It's not TKDB related, but I've seen something similar in the TKDB fandom before, just nowhere near this bad.
There's this person in the fandom I'm currently in who's been really rude and disrespectful to other people. After they got called out, they brought in their friends, and they all started rage baiting people. They threw around slurs and made racist, homophobic, fatphobic, and ableist comments. They especially targeted people they thought were overweight and kept body shaming them. They also made racist comments toward POC, especially Black people.
The mods eventually banned them to stop the harassment. But instead of leaving, they kept making new accounts just to come back and harass people again, especially with more fatphobic comments.
As things got worse, more people in the fandom found out about what they were doing and started calling them out too. At first, they denied everything. When people showed screenshots and other proof, they admitted they said those things but claimed they were "just rage baiting." To me, that's just an excuse to avoid taking responsibility for what they did. They even started harassing people who didn't believe their version of the story.
This whole thing broke my heart. They're not just racist and fatphobic. They're also really ableist. I'm black and I have a disability that causes me to be overweight. Even though none of their comments were directed at me personally, the things they said were aimed at people like me and my community. That's why I, along with a lot of other people, spoke up about how harmful their words were. Instead of listening, they started harassing us too.
They also went after other creators just because those creators refused to support people who spread hate and discriminate against others. I can't understand their way of thinking anymore.
When they couldn't deny the evidence anymore, they changed their story. They started saying that because they're Asian and POC too, anything people said back to them was racism. They were also harassing Asian creators who called out their behavior....
Now they're blaming the mods. The mods tried to talk to them and work things out before but they refused to have a real conversation. They just kept arguing, throwing more slurs, and insulting people, so the mods banned them. Now they're acting like the mods were wrong for banning them.
I'm sorry, but we only know these people online. If someone ever called me racist slurs or made fatphobic comments to my face in real life, I'd probably throw hands because this isn't the first time I've dealt with that kind of discrimination. What makes it even worse is that they keep targeting black people and disabled people without any remorse. It's insane.
Sorry for venting to you all. I just wanted to get this off my chest. Please stay safe in online communities because sometimes we really do come across people like this. All of you please stay safe and don't let this affect you π
