You might have seen these in old churches. This is what it sounds like.
The one in this video is in the church of Encamp (Andorra). It was made in the 18th century to sound similar to birds' singing. It rings three times every year: on Corpus Christi, the Feast of the Ascension, and Christmas.
Video from Campanes Andorranes on Instagram.

You watch movies and television and popculture will have you believe that our ancestors who started off in caves lived in dark, dirty, damp and sparse ones.
But I bet they were actually nice. I can see them weaving grass into mats and lining the floors. I would even put money down that mats were one of our earliest inventions because lying down on bare cold cave dirt floors was a good way to get hypothermia. To prevent this, we probably laid down dried grass. And then someone figured out how to weave that grass into more comfortable mats that were easier to move around.
Then came the lamps. There had to be lamps. They were in naturally dark caves. Lamps were a necessity because of this. They were probably another one of our earliest inventions. Something to light up every corner of the cave so you can see where to put down your mat.
Then came baskets and bowls. A collection of them to use to gather things.
In between, our ancestors decorated the walls with paintings.
You know there were furs and hides everywhere. Furs and hides for blankets. Furs and hides for clothing. And if you have clothing, you had jewelry. This is also one of our oldest inventions. Beads everywhere.
Add a fire pit because while lamps give light, you are going need a bigger fire for warmth.
Add some more art in the way of carvings and clay figures. Maybe they were for decoration. Maybe they were there for religious reasons. Either way, they were there.
Suddenly that supposedly dark, sparse cave is starting to look cozy.
That's how it probably was. Something that the modern person would walk into and go, "Ohhhh, I could take a nap here." Something that looks very human.
Yknow the lil fanfic trope where a character, usually non-human, purrs like a cat. In this case it would obviously be Rocky but what if it was Grace instead hear me out-
since a lot of people are confused who i’ve been talking about i wanted to explain! this is james ortiz, rocky’s lead puppeteer & voice actor! here is a random selection of photos from google images:
he stepped up to live voice rocky on the spot (he and ryan gosling improvised a large portion of the scenes) before being chosen to be rocky’s final voice. he also did the scary & sexy voices they test out, and he has a cameo in the film as the tv interviewer:
he’s italian & puerto rican and openly gay. here he is with rocky himself:

Richard of Wallingford – Scientist of the Day
Richard of Wallingford, an English abbot and astronomer, was born in Wallingford England, around 1292, and died at St. Albans in 1336, at the age of 44 or so.

Mechanical clocks were new in the 14th century, if we mean clocks that struck the hours. Some think they came out of Italy,... some see England as the birthplace. The latter group points to Richard as evidence, for he designed the most sophisticated mechanical clock to date around 1328-30. It not only told the time and struck the hours, it tracked the Moon and Sun and the other 5 planets, displayed the phase of the Moon and even eclipsed it at the appropriate times, and, as a bonus, showed the time of afternoon high tide at London Bridge. Richard died before the clock could be built, but it was constructed according to Richard's written directions and placed in the south transept in St. Albans in 1356, where John Leland marveled at it 200 years later, just before Henry VIII dissolved the English monasteries, looted St. Albans, and destroyed the clock.
