Everyone celebrating in the Flower Capital for the fire festival. Hitetsu and Otko are there and there is a giant fire they have set up in the festival that pay homage to the people who have passed away. So the fire festival is like Día de Muertos, day of the dead, if you ever watched the movie coco but this is the one piece version. Hitetsu lets Otko know the fire is burning so high it reached the heavens and  Yasuie is looking down on them.

 CP0 is basically sports commentating the entire war and I like the mid recap of showing whats going on overall. Thanks to Tama the Samurai now have 7,000 on their side against the Beast Pirates’ 20,000. Still, all the eye people are talking to each other and see everything in the island and know that Momo and Shinobu pretty much fell off a cliff last week. Like Shinobu used her devil fruit to collapse the side of the ledge and we don’t see them anymore. Any who, one of the eye people are like, “ima tell the whole island that Momo died, that’ll make them stop fighting brb” Little does she know

 Nami gets a powerrrrrr uppppppppp!!! Usopp is funning saying that he is so good at making weapons he is the reason Nami’s climate baton is talking lol. Really what happened is Zesus right before he was going to get eaten by Hera he was already unconscious and his spirt was slipping out of his body and in the last moment when Nami gave him some black balls (thunder clouds ahaha) before he got eaten, his spirt was able to go into Nami’s baton.

 Crazy side note is that Zeus said he can’t get out of Nami’s baton with out Big Mom’s power’s so I wonder if Big Mom is going to take Zeus’s soul out of Nami’s baton in a later point in Wano. I hope not, I like this Nami power up.

 Nami and Usopp are going to the platform so Tama can give an order to all the gifters but the eye person is there who wants to tell the island Momo is “dead” I guess her name is Bao Huang. Right when Nami, Usopp, and Tama make it there Ulti comes flying through and head buts Usopp. Ulti gets Tama and is going to hurt her cause Ulti finds out Tama is the reason the gifters switched sides and is blaming Tama for why Page 1 got hurt. Nami isn’t playing that so she swings her baton and Zeus transforms into like a giant mase!?!?! Crazy. Can Zeus have observation haki? Cause he tells Nami that Ulti is hurt on the inside and one good lighting attack will finish off Ulti. Or maybe he just understands Big Mom’s attacks iuno. Zeus tells Nami to use her baton like she normally does and Zeus will help her out but Nami doesn’t want to do a lighting attack cause it will hurt Tama. Usopp hits Ulti with a little seed I think and it turns into like a garden of flowers on Ulti so it can give Tama the chance to get away from Ulti.

 Nami gets her lighting attack ready and Zeus is just a giant power boost, he becomes a part of Nami’s regular weather eggs. Zeus tells Nami he can name him something else and Nami says “Fluff” but Zeus still calls himself Zeus lol. A cool part though was Zeus declaring that he is Nami’s right hand. Nami does a hugggeeeeeeeee lighting blast but it misses Ulti. It ain’t over though, Zeusus lighting blast follows! Freaking follows! Ulti until it hits her. That’s tight! I wonder if Oda knew he was going to give this power up to Nami the whole time? Cause Lola gave Nami Big Mom’s vivre card all the way back in thriller bark so its like Nami has been connected with a piece of Big Mom’s soul for a long portion of the story. So it makes sense that Nami still has a portion of Big Mom’s soul in Zeus?

 Ulti is knocked out cold. I’m really happy for Nami that was a cool feat and it makes sense, yea Ulti had to take a hit by Big Mom first to help Nami knock her out but still! This is a cool Power up for Nami and a cool moment. Shouts out Usopp for the assist too.

Bao Huang, eye lady, gets shocked for what happened and yells out that two of the Tobi Ropo are down and that goes through the whole island. So instead of breaking the moral of the Samurai she ends up breaking the moral of the Beast Pirates. Usopp hits Bao Huang with a Green Starr to hold her up and Tama speaks into her.  All the gifters hear Tama and get excited and are ready to take orders from her.

 Last page, its Yamato and Kaido on the roof top 1 v1. Yamto declares she is going to leave to sea with Luffy! So Yamato for nakama!? Will see. Something that stood out to me is Kaido saying “don’t think I’m leaving for anywhere else. I’m here because its Wano!” Is there something even more special in Wano that we don’t know about? Like I know Kaido is there cause of teaming up with Orochi to make weapons and prolly because of the road poneglyph but is there anotherrrrr reason why Kaido wants to be in Wano? Maybe a void century reason we don’t know about? Yamto also says that Luffy is the man Oden was waiting for. Kaido in previous chapter said Luffy isn’t Joy Boy but when Yamato said that Luffy is the man Oden is waiting for then does that mean Luffy is Joy Boy?

 Yamto is clearly strong cause Kaido automatically went hybrid to attack him. Yamato knows he can’t beat Kaido but he tells Kaido he is going to hold him back for as long as he can.

Things I hope to see in Kaido vs Yamato

·        I hope we get Kaido backstory from this fight.

·        Yamato backstory

·        Yamato possible devil fruit transformation? Like why does Yamato have fangs?

·        On tops of Kaido backstory I hope we also learn about the void century/ Joyboy/ will of D. Cause Kaido and Yamto clearly know about it so this could Oda’s way of informing us.

Apparently not everyone have an inner monologue. Like when you think to yourself and you hear your own voice. Some people don’t think like that. Thats crazzzyyyyyy. I always have an inner monologue, I wish mine was voiced by Morgan Freeman lol

When I was a kid I lived across the street from my elementary school and one summer they were doing construction on the play ground. There was a giant pile of wood chips in the middle of the play ground, literally like a mountain. This was a construction site, so there was plie wood every where too. So all the kids in the neighborhood got all the plie wood laying around and put it on top of this mountain of wood chips to create this giant ramp. We were like the x games in that bitch.  There was like a little hill we would go off of to catch speed and get on the mountain of  wood chips and launch ourselves on some bmx shit. 

We were all having the time of our lives jumping off this thing, but one kid looked at his watch and said it was almost 5. Then every kid and I mean everyyyyyy kid there stopped what they were doing and went home to watch the new episode of DBZ. That’s how good DBZ was to us, whatever we were doing we had to stop and go watch the new episode, no matter what. I can’t think of any other show as a kid that had that affect on us. Watching the new episode of DBZ meant everything.

When I think bout it though, this was during the cell saga so we prolly just watch 30min of talking cause it took foreverrrrrr for them to start fighting ahaha. In the moment though, I know we were still excited no matter what. 

The main dude plays in Jordan 6’s and Jordan 1’s.

The characters are based off of real NBA players. The really cool thing is that this manga came out in 94 and ended in 96 which was an amazing era for basketball and the NBA. Jordan just got done with his 3 peat and retired from basketball. The Bulls and Michael Jordan are a global phenomenon at this point and the author of Slam Dunk, Takehiko Inoue, was a fan for sure. So much of a fan he based the characters from actual NBA players from the time. For example:

Hanamichi Sakuragi: Dennis Rodman • They both got colorful hair and on top of that they got the same game. Hanamichi will get a 100 rebounds and 0 points, is a defensive stopper, and will dive for the ball just like Rodman

Kaede Rukawa: Michael Jordan • Ruakawa is just a straight up a baller through the whole series. Honestly, his personality is really bland but he has that “will do anything to win” attitude Jordan has.

Takenori Akagi: Patrick Ewing • He’s the team capital and plays center. He has the same fade as Patrick Ewing too.

Ryota Miyagi: Kevin Johnson/ Bj Armstrong/ AI • The internet says Kevin Johnson but sticking to the Bulls theme I’d say Ryota is BJ Armstrong but honestly I feel like he plays like AI

Hisashi Mitsui - Reggie Miller. • Mitsui the shooter of the team and everything about his game screams Reggie Miller.

Coach Anzai- Phil Jackson • They are both the Zen masters

I played basketball all my life starting when I would watch my dad play at the park when he would bring me along and I would watch from the side. What I really like about Slam Dunk is that it captures that feeling you have when you played for your middle school or high school team. When you are that age, that’s the only thing that matters. Well, basketball and girls. That’s another thing that’s relatable is that Hanamichi literally started to play basketball just because he wants to get at a girl. Eventually though, it becomes more than just trying to get at a girl for Hanamichi, he finds passion in the game.

I love the character dynamics. Like how Haramichi and Ryota both love girls that don’t love them back. They pretty much have the same personality where they want to fight everyone but will do anything for a girl. Ryota and Haramichi literally joined the High School basketball team to impress a girl they liked. Also, they both got rejected hella times from girls in the past. Well, Hanamichi a solid 50 times where Ryota had 10. Both of them in the double digits of rejections. The bromance is real. I really like Mitsui’s back story that he was a star player but got injured. Basketball is Mitsui’s life and when he couldn’t do it any more, he just started doing bad shit and getting in fights. But Coach Anzai forgives him and lets him come back and this ignites his passion for the game again.

One of the biggest morals you get from Slam Dunk is that hard work, proper training, and persistence can lead to success. Hanamichi was straight garbage at the beginning of the anime but he got taught the fundamentals from Akagi and coach Anzai. Hanamichi took what was taught to him and practiced every day. Before practice, then went to practice and worked on his game after practice. Hanamichi was persistent.  Hanamichi went from not knowing basketball at all to mastering rebounding, lay ups, and working on a jump shot. Seeing him put in the work and having the results show is a great lesson to take from the show.

I just read the raw chapter for One Piece 1015 and man was this one intense. Oda always does a great job every chapter, honestly I never get done finishing reading a chapter and being like, damn that was good. But chapter 1015 is good good! Sanji comes in and kicks the shit out of Queen and Queen knows that Sanji is Judge’s son. This is going to finally be a good fight for Sanji where he can go all out and I want to get back story with what Queen knows about judge. I really liked the moment Chopper and Sanji had where Sanji praises Chopper for doing a good job in handling Queen. Then Sanji lets Chopper know that Luffy is going to be okay and Chopper realizing that Luffy has always pulled through. It makes sense Sanji and Zoro ended up there so Sanji could fight Queen and Zoro can be healed by Chopper. Honestly It felt like Sanji was running around forever.

We then cut to Kaido attacking Momo and Kinemon and its not some crazy Kanjuro drawing. Its Kaido for real for real. Kinemon is all ready on the verge of death crawling to Kaido and still stabs Kaido. That was like probably a fly on his shoulder like it didn’t even affect Kaido. Then boom! Kaido freaking stabs the Jesus out of Kinemon. It was a silhouette, but still, I think Kinemon is dead. Maybe that’s what Oda wants us to think but he really isn’t. Oda doesn’t really kill characters but I think he’s dead though man, he got impaled it was crazy. Shiobu is running away with Momo and Momo is balling his eyes out after seeing Kinemon get his guts stabbed out of him. Momo sees one of the frog alexa things that is able to connect and speak to the whole island and he tells the whole island Luffy told him that he is okay and will still beat Kaido’s ass. First of all, that shits crazy, cause Luffy is able to speak to Momo through “the voice of all  things” I’m guessing. Cause in the previous chapters where Momo was going all crazy saying he could hear a voice and people were like its Zunisha or maybe another ancient monster. Nah, it was Luffy. Is this something Luffy did out of desperation cause he was drowning or has he known he could do this with training with Rayligh maybe who knows?

It even goes father that Luffy’s voice was heard by Law’s crew in the submarine. So maybe its like a conquerors Haki think? Cause remember when Kaido knocked out Luffy in the beginning of Wano and Kaido was like “this mother fucker still mad dogging me even though he’s knocked out” that’s not the exact Kaido quote but you get the gist. But when Luffy was knocked out he was still able to use conquerors Haki. So maybe when Luffy figured out how to infuse conquerors haki with ryo in to his punches, he also realized he can use conquerors Haki to talk to people even though he’s knocked out? I don’t know!? This is One Piece every chapter, one question is answered that leads to a million more questions. It’s an infinite loop.
