morning activity: wave chasing

Nova is going to be 8 next month. I can already tell he is aging, he’s still got his energy but he gets tired a lot quicker. After just one day with the family, he was tired and taking lots of naps & not participating in all the fun like he used to. I think his hips aren’t as young as they used to be too—the way he sits and lays down only on one side, reluctant to stand up etc. I’ve talked to his vet about it (a lot lol) but she thinks he’s fine, he’s just not a young puppy anymore. He still barks like I haven’t heard him the first twenty times and he still gets that puppy energy when we do something he likes, but then he sleeps and sleeps and sleeps. 8 years I’ve had him already. Time just flies by, and I’m counting on another 8 years with him, but it makes me so sad to see him slow down. I know he wants to do all the things still, but his body says otherwise.
