For those that have asked I decided to make an instagram :)

So those of you who are backing up your blog may have noticed that it’s taking ages to actually work.  For me, it took over 48 hours for my backup to be completed.  This is due in part to the servers likely being flooded with backup requests and in part because lol tumblr programming

So I highly recommend using TumblThree:

Basically, download and extract the .zip to wherever you want.  Open the .exe file.

The program will automatically read your clipboard, so if you copy a tumblr url to it, it will automatically add it to the blog list.  When you select a blog, the ‘details’ tab on the right will have some options that you can change, like if you want only images, video, audio, text, conversation, link, answer, quote, and various metadata.  You can also look for specific tags.

I would recommend that you select all the boxes like I have above.  

BY DEFAULT, the program downloads all of your posts, including reblogs.  This could increase the number of files downloaded by a factor of 10.  If you do not want reblogs downloaded, untick that box.  

I would also recommend setting a download location.

Each of these settings can be set on a per blog basis.  You do not need to be the owner of the blog to do this.  

If your blog is protected, there are some additional settings you will have to change.  Read through the how to use link above for more details.

To star the process, click on the Queue tab next to ‘Details,’ click and drag your desired blog from the left onto the Queue, and then hit ‘Crawl’ down at the bottom.

I don’t know if this blog will simply disappear into history on the 17th, or sooner, or whether or not it will remain but everything on it flagged and hidden.

My archive is slowly disappearing, but the posts I can find, the tags still link to images that disappeared from it. My guess is Tumblr will hide archived stuff, disable the tags, so the only way to find things at all, I guess, would be to scroll through the entirety of a blog.

Best case scenario here seems to be that the blog remains, at least then I could keep in touch.

I’m sorry I don’t have all my images archived in another place off site. I tried putting the images of each character into folders and uploading to MEGA, but it wouldn’t do it.

I’d like to thank each and every person who followed me, liked my work, reblogged it and chatted with me. You helped me get through some low points and I’ve made some real friends here. I hope I can keep in contact with them. 

I’d also like to apologise to those who made requests of me, but I never got to them, or forgot. I hate making people feel unwanted, or ignored, so if I ever did, I apologise. 

With a bit of luck, the blog will remain up, and from there people can find my work elsewhere. At the very least I could just talk to people. One of the worst parts for me are those who infrequently visit the site, who may miss what’s happened and I’ll never see or hear from them again :(

I’ve been here for over 3 years now, with about 7,220 followers. I’ve made over 5000 SFM images in that time, of various things. Even some animations. 

In the tradition of the past two years, it seems Tumblr too has decided to make the worst decision possible. Every day it seems we get some bad news, some shit situation, and the future keeps looking bleaker and bleaker. 

For some, losing Tumblr may not be all that big a deal. Others will lose work and income. I’ll lose a place that’s kept me company when others could not.

I’ve always treated this account as a hobby, but to see myself build an audience this big and have it all come crashing down instantly is infuriating. I’ve had my problems with this website before but this takes the cake. Such a huge ”fuck you” to a big portion of their community. I hope this place crashes and burns, but frankly I doubt that’s going to happen. Tumblr will get more heat for a little while and then everything will go back to normal for them. Screwing over all of us in the process.

For now there’s no point in posting here anymore if it’s all going to be flagged and/or gone pretty soon. I’ll probably have to go through and delete all of my stuff as well. All that hard work to have it end up like this… what a fucking shame. I guess I’m going to end up using that Twitter after all.
