I really, really dig your Beta A/B/O fic, it's super unique and I love the worldbuilding in it! (I actually think I like it more than traditional A/B/O, it feels safer(?) almost. The structure of the world feels more balanced.) Betas are truly underutilized in the A/B/O fandom space in general. I love the way Aizawa seems to find Betas more secure than the other counter parts and how it stems from his childhood of abuse and being parentified at such a young age. The way that plays into the dynamic of Shinsou who is fully grown now and ready to switch the caretaking aspect on its head, it gets me giggling how befuddled Aizawa is by it every time. "Oh, my former mentee who I took care of wants to now take care of me? Mind blown! Quick, someone give me space, I need to have a mental breakdown first!" Just a really fun way to flip their relationship dynamic and societal power structure! I also really like the aspect of Shinsou not really knowing stuff that are considered common knowledge to Alphas and Omegas, what a fun detail to put! Maybe he never gave it much thought or was never really taught it because it never could apply to him, right? And I love the difference between more traditional vs modern courting you put in! That's so fun! The way their ID's play with each other and change how they interact makes me swoon, they have no right being that romantic! Gives me a heart attack everytime!
Your dystopia A/B/O series is a banger, too! The worldbuilding you put in there is chef's kiss! And I enjoy how heats are considered painful if you're not paired with someone. Don't get me wrong, I like the whole aspect of heats being a "sexy" topic in fics but the take of heats being actually very painful is very cool to me, but maybe it's because I view it with the lens of how a period cycle is. The A/B/O trope mixed with an almost marriage law trope but darker in a dystopian setting is super enjoyable. Especially because your writing lends itself to the characters by having the world they live in affect every aspect of the way they act around gender and sex norms. I found Yamada a very intriguing topic throught the series, in the first part of the series he's sort of like the ghost haunting Aizawa through the first fic, and when you meet him you can tell he's way more comfortable or at least garnered a little bit of peace with the situation that they were all put in. At least, more than Aizawa. Shinsou, too, seemed more comfortable with his dynamic in life but is very self aware about the position he was put it, it made me wonder if Yamada's peace with it also formed a little from the privilege he has in the world as an alpha. He took much more liberties than Aizawa and Shinsou combined when sex was brought into the equation. It really made me crave his POV more because I was almost questioning his motivations throughout the story. Well, at least until we got to the ending. Already love the next part and the way Hitoshi's pregnancy effect the dynamics between all of them, or how it effects them more considering they can't keep their hands off him already! Also Nezu being so sly made me giggle, love that rat bastard.
No pressure at all to update or write! Just wanted to take the time to tell you how much I appreciate your stories and how good of a writer you are! I hope you're taking care of yourself and that you have a wonderful day you amazing human being! ❤️
You're so sweet to me!! 😭🩶🩶
My (I guess) Betaverse ABO was something I wanted to do for a long time, but I wasn't sure how much fun it would be for others without all the extra animalistic aspects that I think makes Omegaverse ABO so appealing. So I added some of those aspects back in and explained them to make sense of betas, and then I had more ideas about how a world like that might operate tenuously with their social stalemates. The plot is, honestly, really fun for me buuuut I feel like I need to focus more on the relationship since I've consigned it to public viewing -- I write so much as it is, and I'm pretty sure people only follow me for the smut😅
For Plum Whiskey, a lot of the ideas that show up in it are sort of stitched together from all over the greater internet omegaverse. I've been there for most omegaverse generations/trends over the years, there are no original ideas anymore, yadda yadda. But PW is more of a passion project. I wrote it in a really dark place, then I deleted it in darker place, and eventually put it back up because things just keep getting worse and Plum Whiskey is my little rebellion. It's lightly political and I don't really hide that about it. I think I would probably rewrite it entirely at this stage but I've already reposted it once so-
I meant to have more oneshots to capitalize on Yamada and his relationship to both Aizawa and Shinsou separately since PW is Shinzawa-centric, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I hadn't even meant to start the second part so soon, but there was a lot going on in my country at the time (well there's still a lot going on but it's harder to write racism and war into my horny omegaverse story than gender-based systemic oppression). The goal is for Aizawa and Yamada to take up the same amount of space, even if there's less of it because it's a very Hitoshi-centric piece. (And, if it isn't obvious, the whole thing is already written in shorthand so the only reason you haven't seen it yet is because I can't seem to get myself together to write properly.)
It's every writer's dream to find people who interact with their words this much 🥹 I'm glad to have given you what was surely hours of content to pass the time with. I'm always blown away by strangers taking time out of their day to write to me at all, but this especially must've been a good chunk of free time for you. I appreciate your minutes (and probably hours for all the reading you've done)! <3
Thank you! And if you ever have questions or concerns, always feel free to ask on either platform. I'm obnoxiously chatty and verbose, as you can see.
