away

And fall apart

Flooding all there is
