in a new city, law liked to use all the tools at his disposal for gathering information. that included a number of apps, both social and otherwise, where information came directly from the source. sometimes there were scams, of course, but most of the time, he got what he needed. plus, a few extra incentives.
pocketing his device, he followed the map already sketched out in his head to the meeting place the other party had arranged. the sun was still out, which made this quite unusual, but he had been chasing something out of the ordinary these days. an itch, a call, a song beneath his skin. could this person hold the answers?
holding onto that small bit of hope, he spotted his mark soon enough by those telltale curls. the images he'd been sent matched the real person too, which was a bit of a relief. law offered a friendly smile as he settled beside the other man, one arm slinging itself across the bench, looking pointedly around before casting a sidelong glance at him.
“law_of_verse here.” a quick, sideways finger salute. “so, this is a weird question. uh, please feel free to disregard it if you just wanna go ahead with the hookup, but… are you here in new york because something called you here?”
photo meet photo. nowhere near the first time niko's met a man based on an image, a line of text, an implication; this time felt a little...weightier. like that pull dragging him onwards wanted him in this spot, this very spot, meeting this very man.
"didn't ask you here to fuck," he admits, giving the kindness of a small grin. "sounds like you're someone I should be looking for. someone not from around here, someone not sure what they're doing here, someone..." he turns his phone, knowing, indicating just how many other men of their ilk were wandering around the locale. "walked out of a pretty nice setup to get here. so I'm hoping to figure out what it is sooner rather than later." men like yuri didn't grow on trees. sliding back into the world of charts and futures would be much easier with some padding in his pockets, but he'd rather not have to. not if a feeling this strong could take him somewhere solid.
shifting as he sits, he doesn't react or pull away if he bumps that arm along the bench. "call me niko."
