A few years ago, Jim would have reacted quite poorly to his partner kissing him. At best, an awkward laugh and an excuse to leave. At worst, an outright panic and a frantic escape. But, the old man has had the time to grow comfortable with himself, to accept those things he used to be so ashamed of.
Of course, the alcohol in his system helped, too.
A laugh came from Jim as he shoved Harveyâs shoulder.
âAre you drunk? Youâre drunk, arenât you?â
Maybe. Maybeâs heâs got beer and whiskey on his tongue, but heâs also got a taste of Jim too. And damn if it ainât bad. The playful shove causes him to laugh, and he brings his beer up to his lips, gulping it down, though he regrets that it drowns that feeling of his lips pressed to Jimâs own.
âMaybe... donât mean I donât wanna kiss ya when Iâm sober too.â Theyâve been partners a long time, and normally Harvey wouldnât dare say a damn thing. He liked working with Jim, no matter how much of a stickler he was for the damn rule book.Â
But tonight, he was feeling a bit bold, bold enough to admit heâd kiss him again.
âIâd kiss ya again if I didnât think youâd punch me for it..â
