You canât deny that thin privilege works on a scale. A size 4 has privilege that a size 14 doesnât, who in turn has privilege that a size 24 doesnât, who yet again has privilege that a size 34 doesnât, and so on. Iâm definitely fat. But Iâm not the only fat person in the world, or the fattest person in the world, and my experiences, while true for me, donât make someone elseâs conflicting experiences less true.

In the old district Barrio del Carmen of Valencia (Spain) children, associations and inhabitants have set up their own community space in a former vacant lot. Itâs Solar Corona.Â
âCapitalism would have us believe that we only deserve to be here because of what we produce, and even in our counter- cultures, even in our movements we reproduce the same idea. We only deserve to be here because of what we can produce that other people will buy with their money, time or attention. Our experience of our own lives is secondary, it is only the means of production, it is the products that matter, and unless we make ourselves into both factories and widgets we are not valuable.â

Feminism is having a wardrobe malfunction.
Does your brand of feminism remove barriers for women, or simply move them around? Does is expand options for women, or does it just shift them? You donât liberate women by forcing them to choose option B instead of option A. What is comfortable for you might not be comfortable for someone else, and itâs entirely possible that what you see as oppressive, other women find comfortable or even downright liberating.
Before you think the girl in the middle is a strawman, let me tell you I used to be her, back in my misguided youth. I considered myself the standard to which other people should adhere. But that was stupid. Itâs not up to me to tell people how to dress, and itâs much nicer to let everyone choose for themselves.
Some women would feel naked without a veil. Some women would find it restrictive. Some women would feel restricted by a bra. Some women would feel naked without one. Some women would feel restricted by a tight corset. Others love them. Some wear lots of clothes with a corset. Some only wear the corset and nothing else. What makes any article of clothing oppressive is someone forcing you to wear it. And itâs just as oppressive to force someone not to wear something that they want to wear.
To put it in a condensed form: True feminism is not covering up naked women in Western music videos, nor is it removing the veil from the Middle East. Itâs doing whatever you want to do with yourself and your body, AND ALLOWING OTHERS TO DO THE SAME. Â
âIâm here today because I am gay. And because maybe I can make a difference. To help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility. I also do it selďŹshly, because I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission. I suffered for years because I was scared to be out. My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered.â  Ellen Page comes out (x)

Give Orphaned Foxes a Second Chance http://sunsuperdreams.com.au/dream/view/give-orphaned-foxes-a-second-chance Sydney Fox Rescue are unique. We work to helpâŚ
Sydney Fox Rescue are unique. We work to help an animal much of Australia has forgotten, demonized or condemned. It is our belief that foxes, like all animals, deserve long, contented lives free from harm. We are a registered NSW charity that strive to help injured and orphaned fox kits from the wild who are vaccinated, desexed and rehomed to owners who have undergone a training program and installed a secure fox enclosure. It is legal to own foxes in NSW. Our foxes are never released back into the wild and our program helps not just foxes but also natives and livestock farming by removing foxes from the wild and placing them in a secure domestic environment. Many of our foxes come to us to young to survive on their own, we have had 15 come to us this year requiring around the clock bottle feeding, 9 of these so young they had yet to open their eyes and in total weâve now had 36 foxes this year, not all of these made it, and we continue to do the work we do in remembrance of the ones we canât save (RIP: Frankie, Franklin, Unnamed Cecil Park, Unnamed Bargo, Swiper, Lady, Bronte, Firefox, George, Freddie, Francis and Fi). We have a shelter based in Sydneyâs inner west with space for up to 18 kits as well as our 2 adult education foxes. This year we have picked up foxes from all across NSW including: Orange, Abury, Moama, Yass, Newcastle, Tamworth, Jindabyne, Picton, Bargo, Sydney, Glen Innes, Coffs Harbor and Queanbeyan. Weâve clocked over 12,500km this year and our car is on itâs last legs. With your help we hope to upgrade to a small second hand four-wheel drive. You can vote for our dream here:http://sunsuperdreams.com.au/dream/viâŚ
Mikoâs enclosure has been finally completed and he and Noki can now keep company to each other during the night!
Throwback to my text about enclosures:
âA fox enclosure, if having big spaces between the wire mesh, should minimally be of 14 gauge. If the wire mesh spacing is about 1Â cm or less, you can have 16-18 gauge, but nothing more than that as the fox will be able to chew through it very easily.Â
There should be wire mesh on the ground as well, covered with dirt (to prevent the fox from digging). Another option for the ground is using concrete slabs or wood boards covered in dirt. The enclosure should have a secure top (either mesh, normal âhouseâ roof or have the edges of the wire mesh walls curve towards the inside of the enclosure to prevent the fox from climbing out of it (they are as agile as cats!).
Extra: a little den, toys, climbing spots such as logs or cat trees, and a litter box should be added inside.Â
I also highly suggest to have a lock installed on the door, and eventually if you are really insecure and scared, you might also want to place a typical home-designed alarm system (which I have). There are many crazy people out there, some just jealous that they donât qualify to have a fox so they will release or steal somebodyâs beloved fox, and others that claim âundomesticatedâ andâviciousâ animals such as foxes shouldnât be kept as pets and that they âbelong in the wildâ' (where, of course, they would die killed by a hunter for their unusual pelts, by a predator or die of hunger as their instincts are not as those of wild foxes).â
Great example of a fox enclosure from some Canadian fox owners!
