Summary : Ace just reunited with his brother Luffy at Alabasta but when love at first sight hit him hard what will happen ?
AN : Finally finished this fan fiction, I’ve been working on it for a long time, I re wrote it more than fourth time (I had the same amount of sleep than Law 😂 because when im into writing Im into it hard and im still not fully satisfied but I really needed to put it out) so I hope it turns out good because I love Ace so much he deserves all the love on earth 🥹 and he’s one of my fav characters of all time my pretty boy.

Night had fallen over the desert of the Kingdom of Alabasta, silence reigned, and the sky was filled with stars, each one shining more brilliantly than the last. Everyone had fallen asleep after a long, grueling day of trekking across that seemingly endless desert. Well, almost everyone.
Indeed the Commander of the 2nd Division of the Whitebeard Pirates, Portgas D. Ace was still awake, He couldn't get to sleep, but perhaps he didn't want to.
Because he couldn’t take of his eyes off of you
You were sitting, back leaning against a rock, looking thoughtful.
You too couldn’t get to find sleep either.
He had no idea why you were the only one still awake with him but if he was honest with him he was quite happy that sleep didn’t come to find you.
Gosh ! He wasn’t supposed to fall in love with his younger brother’s crew mate. He just reunited with Luffy after 3 years and the only thing he could do was falling in love.
What a situation he’s gotten himself into…
But he couldn’t resist it.
in a blink of an eye, the moment he saw your face for the first on the Going Merry and suddently his heart was burning from a fire so fierce, so ardent but not from his devil fruit.
No, it was from something completely different.
A feeling unknown to him.
And this feeling hit him hard.
Of course he already had experienced love and affection for his brothers, his family, his crew mates but never in a romantic type of way.
He had never felt that way before.
He was the man made of fire but it's you who set his heart ablaze.
You took his breath away in a instant.
And what scares him the most.
It's that he enjoys it, a lot.
And he didn't really want to stop.
The way his heart raced, the way this little tender flame lingered in his chest every time he was laying his eyes on you, the way he couldn't stop smiling every time he was thinking about you, mind racing with so many news thoughts, thoughts he didn't know he could actually think like how good you would feel against his chest or how bad he want to have him on your lap and having you playing with his hair, and how your lips would taste.
He is so in love that he might stop breathing
But the voices inside of his head will never stop "How dare you think you could deserve her love, dumbass"
"she's perfect and your are definetly not worthy of her"
"She deserves someone better than someone like you, who do you think you are."
At least he had the chance to talk to you today. Every conversation, interaction he had with you was a blessing for him, every time his name came out of your lips it was like a little prayer.
At least he knew that you were safe with his little brother even if he was reckless and could get himself in trouble it was better to have you by his side than in another crew. he was truly glad that you seemed so happy to be in Luffy's crew, he was glad you got along well with Luffy. Your smile was sweet and warm, you had a great sense of humour and he could swear that your laugh was the best thing he has ever heard in his entire life.
One thing was sure, the Commander of the 2nd Division of the Whitebeard Pirates had caught the L-O-V-E.
He is in love, true love.
And that's all he really knows.

And you, alone, sitting, back leaning against a rock, couldn't find any rest either. You really tried but it was hopeless. Your mind kept going back to the same thought over and over again.
That was what you said to yourself when you saw him standing there, on the Going Merry. You felt helpless at the very moment your eyes met his for the first time. Your blood rushed to your cheeks, spreading across your face. Your heart was pounding, fast, too fast, heart ready to explode at any moment.
Handsome boy does he know it ?
Love is a hurricane, and it hit you with full force.
You loved each freckles on his face, loved the way he smiled, the way he sounded. He was warm, comforting, shining like the sun in the sky. His presence was reassuring, protective. He had the ability to get rid off of all your fears like they have never existed, you had never felt more at peace than with him by your side.
He felt like home somehow
He was everything you ever wanted.
But he was your captain's brother and he was also the Commander of the 2nd Division of the Whitebeard Pirates, even in your wildest dreams you didn't think you stood a chance with him, he was too perfect.
How someone like him could be interested in someone like you ?
You were just another crew member of his little brother's crew, you weren't even that important at his eyes you thought.
Suddenly, a voice snapped you back to reality, pulling you away from your inner thoughts. You started in surprise.
You turned your head and saw him.
Your heart began to pound wildly.
He had been awake this whole time ?
"No, of course not !" you replied, shifting a little bit to make room for him beside you, your hands trembling slightly and your cheeks tinged with a soft pink.
"So little miss can't find sleep ?" Ace's voice was teasing yet entirely devoid of malice, it was meant more to lighten the mood.
"And you mister fire boy ?"
A gentle smile appeared on each of your faces. Ace sat down next to you, your hands brushing against each other for a brief moment, making you both blush.
"Perfect sky for stargazing, don't you think ?" Ace asked you.
"Yeah, the stars are so bright tonight"
"Is everyone else asleep ?" You asked him.
"Yeah, looks like we're the only ones up at this hour."
You and Ace shared a pleasant silence for a while. His presence was peaceful and easy. But Ace couldn't stop stealing glances at you, as if trying to memorize you. His heart was pounding, and he knew he couldn't stay forever, that tomorrow, he would have to leave and that made him sad.
He would have to leave you and Luffy, he knows that Luffy is a big boy now but he is his precious little brother and he was so happy to finally reunite with him, because he was one of his reason to keep living. But he was also sad because he would have to leave you, leave you with so much things to say, to do. He didn't want to leave you without at least telling you, but he was scared, really scared.
But why not give it a shot ? He wants to live a life with no regrets and he doesn't want to regret no telling you what's on his heart before it's too late.
His voice cut through the calm, peaceful silence.
"I'm probably leaving tomorrow"
You knew this moment would come, yet it still tugged at your heartstrings. You knew he would have to leave, but you had grown accustomed to his presence so quickly that you had almost forgotten that detail. You were going to miss him terribly, and the fact that he doesn’t know how you truly feel about him is like twisting the knife in the wound.
"You know Ace it was great meeting you someone like you. You are a really good person ! And you have such a great heart and you seem like an amazing big brother ! Luffy is very lucky to have you."
Ace was shaken at your words.
"You know... He started slowly
It was also great to meet you Y/N , you really seem like a good and interesting person. I'm glad Luffy has someone as strong and incredible as you in his crew ! —you know I really like you and..."
The words tumbled out of Ace's mouth so quickly that he didn't have the time to think about the rest of his setence.
You were both now looking at each others in the eyes.
Oh my god Ace what have you done ?! She'll think that you are a weirdo ! Ace thought he ruined his chance for ever.
You said blushing, lost in this moment that didn't feel real at all.
How did you even end up in this situation ?
It was now Ace who was completely lost and surprised by this turn of events. His mouth was open but not a single word wanted to come out, they were stuck in his throat.
Were you really feeling the same way as him ?
No he doesn't deserve it.
But all of this was real.
And like drawn by each other, you started to get closer and closer until your shoulders were touching, until you could feel Ace's hair softly on your face, until you could feel Ace's hand on your cheek, until you both could feel both of your breaths on each other faces.
Until you could feel Ace's lips gently on yours, as asking for permission to keep going.
He moves his lips carefully at first, slowly savoring every bit, his hands on both sides of your face, both of your cheeks completely flushed. As you take off his hat and start to play with his hair, which make you earn a moan from his mouth, the kiss deepened into almost pure tongue.
The kiss was warm, addictive, comforting.
Just you and him laying on the sand, and the starry night.
Giving all the love in your heart.
Maybe you two spent the entire night kissing, addicted to each other's touches and lips.
In the morning you two couldn't stop smirking and smiling at your little secret. The crew was a little bit surprise by your sudden behavior but not questioning it much.
As for Luffy who was also unaware of the events of last night, he was feeling extremely happy to see that his brother and you were getting along so well.
And when the time for the goodbyes arrived, none of you two felt sad.
Because it was not a farewell just a see you until next time.
Ace's heart was reassured, Luffy has found an extraordinary group of people, a trustful crew willing to follow him with faith, he was happy to see Luffy following his dream and was excited to see what he would become in the near future. But his heart was now full of love for you, he was clearly the happiest man earth right now.
So before leaving, Ace would pressed one of his hands on your shoulder the other one in your pocked to put his Vive card in it, whispering something that only you could hear :
"What did you do to Y/N ?!" asked Luffy at the sight of your chocked expression, your whole face painted with a deep red blush.
"Not telling you Luffy !"

You shouted as you ran straight toward him,he opened his arms, caught you, and spun you around in the air.
"Y/NNNNNNN I MISSED YOU SO MUCH"
"I’M SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU AGAIN"
It was a coincidence that the StrawHats’ crew and the Whitebeard's crew were on the same island at the same time—but what a wonderful coincidence.
He missed you so much too. Your voice, your smile, your touch, everything he missed so much and now you were in his arms.
He kissed you hard, full of energy, love and happiness of seeing you again after all this time.
His eyes were shining, full of love.
And you responded to his kiss immediately, still in his arms, feeling the warmth of his chest and of his love.
You are the best thing that ever been his.
And he is the best that ever been yours.
You two lost track of time, you don’t remember how much your make out session lasted until you heard…
"ACEEE AND YNNNN ARE KISSING !!!"
Your eyes opened in shock and landed on the owner of the voice that had interrupted your make-out session.
You and Ace were completely flustered, caught red-handed.
Luffy had a huge grin on his face—the same expression he wore when starting a new adventure. He looked at Ace and asked :
"Is Y/N my sister-in-law now ?"
