𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗲 𝘄𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝘂 ˢʰⁱⁿᵈᵉⁱʳᵘ?

    a few hours had passed since jay had first arrived at the location but since then, not too many things had been going on. sure, he had met a few of his friends here and there, he had drunk with them, danced and had fun but there wasn’t anything happening that was worth talking about. so, as he stood outside of the club in the smoking area, he let his group of friends talk while he just stood and listened. it was a sight not many were used to seeing, but for some odd reason he wasn’t feeling too talkative in that moment. it might have been the alcohol slowly leaving his system– or maybe he just wasn’t in the right mood for the night after all. sighing, he looked around awkwardly until he spotted jiae not too far from where he was standing with his friends. excusing himself from the conversation he wasn’t participating in anyway, jay cheerfully walked over the familiar face.

this is a disaster, everything is a disaster. following each step that jiae took in stomps to wherever her feet decide to take her was trail of curse words created under her breaths. mutters and groans, and she halted - only to kick whatever that was nearby to release her frustration from tonight’s misfortunes before continuing to go on about.

what had caused so much anger in such a small body - not only was her amazing plan ( that she was so excited about for a year ) ruined, instead of putting on the kurapika costume that she had poured whole blood, sweat and tears into making, the poor girl was forced to get into a very tight fitting dress, so much that she had feared taking in a breath would cause a burst through the fabric. along with that, her face too was caked with so much beauty products and the party itself she was made to go by her parents was overall a mess. after having enough of the rounds introducing herself to other families and listening to them setting her up with their sons, jiae sneaked out. successfully, thank god. not. all the hassles turned out to be the opposite of making herself her own hero, as she is now wandering the night street with nothing but the dress that was barely covering her body.

for her entire walk, jiae was shivering. the cold had her skin feel like needles were pricking at it. as if that wasn’t enough, the dress like it was cursed, she became the target of all the catcalling from the guys on the street. god, one more time and she is going to throw fists for real.

and that was what she planned. when jiae heard yet another guy starting a conversation with her, her fingers quickly curled into a fist. she gritted her teeth while squinting her eyes, trying to make out the face in the dark, that in the moment felt familiar but also not. as jay’s face came into her sight, she sighed. “ it was you. ”

it was momentary that she felt relieved, as jiae now made a face upon listening to the other’s commentary on her looks. “ you’re so annoying, you know that ? why are you here anyway ? stop bothering me, shoo shoo. ”

she finished with a sniff, her arms were back to hugging her own body. unknowing to herself slowly scooting closer to the new companion as she looked around the busy street, she mumbled.
