Nonsense and Absurdities

“Reality is being created by individuals struggling to express their own experience and whether they are in vogue or not in vogue. . . that’s nothing to do with the reality of art. I’m painting what I want to paint and as the saying goes I think with my brush and I think they’re too few people thinking with their brush.”

John Frusciante was 27 years old when this was released. I was 7 and wouldn’t know his music for another 10 years. Now 20 years later, on the verge of my 27th birthday, I turn to him for inspiration and comfort. Music transcends time and place to touch people in ways that they nor the artist could ever have expected. Thank you, John.
