sorry im upset and i need people to understand
when you support the US military this is what you support
The following contains graphic imagery, but ive intentionally excluded anything directly depicting dead bodies. tumblr limits me to 10 images on this post or it could be flooded with far, far more.
prisoner comforting their child, Iraq, 2003
Iraqi prisoner held by the US, ~2003
destruction of Vietnam, 1968
A vietnamese soldier shortly before being executed. 1968
children with hydrocephalus from agent orange, which the USA sprayed 12 million gallons indiscriminately on to Vietnam
Korea, near pyongyang, completely flattened by US bombs, 1953
Libya after bombings by the US, ~2012
Do these not get to you? Can you see these and continue to defend the people doing their paperwork just because they didnt personally kill anyone? If they seem bad but you cant bring yourself to condemn them, What if i show you pictures from the US? Does this change anything for you?
U.S. (philidelphia), soon after the 1985 MOVE bombing which killed several Black radicals and 5 children
aftermath of the assassination of Fred Hampton, who was shot in his sleep by the FBI, 1969
If the first images flow by as anonymized destruction, but the last two hit you more directly, ask yourself why that is? Why do you view these differently just because of where on the globe they happened?
What difference does it make when the people killed are inside the US or outside? When the bombs are dropped domestically or elsewhere? do people not bleed to same everywhere in the world? Do their buildings not explode just the same? are the poisoned children not important to you?
its not just a nightmare when it happens within the US at the hands of the police. The U.S. is a global force of terror and even working with them as a janitor for college money makes you a collaborator.
The U.S. kills on a drastic scale, millions and millions of people globally, the vast majority of which being civilians. can you look me dead in the eyes and tell me that cops are bastards but military members shouldn't be shamed?
Calley led the US Army platoon that carried out the mass murder of hundreds of civilians, including women and children, in the Vietnamese village of Son My in 1968. He was sentenced to life in prison in 1971 for killing 22 civilians, but only served three days behind bars after then-President Richard Nixon ordered his release under house arrest. The My Lai massacre, known as the Son My massacre in Vietnam, is considered among the worst war crimes in American military history. The killings shocked the US public at the time and galvanised the anti-Vietnam war movement. According to the Vietnamese government, 504 people were killed in the massacre. [note the passive voice] Calley, a junior college dropout from South Florida, enlisted in the army in 1964. He was quickly promoted to junior officer and then second lieutenant, at a time when the US army was desperate for soldiers. On the morning of 16 March 1968, Calley’s unit was airlifted to a hamlet in Son My - known to US soldiers at the time as My Lai 4 - on a mission to search and kill Viet Cong members and sympathisers. When they arrived, the officers were met with no resistance from the residents of the village, who were found cooking breakfast over outdoor fires, according to a 1972 report by journalist Seymour Hersh in the New Yorker. Mr Hersh reported that Calley and his unit proceeded to kill the civilians in the following hours. Many were rounded up in small groups and shot, he said. Others were pushed into a drainage ditch and shot, or were killed in or near their homes. Women and girls were raped by American officers and then murdered, Mr Hersh reported. The massacre was initially covered up but became public a year and a half later, thanks in large part to Mr Hersh’s reporting, which earned him a Pulitzer Prize. Calley was one of 26 soldiers who were charged with criminal offences and the only one convicted.
I just survived a bombing and what was almost certain death.
Shrapnel flew around us and killed a little child before my eyes. He was the last child his mother had left.
If I do not die from illness, I may die from the bombing. Please do not forget my little siblings after I am gone.

It's been said before but it bears repeating that a significant part of the failing and regression of the feminist movement in the US is specifically because most people in the movement were willing to renege on any point that benefitted trans women. Ladder pulling has been a mainstay of progressive movements in general of course and this points to the general ephemeral nature of these movements when they aren't revolutionary

I don't know who needs to hear this but... You can just say someone's self-centric instead of labeling them narcissist. You can say someone has a taste for cruelty instead of calling them psychopath or sociopath. You can just say someone is quick to anger instead of calling them bipolar. You can just describe the abuse someone did to you instead of labeling it as a disorder. You shouldn't use disorder as an insult. You should know that a lack of empathy doesn't mean a lack of humanity or goodness, you can still learn what is alright and not alright and act on it. You should maybe stops and realize you are vilainizing people, people who could be victims as much as they could be 'the villains'. Those are people. Stop arm chair diagnosing your abuser or anyone you think is unnice with very serious disorders you are making those out as "evil disorder". A disorder doesn't equal abuse and it's very dangerous to promote it that way. A disorder doesn't fully define everyone and that applies to every one of them.

Raneen, @a00h2, is my friend. She is trapped in Gaza, Palestine, with her family. She lost everything in the bombings and is now in poverty and homelesness. Her 1-year-old baby has cancer; she needs to pay $5,000 more this month for him to finally access life-saving treatment.
My friend doesn't have that money. She can't help him alone. Please, I beg you, donate, whatever you can. $40, $20, $10, $5, whatever you can, it will all be useful. Thank you so much.
Her account is vetted by @90-ghost here, by @gazavetters (#576) , and by @bilal-salah0. This Chuffed fundraiser goes directly to her; for transparency, you can dm @a00h2 if you want to confirm it.

Other people have said this already but the idea that the police as a concept is ontologically tainted and morally bad is very much not compatible with communist thought. We need to understand that they exist as the arm of the state to enforce the will of the ruling class, and when the ruling class is the proletariat, the police will exist to enforce our will.

the "humans are naturally greedy" argument is one of capitalism's oldest myths. if humans were naturally greedy above all else, our species would have died out long ago. humanity survived because people shared food, cared for one another, and worked together. cooperation built societies, greed built fortunes. don't confuse the values of capitalism with the nature of humanity.

August 1, 2026 - Every morning in Gaza, the search for water begins.
Video journalist Bisan Owda follows children carrying heavy water containers, families waiting for water trucks, and the people working to keep one of the few desalination plants still running.
Along the way, Bisan reveals what has been destroyed, why clean water has become so hard to find, and what it now takes to provide water for millions of people in Gaza. [video]
You can donate to help people in Gaza get access to clean water! If you have any money to spare at all, please donate to this Bisan-recommended org, Ele Elna Elak: https://eleelnaelak.org/ Or to the Gaza municipality directly, so they can pay fheir local engineers, rebuild infrastructure that was destroyed by Israel, and keep the desalination plants running: https://gaza-city.ensany.com/campaign/6737?lang=en

Hey um. Planned Parenthood incorrectly scheduled and then canceled my estrogen consultation so it will be a bit before I can be seen at either closest location to me.
In the mean time, some waxing strips, hair care stuff including dye or quality cutting utensils and a bit money for ear piercings would honestly help me feel less dysphoric and more like myself.
I hate asking for this help but it's kind of one of the main things fucking with my mental stability in this chapter of my life.

what makes Israeli soldiers walk out of the Sde Teiman detention camp en mass is their commander destroying their trinkets, not any concern for the Palestinians in there being tortured. and Zionists wonder why they constantly get compared to the Nazis
On July 30, roughly 100 soldiers from the Givati Brigade’s Tzabar Battalion left Sde Teiman without permission after their battalion commander took a sledgehammer to the decorative plaques they had hung.

All the healthcare workers interviewed provided similar accounts of mistreatment in Israeli custody. After being in Gaza, they were deported to detention facilities in Israel, including the Sde Teiman military base in the Negev desert and Ashkelon prison, or, forcibly transferred to the Anatot military base near East Jerusalem and the Ofer detention facility, in the occupied West Bank. All said that they were stripped, beaten, and blindfolded and handcuffed, for many weeks on end, and pressured to confess to being members of the Hamas movement with various threats of indefinite detention, rape, and killing their families in Gaza.
A surgeon said he was “wearing scrubs and Crocs” when Israeli forces detained him during their siege of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, Gaza, in December. “We were 50 healthcare workers, including nurses and doctors,” he said. “The soldier on the microphone ordered men and boys over 15 years old to evacuate the hospital.... When they took us out of the hospital, they told us to undress and stay in our underwear.”
One paramedic said that at the Sde Teiman detention facility he was suspended from a chain attached to handcuffs, electroshocked, denied medical care for broken ribs caused by beatings, and administered what he believed was a psychoactive drug before interrogations. “It was so degrading, it was unbelievable,” he said. “I was helping people as a paramedic, I never expected something like this.”
