Removing the division between “straight” and “gay” blurs the lines between “male” and “female,” too.
Along with the outright rejection of it, a growing “criticism” of bisexuality within the past two decades or so is that it’s “binary,” reinforcing gender divisions. As a nonbinary bisexual, too many people are obsessing over the wrong binary—and not realizing that that the systems segregating men & women and straights & gays go hand-in-hand. Bisexuality and nonbinary identity have much more in common than people think. There’s a reason bisexuality is so feverishly erased.
