Was thrilled to finally photograph the extremely rare Himalayan blue poppy on display only for a few short weeks each year at Longwood Gardens. Native to the high elevations of the Himalayan mountains and almost extinct in the wild, these poppies will only blossom in temperatures below sixty degrees for a few weeks before the blooms fade and the plants die after seeding.
