she is not arrogant, she isn't on a high horse. she is using the small amount of power she fought so hard to get to change things. she is grabbing at the only straw she has to stop the EXPONENTIAL GROWTH of pain and death. to break the cycle of dread. the only way she knew how was to cut off the externals. what else can she do??

sure, she had a bit of an attitude with ink5oul. but ofc this is the external who did chase her and torment her for an entire night. and also: it's definitely just an overconfident front. she's feigning overconfidence so ink5oul doesn't walk all over her. she is doing the same to celia, trying to make herself seem like a confident boss, even though its coming off as rude.

it's actually very selfless. she knows ink5oul, she knows other externals, and despite knowing how dangerous they all are, she put herself in danger to prevent handing out more assignments and hiring more externals!! she is trying to prevent these externals from going out and hurting and killing tons of random civilians just to rack up a few points on their dphw scales!!

she's honestly doing so much better than she was in season 1. she knows that she is to blame for some things. she sought out lena, was glad to see her okay, and admitted that she needed help. she's been struggling to keep the oiar functional with one employee present. she's actually shown concern about her coworkers, even if she doesn't want to admit it. she had to do SOMETHING. she HAD TO DO SOMETHING!

sure, it was probably a stupid idea. sure, now all the externals are going to come for her ass. but what was the alternative, hire a ton of externals and tell them all to go KILL MORE PEOPLE? let that weigh on her conscience forever? let the dread continue to build as local monsters murder people?

is she a perfect person? no. but we don't understand all of her motivations. we don't know anything about her backstory or background. all we know is what she is doing right now. and even if she seems to be forcefully doing things "Her Way," at least she is doing SOMETHING. at least she's TRYING.

FIRST LAW: This character must be a woman.

SECOND LAW: This character must be a loser, but not in a way that can be pinned on her gender. Misogynistic response from the audience does not disqualify the character.

THIRD LAW: If the audience does not enjoy this character, then it becomes impossible to enjoy the show/film/book/game altogether. It is not possible to ignore this character, for better or for worse.

i found this image to be quite inspirational, thus i wish to share it. you don't have to make something phenomenal much less rather something exceptional. you must first put it out there and tweak things later because you cannot build off of something you put nothing into. some day you'll regret never putting yourself out there.
