The blogger at @washok befriended me over private message a few years ago. I had many exchanges with the @washok blog over the past 3 years over chat and email. The bio always said this was a Mi’kmaq gay woman. The blog mostly posts political memes but also some longer personal posts that seemed heartfelt. This person appeared to be knowledgeable about FN poets, writers, and artists. This past March, however, this person sent me a distressed email and appeared to have disappeared.

This month, however, I received these disturbing emails from her and her cousin’s account.

It did not make a lot of sense to me because the Michaela tumblr (@washok) was an LGBT Mi’kmaq blog apparently run by a gay person.

Michaela had also said she was cousins with Chantal John, an MMIW victim who was murdered this year by Kirk Keeping, and she said she had gone to the Keeping trial this year.  She had mentioned going back to Eskasoni to help out due to the spate of suicides that occurred this year. This person had also talked about praying for me in the women’s prayer circle. So there are many aspects that are profoundly hurtful and unethical, if found to be a fictitious narrative for who knows what purpose.

If this person exists at all, I hope she is found safe. But if this is some kind of fraud, I hope the woman and family in all the photos I received is identified and the perpetrator held accountable, if they stole photos and impersonated someone. If you have seen this person kindly let her know this is going on.

I’ve been living with my fiance since January this year, and things have been okay for the most part. His family knows I’m trans, and they were using my correct names and pronouns. I’m 12 weeks pregnant currently.

But recently, my future mother-in-law found out my deadname, and when she found out I was pregnant, refuses to call me a man and has been buying me feminine clothing and products. She calls me by my deadname, out in public, when the place we’re living in is not friendly towards Latinos. She also is extremely mentally unstable, refusing to get help despite her having multiple breakdowns and threats of suicide/homocide a week. This only happened a couple of months ago, so it’s a shock to my fiance as well. 

And now, my fiance’s dad has become hostile towards me. Saying shit like “I can’t wait for when your tr*nny ass dies giving birth”, “Hey that baby better not come out a darkie (in reference to my black grandfather)” and other heinous shit. I brought this up to his wife, but she only dismissed him because “he’s veteran have some respect (deadname)!”

We need to move out, ASAP. 

My fiance’s job pays only around $1500 a month, and it’s only monthly pay, not biweekly. The places nearby that we have to pick from are all expensive and will take half of my fiance’s paycheck just to move in.

Here’s what we need money for:

Groceries (for when we move out so we can have food)

Furniture (if the furnished apartments aren’t that much costly we’ll probably go with that but this is still a likely necessity)

Utilities (only electric and internet)

And anything else if we’re not able to grab everything in time before his parents come back from a trip.

Please, I don’t normally do these kinds of posts but I’m genuinely fearful for my life and my baby’s life. I stay upstairs all day hiding from them, trying to keep out of their way. I only come downstairs when my fiance is home, because I know they won’t do anything to me in front of him. This isn’t a life.

Voodoo/Vodun, any variation of the spiritual practice is more often that not discredited and written off as something wicked and evil for simply being a faith based in African tradition, I think there is room to celebrate this form of spirituality whilst respecting the origin but also exploring the fantasy genre and I honestly think this can only be done with an ALL Black production that has access to well funded resources (I mean hello Black Panther only popped severely because it was money behind Black genius) and speaking of Black Panther, I think there is room to have deep social commentary in a movie like this because

for a villain, I was thinking there would be a big reveal and we would find out  that the man that she has always considered her spiritual advisor, her longtime  pastor, is actually an evil warlock that has been pretending to be a pastor in order to watch over Christine’s character life (I would cast Dennis Haysbert for this)

I would cast a Wood Harris as the proud owner of the business, who is recovering from a stroke and is rendered physically/financially dependent on others, especially his son, for the first time in his life, causing him to be resentful and bitter.

I would cast Trevante Rhodes as his son, who has taken over and is trying to keep the struggling business afloat, although he wishes nothing more than to make his father proud but nevertheless has to deal with brunt of his father’s emotional abuse.

hi! I need your help! my name is River & I’m a 19 y/o trans nb person. I went to an lgbt health center last month to get blood tests done to see about getting on hormones. I’m still on my parents’ insurance, but the folks at the clinic told me that the insurance would probably cover it and that it would be billed in such a way that my parents wouldn’t be able to tell. Unfortunately, my parents did find out, and the insurance didn’t cover it, so I got hit today with two bills which add up to more than $2500:

This is a lot of money, and it’s supposed to be due today (June 22). If you can help me pay it (or if you have any relevant advice about insurance) I would appreciate it. Otherwise, even just reblogging this post is a huge blessing.
