Noir's question made him think for a few moments. Of all the literary genres, perhaps there wasn't one that became his favorite; he always believed that each genre had a particular story that could make it stand out from the rest. Oh, how he adored stories that dealt with ancient gods or stories with a bit of fantasy combined with horror.
After thinking about it for a while, he answered.
"Well... That's an excellent question. Actually, I don't really have a favorite genre; I love them all equally... But perhaps if I had to choose a specific genre, it would be science fiction, but with a touch of darkness."
Aaron sighed, remembering many of the novels, some of which are now feature films in theaters, and he marveled at the mere thought of them.
He dragged the small white couch to place it right next to the blue sofa and patted the seat, gesturing for Noir to please take a seat.
I remember when I was young, my father wouldn't let me read those kinds of books, so I had to do it behind his back. He was particularly keen on me reading Michael Crichton's hit novel, Jurassic Park.
Suddenly, he heard the kettle whine, a sure sign that the water was ready and safe to drink.
He got up from his seat and said to Noir before leaving.
"I'll go make the tea. I won't be long. Please, have a seat."
With that, he left the room and headed to the kitchen to get started on the hot drinks.
And regarding the authors, I hope I don't sound silly, but... Sometimes I don't pay attention to who the author of the book I buy is, but I like Poe's dark tales.
She said aloud from the kitchen, as she took some of her clean cups and placed chamomile tea bags with honey in each one, then carefully poured hot water into both cups.
After stirring the water with the tea bag for a while, she carried both cups into the living room and carefully placed them on the table next to the lamp.
And you, Noir? Do you have a favorite literary genre?
