I am curious,. What are the things you like the most about Dickbabs?
To begin with, I love the conexion they share since they were young.
I know the childhood sweethearts thing was a retcon, and a lot o people criticize that, but I don’t see it as a bad thing at all. There are bad retcons and good retcons. In their case I think it was the latter. But even Pre-Crisis, there was always this banter between them, there was a cue for a thing to blossom if their ages weren’t so different.
So the writers took this cue and made their romance happen, because it makes sense: they shared the experience as Batman apprentices, they are the original Batman Family.
Also, I love how they’re friends above anything. Even when their relationship didn’t work, they kept the good part of it. They know they can always count on each other.
I love their dynamic and their partnership. The constant banter, the playful atmosphere, the couple fights.. Barbara’s more sarcastic, Dick’s more a goof.
And when they are actually together, they make sure it will be the cutest thing ever.
They are so different, but know each other so well because they live in the same world.. it’s a very interesting relationship.

Barbara put down a fresh cup of coffee for him and pressed a quick kiss to his temple. Despite her cheery, joking attitude, beneath the farce of it, she’d been terrified.
