in this universe, gender norms are strictly important and taught in schools, omegas and alphas have to take madatory "omega etiquette" or "alpha etiquette" classes where they're taught how to be behave like their secondary gender requires. secondary genders have been around for just some time (100/150/200 years?) so there are still a lot of regolamentatiom about it. there is a sort of oligarchy (disguised as democracy) since alphas got the power by force, claiming they were the most fit to be in that position— that however lead to a really alpha-centric view of society where other genders are viewed as lesser than.

all parents hope their children will become alpha because alphas hold the highest positions in society and face little to no discrimination.

alpha/alpha and omega/omega relationship are forbidden by the law. Since only omegas and betas can get pregnant, omega/omega and alpha/alpha relationships wouldn't bring children to society. betas can get pregnant (if afab) or get people pregnant (if amab) but their sperm is weaker than alphas and their chances of getting pregnant are lower than omegas. omegas can get pregnant and alphas can get people pregnant regardless of their primary gender.

primary and secondary school are accessible to all, but there is still a lot of discrimination in university, in many faculties omegas are not allowed to enroll at all— mainly marketing etc.

rich families often marry off their omega children to alphas from other packs to ensure a benevolent relationship from pack to pack and political or business alliances.
