"he’s got a bush" "he’s got a happy trail" "he lets it ALL grow"

And then he’s like the only clean shaven character in the entire show…

Like how many men in One piece do we see having stubble, leg hair and chest hair? Many!

But not Ace…

Yet he’s always represented as such 🤔

How should he be, more in physical sense, bc i would prefer to have him go back to a time where the ASL are still very much in tact but i also want him to have some scar that shows from his past life…

I’ve considered starting it, right after he leaves Dawn but i really want some asl content in the fic even if my main focus would absolutely be on the whitebeards and Ace.

Maybe i should just make it into 2 separate fics one where he traves to his childhood and one where he starts back with the assassination attempts on Whitebeard.

But back to it i absolutely want him to have some rep of what he already went through. I was considering the scar he got from Akainu but it feels to big for a child. So… maybe someone could help with some other ideas like idk

That is still one of my favorite thing to come off tumblr, because it fits a lot of characters and both hurt in their own way. You realize so much from these two tropes.

One being betrayed or forced into circumstances that weren’t their fault but could’ve been prevented if that one thing hadn’t happened or hadn’t been done.

You clearly didn’t watch or listen to ANYTHING about Ace’s character or why he does the things he does.

Yeah that got his attention and I’ll admit i was practically screaming at him to keep running but that’s not why he died at all. He was defending his Captain (and while i don’t like whitebeard) he was a huge part of Ace finding a home and actual peace even if it wasn’t for long, Ace loves and protects so fiercely, that it often becomes a problem bc he puts himself in danger but that’s who Ace has ALWAYS been.

And in the end Ace didn’t die bc of "ragebait" he died protecting his little brother (yk the only actual reason he didn’t kill himself. yk his "treasure" their bond, the thing that kept him going) sure he could have kept moving but Luffy was already exhausted and could barely move himself.

They wouldn’t have gotten away anyway. Ace gave his life to protect the one thing that truly held his heart, which is his little brother.

It wasn’t even a fight really, Akainu just straight up insults Aces entire family and his blood, which puts pressure on Ace as well bc yk Roger is his father. He felt responsible again, and Akainu doesn’t even give him a chance to fight and directly turns and aims his attack at a collapsed Luffy who didn’t have time to move…

And i really hate how people take his sacrifice. Now i could make an entire word document explaining my take but that would take very long. But we all knew that Ace didn’t want the Whitebeard pirates to save him, he literally said it wasn’t worth it.

Ofc it’s their way of showing they care and love him, but Ace already knew that, or he wouldn’t have stayed.

Ace knew he was gonna die, even when he was younger he literally admitted that he didn’t see worth in himself. We know that Ace knew that the government hated him, that the entire world hated him. Time and time again we are shown that Ace knew he was living on borrowed time, which is also why he wanted to live without regret.

Ace died protecting his family which is something he has always done, til the end he was himself, a person that values other lives above his own and a sacrificing brother who would give everything to make his brother happy and keep him alive.

He also literally apologizes ON HIS DEATH BED for not being able to follow Luffy til the end, and thanks Luffy for loving him.

Luffy: it feels like his destruction but also comfort lays in food, the way he eats could stem from abandonment issues, his father, Garp, shanks and then being ripped away from Makino. Luffys trying to fill the void and hole in his chest, even if his metabolism takes care of it (so no one really notices), food was always a way to get a quick dopamine release and it just stuck.

Sabo: goes into the opposite direction (starving) he can’t add more scars to his body, bc even if he covers up, the revs would definitely notice. Sabo grew up with wealth and all he could get his hands on, and first saw the damage it did, after he left. Feeling undeserving of food and basic needs. Which also leads to binging, and then throwing up. It’s a vicous cycle of guilt, pain and shame.

Bc i feel like a lot of people forget that Ace literally Raised Luffy for 7 years, sure they were near the bandits but Luffy never liked them and Makino was down in the village, which was quite a long way, considering that’s an extreme amount of terrain and vicious animals she had to pass.

Ace must have had an extreme influence on his fighting style or mannerisms, more than most people realize. Sure we see some scenes were Luffy is said to be like Ace or that others see ace in Luffy, but it was never the exact thing i was looking for.

I want to see them get angry in the same way, or lift their hands and shake them down when they’re annoyed, or maybe even Luffy cursing like Ace did when he got frustrated.

Luffy wasn’t able to keep up with Ace at first but managed to get used to the rough path and traveling they did through the forest. Ace after allowing Luffy into his life probably helped Luffy get used to things or helped him out so he wouldn’t die that easily.

The same way he did for Sabo (bc let’s be fair a child raised in richness and manners probably didn’t know how to swing a huge metal pipe from the beginning) we saw in some flashbacks just how easily Ace maneuvered through the forest, animals and the grey terminal, with that pipe and how he twirled it.

We’ve all heard about it, but what do y’all think the asl brothers best subject or favorites would be?

Ace: always seemed more of a sport student but at the same time he was good at navigation, so maybe his best subject would be Geographie. He does completely fine in most classes and surprisingly well in math and law classes (little do they know it’s bc he likes to screw people over especially in things like poker) literature classes are his absolute nightmare tho, can’t focus bc his world view is way too negative.

His favorite would probably something he excels in, so his brain actually can be proud of him for once.

Sabo: we saw how smart he was sure, but i feel like Sabo wouldn’t actually like doing work unless it had an direct impact, (especially bc his parents always forced him) so i can mostly think of him only doing tests, exams and credit papers and just ignore everything else.

No idea if he would have a best subject, probably bc he never does anything, and when he does it’s perfect so he’s great in everything. Favorite subject could maybe be something where he doesn’t feel forced into perfection… so maybe Art would be his favorite due to the "free expressing" thing

Luffy: he does fine or average in everything except for math or where he has to overthink everything… he’s great in most classes even his writing projects get high marks but always get a bit crazy due to his fantasy and constant need for excitement.

It does not feel different….

My family is coming at 3 my father will drive me back home. No idea If a friend is coming or not but it’s a lot better than last year, because I’ve already had multiple people congratulate me, friends included, which didn’t happen last time, bc i was still a kind of shut in.

But i feel fine, rather than sad sooo yay to me :)

Like Ace being Mexican and Luffy Brazilian, which are very beautiful places with their own cultures but still feel familiar to each other.

Cats like warmth and sleeping on humans, (at least mine do, they’ll just lay on top while im sleeping) and Ace passing out every once in a while due to his Narcolepsy would make him a perfect resting place for cats.

He’s warm, he’s asleep and he can handle a lot of sun = purrfect cats napping place.
