If anything, Nonon’s exaggerating what she’s been through. She’d been there at the beginning of the COVERS invasion, the invasion of Honnouji — but memories beyond that eluded her. Still, it’s enough to gather some experience — the rest she pulls from somewhere deep within. Bullshit or not, it works, for the time being.
"See?" She tips her hand, a smooth gesture. ”Everyone I’ve run into here has said the same thing. 'I'm dead, but I don't know how.' If that’s not a scam, then I dunno what is.” There was an explanation to it — they just didn’t know it yet. Until something solid came up, she’d convince herself she was as alive and real as the next person (zombies not included).
She replies with a half-shrug. "Well, something close to it. It may not have included zombies, but it was pretty close to the apocalypse at the time." The memory — hundreds of COVERS, descending from the sky, devouring everyone in their wake — is enough to make even Nonon shake. "Not that I remember much of it, anyway."
"A scam, huh?"
It was an entertaining thought. But if they weren't dead, could they have been... alive? Just, in some kind of alternate universe or something like that? Alternate timelines are one thing, but alternate universes? ... By his standards, that wasn't such a surprising theory.
Standards which were unsurprisingly low after most of the shenanigans he's endured up until this point. And while he was still curious about whatever it was she had gone through-- finding it odd that he couldn't remember any apocalypse-like situations that were actually like this-- he decided not to ask.
"Can't say I've dealt with anything like that myself."
He couldn't say he'd really want to, either.
"But anyways, I'd much prefer if this was some kind of scam then actually having died. I'd take being tricked over being dead any day."
Unless it surmounted to death, anyways.
"... So. What's your name?"
