[F4M] Adv Lit - Original Royal Plot or ASOIAF, Long-Term Partner Wanted
Hi hi! 25F returning to the search after a long stretch of inactive partners, hoping to find someone new (or returning) to write with. I've got two options on the table: an original plot I've been brewing for a while, and an ASOIAF roleplay as a backup if the original doesn't grab you. Pick whichever sings to you and let me know.
The Original Plot
She is the only daughter and heir to a king who rules a sprawling, prosperous kingdom that has known generations of peace. To the court she's the jewel of the realm, all poise and elegance, but beneath the gowns and pleasantries lives a sharp, calculating woman who wants far more than her father is willing to give her. He sees alliances where she sees vulnerabilities, extends a hand where she would close a fist. She believes their kingdom should be the greatest in the known world, with the largest army, the strongest fortifications, the deepest coffers, and she has spent years whispering counsel into her father's ear only to be brushed aside time and again. He is too kind, too just, too unwilling to break the treaties and traditions that have kept the realm stable for decades. She loves him. She also resents him for it.
Chief among her suspicions is the neighboring kingdom to their borders, one that has long stood beside theirs in alliance. The two crowns share an old treaty: her father's lands provide grain, livestock, and timber, while their neighbor's mountain-rich territory supplies iron, gold, silver, and precious minerals. The arrangement has kept both peoples fed and armed for over a century, and royal envoys cross the borders with every season. To everyone else, the bond is unshakable. To her, it is a noose waiting to tighten. She has never trusted them, not really, and when the crown prince of that kingdom is to visit her father's court for the season, she sees both a threat and an opportunity sitting at the same table.
What she truly wants, though, is far grander than mere information or alliance management. She has seen the maps. She has tallied the soldiers, counted the ports, weighed the coin and the steel. A union of their two kingdoms, joined not by treaty but by blood, would forge the single most powerful realm the continent has ever known. Combined armies, combined resources, combined borders stretching from coast to mountain range. No sovereign in the surrounding lands would dare lift a sword against such a thing. It is the kingdom she has dreamed of since she was old enough to understand what power was, and the crown prince of her neighbor is the key that could unlock it. So she sets her sights on him, on his family, on positioning herself as indispensable to their court. If she can endear herself, plant herself in their good graces, and make herself impossible to refuse, she may yet engineer the union her father would never approve of in his lifetime. And should the prince's parents meet some unfortunate end down the road, leaving him the crown of his own kingdom while she rules hers, then suddenly the union she has spent years scheming for becomes not just possible, but inevitable. (His parents are fair game, by the way. Illness, accident, war, whatever you'd want to write toward. Plenty of room for you to shape his arc and his rise.)
Then there is the matter of her betrothal. Her father, in his refusal to use her as a piece on the political board, has promised her hand to a lower noble of his own choosing. A sweet, well-meaning, hopelessly infatuated man who fancies himself a poet and follows her about with sonnets about her hair, her eyes, the angle of her chin in candlelight. He brings a lute everywhere he goes, sings beneath her balcony at hours no creature should be awake, and writes her verses so saccharine she has dreamed of setting them aflame in front of him. She loathes him. He is the very last thing she wants, and from the moment the betrothal was announced she has been turning over every possible way to break it. The betrothal is also, of course, a direct obstacle to her larger ambitions. She cannot marry into power if she is already promised to a man who writes ballads about her ankles.
Enter your character, the crown prince of the neighboring kingdom, arriving for diplomatic stays and royal courtesies. You can play him however you'd like: kind and noble, cunning and cold, wry and clever, reluctant and brooding, whatever suits you best. What I do hope is that he comes with a younger brother in tow, because part of her scheme involves befriending your character's family through the brother. A calculated warmth, a feigned softness, an attempt to plant herself near your court to extract whatever truths she can about their intentions. Of course, the more time she actually spends near your character himself, the more her hardness begins to give way against her will. She does not want to soften. She fights it tooth and nail. The slow unraveling of a woman like her, by someone she did not expect to want, is the heart of what I'd love to write.
There's so much room to play here: court politics, intercepted letters, secret meetings, dangerous alliances, the looming wedding she's trying to dismantle, the brother realizing he's being used and reacting accordingly, your character uncovering her schemes and choosing what to do with that knowledge. Slow burn, scheming, enemies to lovers, betrayal, redemption, all of it on the table. War and upheaval are welcome down the line if we vibe.
The Other Option (ASOIAF)
If the original isn't your thing, I'm also open to an ASOIAF roleplay. I'm a longtime fan, comfortable across HOTD or the main saga, and happy to discuss OCs, canon, or a mix. F4M, OC x OC preferred, no doubling up, and I've got a lot of lore in my pocket to pull from.
About Me / What I'm Looking For
I'm advanced literate and up. My replies tend to run no less than 4-5 paragraphs and often more depending on the scene. I write in third person past tense, prose-heavy, with a focus on interiority, atmosphere, and dialogue that pulls its own weight. I prefer my partners to play males, and I'm most comfortable with female writers playing male characters. That said, if you're a male writer who's genuinely interested in writing with me, please don't feel discouraged from reaching out. Whatever works.
Now for the blunt part. If you are someone who tends to vanish mid roleplay, ghost without a word, or go missing for weeks at a time without communication, please don't message me. I have been burned too many times by partners who fizzled out without so much as a "hey, I think I'm losing interest" message, and I'm no longer willing to pour myself into stories that don't get the chance to grow. I'm not asking for daily replies. Life happens. I have ADHD myself and I know schedules can be chaos. All I'm asking is that you communicate. A quick "busy week, will reply soon" or "I think I'm fading on this" costs you nothing and saves us both the frustration.
If you'd like to write together, please send me an introduction. Your age (21+), your timezone, a little about yourself, what you'd want to bring to the plot, and any preferences I should know about. A small writing sample is appreciated but not mandatory; we can also feel each other out through OOC chatter first if that's more your speed.
