I never learned how to swim
I never thought one day I’d have to
He’s the first to hold my hands when wave rises
Always.
Always there to hold me when salty water reaches my lungs
I never learned to swim
Never thought water would rise on shore
Never thought my voice would break and shatter like glass cutting my vocals
And salty tears only burns my scars
But the unthinkable happened
Water roamed my body but this time no hands came to the rescue
Fish sucking my flesh is a fact not a thought
