5.3.17 Was doing some essay writing in one of my favourite cafés in Clifton yesterday while it rained, and then went to play the last game of South West League for quidditch. So today was very much an “organized chaos” kind of day, and I loved it!! I really have to remember that all the posturing and neatness really isn’t what drives me and compels me to work, but rather it’s the actual work, done without filter or restraint, that I enjoy. I did a lot more significant work than I have in the past, and have a fair amount of confidence about the questions that I’ve been doing, since they’re going not super smoothly, but okay, and since they’re the first set of questions I’ve started, that’s perfectly fine! I worked on molecular reaction dynamics and flow chemistry, two of my more neglected subjects, so doing well on them feels great!
Anyways, I’m just really happy because I enjoyed working again. It’s a heady feeling, and one that I forget as soon as it fades. I really need to remember these study highs, and figure out how to work towards them.

25.01.2017 – Working on some dissertation reading for my proposal due mid-term. The Geography tripos at Cambridge requires you to submit a proposal, risk assessment and ethics form in your second year, (typically) conduct your research over the summer straddling second and third year, and analyse and write up your research in third year - super early compared to most other degrees here! But it’s something I’m so loving, and I’ve had two supervisions for my dissertation thus far, both of which have been exactly what I hoped for in Cambridge when I applied. V exciting!!
