Update to No Future on tapas.
I want to be done this chapter ;_; not that I hate it or anything... it's just... due to situations outside of my control, I've just been stuck working on it a really long time.

Sorry the updates have been so slow, I thought I would have picked up speed by now but it doesn't seem like it. I'm upset about that as well.
Also, apologies if anyone reads on Webtoons and the lack of updates that site has been getting. I Just don't get a lot of engagement from readers on that platform cause I guess people are a lot less interested in reading it there. So I just... forget about it. All the time.

I finally was able to finish the next page of the comic.
Sorry for such a long wait. It was way too soon for me to jump back into my webcomic when I did.
Things are still not 100% well or even dealt with, there's still court dates to go through even after all this time that has passed. (I'm so tired... recovering and dealing with the PTSD is one thing but all the legal stuff just dragging on forever makes recovering even more difficult)
However I think I am starting to do a little better, as at the least my flight or fight response isn't in overdrive as much as it used to be, so I am trying to get back into drawing my comics again.
Updates will be undependable I'm afraid to say, but hopefully the hiatus will be finished.
Thank you everyone for waiting for so long.

Uploaded the first chapter of the novel version of No Future to tapas.
It's obviously very behind the comic (for now) and waiting for chapters may take longer as it is much more time consuming for my editors to go through than comic pages are. Eventually though, it should start to get further ahead and tell the story at a faster pace than the comic is able to. There will not be a major difference in how the story line plays out in the novel compared to the comic, as I'm more so starting it up because I REALLY have to slow down on drawing because it is affecting my physical health, and taking hiatus and breaks is just not doing enough anymore.
That said it's not exactly the same as the comic, as there are a few extra scenes here and there that were cut out of the comic to lessen the drawing workload for me. So existing readers can look forward to that if they are intending to give this series a look.

Death is final and cannot be changed, not even by gods.
The god of death accidentally took the life of Andrew Perkasin before it was his time to go, in an attempt to compensate Death asks Era and Aeon, two lesser time gods, to reverse time to warn Andrew of his fate and give him a second chance at living his life so that he may live it with as much fulfillment as possible before his untimely encounter with death.
Andrew must now try to meet his life goals before he dies, while balancing school, family, his social life, a relationship and living alongside gods.

Because I get asked this question a lot in the comments section, yes, this series contains LGBTQ+ content.
Chapter 19 behind the scenes!!
As usual though all the pages will not show up in the post, there will be spoilers for chapter 18 of No Future.

So sorry, it's been a while. I got very depressed and it took a while for me to get out of it, still not fully recovered but I'm working toward it, so gonna return to doing this and read some more of my comic chapters to remind myself of how much I have managed to accomplish with it.
When releasing the comic I added special illustrations at the end of them, the little Andrew toy is supposed to kind of be a hint to who this character is, as they have not shown up in the comic yet. Some reader caught on!! Made me happy.
So the chapter continues the same scene directly from the last one, sometimes it's kind of weird to cut scenes like this and make it work smoothly. Though because this was a daily upload comic (and then later had the scenes together via archive) I don't think it was too much of a problem.
Unfortunately my script doesn't always cooperate with the comic form no matter how exact I try to get it to, usually at some point in the process of script -> layout -> sketch -> line art -> finished chapter, I think of a 'better' way to portray a scene (which usually messed up the page count or will even cause me have to redo all the the layout for all the pages after buuuut that's my problem to deal with)
Daisuke's mom is really the only adult (or person in general) that thinks that Nick is a good boy, which is fair considering how Nick currently treats the people around him.
After talking with Andrew about the reapers and his possible upcoming death, Nick decides that he wants to change his way and go through a character redemption arc, which everyone else thinks is kind of impossible for him. Nick doesn't really prove them wrong in the beginning though, as he both wants to do this, but also doesn't want to do the steps necessary. At first anyway.
Daisuke pulling the boyfriend (but not boyfriend) card for a good cause.
A lot of readers tend to ask "Are they actually boyfriends??? Or are they just friends??" Which is generally what everyone in the comic thinks about them too. Dai and Nick themselves aren't even completely sure about it at this point.
Donald get's these phone calls from this particular aunt several times in the comic. I'm not sure how much it stands out to readers for them to recognize the significance of them the first time they read through the comic, as it's very subtle foreshadowing. Second time readers hopefully will immediately realize with something like a "YOU!!!" kind of reaction.
The Bast subplot. I remember getting a few comments about how Bast's human form HAS to attract more readers because LOOK AT HER. It was pretty funny and I'm glad that her design was well received.
The point of this sub plot was to solidify the idea that some gods have multiple forms. It was a concept introduced with Era and Aeon, who have stated that because they are time gods, can freely change their age to whatever they want it to be. It also was to present the information to Andrew so that this could be triggered.
These small glimpses and visions of the future Andrew gets are important, though at the moment (even to where the comic is drawn so far) it may not be clear why, I promise it all has a reason and will make sense though x.x
There are actually SUPPOSED to be words on this paper that Andrew is writing on... but I forgot to add them ;_; It's unfortunately something I've been noticing while going back through old pages, things with steps I forgot to do or were even done but I forgot to turn the layer back on ^^;; I guess that's to be expected though when working on a project at as fast a pace as I did this one.
Andrew and Osiris have become comfortable with one another at this point, and as a result the two are very open with each other. It's a nice dynamic to work with as before Andrew was mostly just freaking out and getting annoyed with the gods around him. Last time Andrew did more of the talking among them, talking a little about his past, this time it's Osiris's trun. We even get to hear Osiris talk a little bit more about 'the wars' as well as his brother.
The wars where the gods were fighting one another resulting in a lot of them dying, is something that's referenced a few times, right now only bits and pieces are given but eventually a more detailed account of some of the events that happened in it is something I'm planning to go more in depth with later. Though it'll still be a while before the comic reaches that point.
The visions of the future can be tricky to pull off right sometimes. Sometimes I got a pretty clear idea of how to do a panel limit and highlight the information I want to convey to the readers, other times... it takes a few times before the panel turns out how I would like ^^;; at the least, I've yet to be unhappy with how they have turned out.
Osiris is very good at embarrassing Andrew while not meaning to.
It feels like I didn't have a whole lot of behind the scenes stuff for this chapter to share in a post, with it mostly being page or scene highlights.
At the least I think the story is both flowing very nicely and picking up as well. I'm also becoming more comfortable with drawing most of the characters... except for poor Lorelei, who's hair has changed again x.x

Chapter 18 behind the scenes!!
As usual though all the pages will not show up in the post, there will be spoilers for chapter 18 of No Future.
If you are interested in reading the whole chapter or comic, you can find it by following the link at the bottom of the post.
Daisuke was another character I mess up a lot on when drawing. The defining notes I have in my head when drawing the style used in the comic is 'big poofy hair' Which is hard to do on Dai without him looking like he has a 'high top' hair cut, or his head was too small compared to the other characters. So I messed up a lot earlier on in the comic trying to get him to fit in with the visuals of the other characters.
Eventually I fixed the problem by gradually cutting the 'poof' down for the other characters, so he blends in with them much better without having his hair looking like a completely different style than intended. (though I do still have to sometimes draw his head bigger cause his hair cut is still a lot tighter than other character, so his head will sometimes look too small compared to the others)
Why do we see Andrew taking a bath? Well, from a visual storytelling stand point, it's so the readers can see the scar he has one him, which is very important later on in the series, but really isn't important to the characters enough for it to me mentioned in dialogue, with a bath the most casual way to transfer this information while also not directly focusing on it and pointing it out, as Andrew is always wearing clothes that cover the mark.
Andrew's bad luck with being interrupted while in the bathroom continues.
Bast's constantly changing gestures in each panel she is in is actually a lot of fun to draw. From drawing standpoint, it helps her from looking like she's a stuffed animal, especially when Osiris is holding her under his arm. From a personal standpoint. I Just really like drawing animal expressions and body language.
It's also REALLY noticeable when I don't so it. As it can be seen in these panels. So I try to pay attention to Bast's 'acting' when I'm able to (sometimes arthritis does not cooperate so well, and it is one of the things I have to cut to get the page out without damaging myself)
Nick's family is not great.
This is my younger sister's keychain for her single key. She laughed very hard when she read over and saw a depiction of her keychain in the comic.
Bast is amazing.
Nick once again being easily distracted from the task at hand.
This is another thing I pulled from life experience, I was horrible at spelling as a kid, and usually got 0% on all of my spelling tests. One of the other kids in my class felt bad and let me copy his spelling. We both got in trouble for cheating and moved to the opposite ends of the room.
At that age neither of us actually realized that it was cheating, we both thought that its was just a way of helping each other.
Andrew is one of the few people in Nick's life that has told him that he doesn't think Nick's stupid.
I remember a lot of readers getting confused with Daisuke's mom being Asian. I thought Dai's name was enough to clue in that Daisuke was mixed race but I guess not haha.
On that note, both his parents are Japanese. They're just not both Asian. It's a concept that I've had a surprising amount of trouble communicating with people? The idea that there is a none Asian minority in Japan is not something that I guess a lot of people think is a thing? (Daisuke was also born in Japan, and spent his early childhood growing up there)
Another note that is slightly related, I am absolutely shit at Japanese in terms of writing it. So there is probably a better way for me to have phrased what Daisuke said, I'm just more terrible at Japanese than I am at English, which I am very bad at. (I have a friend who edits my comic pages before I post them, so hopefully readers don't realize just how terrible I am at English)
German I am also not got at writing, the only know vocally some things, so I had to get help for writing the lines for Hannah's dad cause even if I can understand it when I hear it I can absolutely not spell it at all.
I try not to have other languages show up too much, because it's difficult to track down people willing to and having time to look over it to double check if it is right, unlike English. Almost EVERYONE tells me when I mess up on English. People with English as their first language REALLY like to tell you when you get something wrong I have learned.

Chapter 17 behind the scenes!!
As usual there will be spoilers for chapter 17 of No Future.
Been a while since I did one of these, kind of feel into one of those depressive self deprecating moods because I'm not working enough, and my work when I do do it not being good or good enough, and basically me being very very mean to myself.
ANYway trying to get out of that so here we go, back to the chapter readings.
We start the chapter with Era being dramatic and Donald trying to talk Andrew into being more respectful at school to avoid getting in trouble, a conversation I got from my mom a lot as well lol.
These kids put Donald through so much, honestly xD I'd be tired too.
This is a true story that happened to my poor younger brother.
The dialogue in the top panel still amuses me, though I think I could have positioned the reading order better.
This would be a good 'spot the main characters' image if it was in colour cause of Andrew's blue hair. (and yes all 3 of them are actually somewhere among the students)
In a unexpected turn of events, Nick takes the fall for the bathroom getting destroyed, and to everyone confusion, Osiris feels bad about it.
Egyptian God jokes.
Osiris please, what Andrew said.
Nick is not very good at focusing, even why trying to beat up someone.
Osiris casually implies that seems to know a lot about Nick and Andrew doesn't think to question him about it.
Daisuke has a very good point actually.
Era's being a dad to his terrifying looking children is always a joke I enjoy seeing.
I like how Andrew aggressively freaks out at reapers but is just, paralyzed with fear when it comes to Death herself. I mean, sure, she IS death and the mother of reapers, but she's also a lot less intimidating in a visual sense.
After being told by Era to relax because only people who have already died can see them, Andrew discovers that Nick can see them too. Prompting Aeon to explain further.
I remember getting a few complaints about the mark of death being boring ^^;;; they were expecting something cooler.
So we end the chapter with Andrew getting the horrifying realization that this isn't just all about him, and that there are other people who have had their lives cut shorter than he had his, and are reliving their lives until they die the same as him, just without the help of gods since gods were not the cause of other people's deaths.
I enjoyed working on this chapter, had some interesting scenes regarding Andrew's visions of the future, the implications that come with turning back time in the realm, and the narrative empathy towards Nick who most readers were not expecting, and are still on the fence of if they want to know more, or are annoyed that they have to find out more. I can't really blame them though, Nick did not have a very good introduction into the series.
Redemption arcs are generally very difficult to do right, and can be a pretty touchy subject in general, so it's also understandable why people are unsure about the idea of it. I've been told I have handled it well in regards to Nick, so hopefully I have.

Chapter 16 behind the scenes!!
As usual there will be spoilers for chapter 16 of No Future.
I like these pages but that the last panel with disgruntled Aeon is a favourite of mine.
Anyway, Aeon was supposed to have kind of a small crush on Lorelei that generally never went anywhere, just kind of a younger kid thinking an older kid is cool kind of way. Some readers didn't really like it cause of the age difference, either in regarded to Lorelei being older than Aeon, or Aeon being technically older than Lorelei because 'god ages' regardless of him being constantly referred to as a new god, (technically, he looks older than he is, as his creation was more recent) but again it really wasn't supposed to be anything that amounted to any kind of relationship, just a 'oh wow she is so cool' kind of crush.
Not really related to the scene at all, but this hand gesture right here, I almost always mess up by drawing one too many fingers. I don't know what it is about this hand gesture but I mess it up almost all the time, and of course I never notice until after I post the page and I get a comment saying 'I think there's one too many fingers' This panel, I know for a fact I had to go back and get rid of the extra fingers he had xD
First off, dang Era, why u so mean??
Second, a lot of people thought Morta was a guy, which means that for this scene they also thought that this was Fate and that Fate himself had shown up. Since Fate is the only male god of fate with the other 3 being constantly referred to as 'the sisters'
I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but I run into this confusion from readers a lot, my boys will be confused as girls and my girls will be confused as boys. My designs I guess kind of boarder on gender neutral I guess.
I don't mind when I get comments that are a little confused, but it kind of sucks getting complaints about the same topic, like there is a specific way that each specific gender SHOULD or SHOULD NOT look. It really bugs me, especially when those rules did not exist for me and my family while I was growing up. lots of my uncles and even my dad all had long hair, and my dad in particular is very small and petite, so it wasn't uncommon or weird for me. Same with my aunts and short hair. These rules for gender just did not exist in my family so it's weird to get in trouble for breaking rules I didn't realize existed.
This is another problem I would run into earlier on in the comic when it came to these two characters duel wielding different sized clock hands. When it came to drawing I would get right and left mixed up all the time, this panel it's really noticeable because he's holding it in one hand in the top panel, and then it's implied he was holding it in another in the bottom.
This issue came from both me flipping the canvas a lot when drawing, so I didn't notice it was different until posting, as well as I actually DO have trouble telling right from left irl. I can't remember if it's from my ADHD or my dyslexia, but it's one of those. I became more aware that it was affecting my comic panels at some point though, and because I was aware of it was able to catch it and fix it more often in later pages. But yeah, it was and still is a thing I've got to be careful of.
Aeon really hates this, he's being cooperative because Era told him to but he is not at all enjoying this.
I like this page where I attempt to help illustrate what Morta is explaining. Also each time we've seen Fate in the comic his image becomes a little more clear as we learn a little more about him. He's very much an enigma at this point, and it takes some time before he actually gets some speaking lines in the comic, with most of the conflict being executed by the sister's despite him being the cause.
This was my attempt at keeping him a threat without him actually doing anything yet at this point, until he eventually of course comes into play and you see how much of a threat to Andrew he is. For now until Fate's appearance, Morta is the most threatening of the sisters, and she generally fills her role very well (I think anyway)
Name drop for Vita happened pretty early in the comic too =O well.. at least early compared to when she actually shows up.
Daisuke got hurt from Osiris chucking a piece of toilet at him so YEAH, he probably should go see a doctor about that.
So upon checking in on Nick and Daisuke we learn that the school principal is his dad, and that Nick had been the one to spill what had happened in the bathroom.
Without going into detail Nick is... scared of his dad to put things most simple. So along with them being related I kind of wanted to make sure readers got that idea from the scene.
Here we have Andrew's first 'memory of the future' Explained in the next chapter they are memories Andrew has from his first attempt at life.
I tried to figure out to make them visually distinctive whenever they popped up, so that readers can immediately point them out to being 'memories from the future' without having to be told past this first one. So I gave them a gray grainy textured overlay, to give it kind of a simplified static kind of look without it looking exactly like static because it's not a TV, it's a memory.
I think the little visual trick worked, as so far I haven't gotten complaints about being confused over if it was a flash back or a future memory from readers. So that's good.
Anyway, that brings us to the end of this chapter. I like the memories of the future that Andrew has, though they generally tend to get much more mature than the rest of the comic as they all take place in 'Sin's' life.
I always worry that things might be confusing because we get occasional scenes from both the past and the future in this comic, but so far they haven't been mixed up (or if they have, the readers have not let me know yet)

Chapter 15 behind the scenes!!
As usual there will be spoilers for chapter 15 of No Future.
I kind of can't believe I managed to do 48 chapters of this (so far) that's almost 2300 pages x.x with an average of 4 - 5 panels a page, do you know how many times I have had to draw Andrew and company?? And I'm not even close to finished ._.
Anyway for this cover we got Lorelei, Lorelei is unfortunately a character that took a long time for me to be able to draw consistently x.x I'm really not sure why she gave me so much trouble but it was a problem for a while. Though I think I've got the hang of drawing them by now 40 chapters later (at least I hope)
Era explaining how gods can just casually erase themselves from photos while harassing Osiris.
I really need to go back and make Osiris's hair poofier in this scene, it was much more everywhere in the sketch but for whatever reason I toned it down in the finished version? I'm not sure why actually?? But I remember not really liking the end result of that panel and feeling like I could have done better after posting it. I was really feeling that 'erasing the image from existence' energy Osiris was feeling I guess.
Abaddon jump scaring Andrew again.
Andrew is truly a wordsmith.
This scene was a lot of fun to do, despite how tedious that balcony was to draw in every panel. At this point I was defiantly used to Era and Aeon's characters so they became far easier for me to work with both in concerns to writing and drawing. Working with them was very natural at this point so I think a lot of their scenes where they are together turn out better now than they did in earlier chapters.
I messed up on Lorelei's height trying to get the door frame in the panel so the visuals for the gag would work better. I tend to focus on one detail at a time instead of the whole picture x.x so I run into a lot of mistakes like this when going through pages. The consequences of being the only person working on a project I suppose.
"Andrew is smart" was a plot twist for readers just as much as it was for Era and Aeon.
Also this scene made a few readers think that Lorelei was into Osiris, she isn't, at least, not like that. She just got focused enough on what he wrote on the board to inquire about it, she's just like that. Unfortunately this does not apply very often for things that pop up in school so she some subjects she's in the below average version of the classes. She has learning disabilities, she mentions so later in the comic, but that doesn't make her incapable of learning, just things have to specifically interest her for her to want to learn about it.
This was kinda of a thing for me too, a lot of people I know think I'm smart, or must have done well in school because I just... remember the most random facts and can bring them up in a conversation, but then they are always really shocked to learn that actually, I did not do well in school and was often in the below average classes. There's a very specific stereotype of kids that are in those classes that is really unfair, and I generally wanted to give a more accurate example of some of the kids that do end up in classes like that.
I enjoy how completely unbothered Lorelei is with Era's comments and just works with them.
Era please.
Aeon please.
This chapter was fairly straight forward compared to other recent chapters, from beginning to end we remained in the same location despite the topics of conversation jumping from one things to another.
Sometimes comic chapters will jump around to all kinds of different scenes, and sometimes it'll just stick to one, both a great as long as your readers are still engaged I think. Just do whatever your story needs for you to tell it.

Chapter 14 behind the scenes!!
As usual there will be spoilers for chapter 14 of No Future.
This chapter's cover is Andrew's mom, who doesn't appear very often in the comic for... obvious reasons. She does show up in this one though because traumatic flashbacks!!
Anyway, this is one of my fav chapters because Andrew and Osiris just have a really great conversation in it. I know that sounds not all that interesting but uhh... I duno. I really liked it.
We start the chapter off with Bast wandering around the apartment complex and meeting one of the neighbors.
It's a little obvious how this side plot might turn out but who cares, we love to see it.
Glad to see me drawing Donald's glasses right in this chapter (why am I picking on myself???)
Andrew doesn't always get along with his dad, he doesn't hate his dad at all, in fact he loves him really much and thinks highly of him for 'putting up with my shit all the time', the two just butt heads a lot and get easily frustrated with the other. Mostly when it comes to what Andrew should do, or should be doing for his future. Donald wants his son to live a good life better than the one he had, Andrew feels like he ruined his dad's life by existing, which kind of makes him feel like his dad is trying to live his dreams out through him.
These complicated feelings reflect a lot of what I went through as a kid. My parents were young when they had me, and I know people talk a lot about how 'kids just say whatever comes to mind, they just don't have a filter' but adults would do it too. The amount of times an adult would just casually say something along the lines of 'your mother had such promise, she could have been anything but instead she decided to have you' like, yeah, I get it. I was born and ruined my mom's life. Thanks for being the 12693473289th one to tell me this again.
My mom must have felt like a song stuck on repeat having to say the same old 'You were not a mistake, you were an unexpected surprise. I was a reckless kid that did drugs and got into trouble, I wouldn't have a future if I didn't have my kids.' to all her kids every time one of us would get hit with comments like that.
I do wish I would have done these panels another way, I didn't care for them when I original worked on them but decided to suck it up and deal with it, but I still don't like him because the 2 panels look like just 1 panel but warped. I should have drawn the two of them smaller in the first panel I think.
Osiris's concern manages to get Andrew to open up to him, and Andrew started to tell Osiris a bit about his past, from what he knew of his parents meeting to living with his parent's in Donald's father's home.
We find out Andrew's dad was the one that came from a troubled household, and once he was old enough to leave it, he did, going as far as to leave the country his parents were in and live in another, where it would be more difficult for them to reach him, his wife (girlfriend at the time actually) and his children. (on that note, Andrew' parents never actually had a wedding of any kind, they just filled out the paper work for it without any formal ceremony after coming to the country they live in currently)
A lot of these pages I tried to tell as much story as possible with Andrew descriptions being shorter and to the point, I didn't want to entirely get rid of his voice, but I wanted the pictures to tell most of the story. I like the result I ended up with.
When Andrew is finished explaining the story, we get this conversation.
This is the moment where Andrew starts to fall. dhfakldshfiuwy
So this scene is one of my favorites, I was really proud of it when I wrote it and even more proud when I finished it drawing it all out. This is one of those scenes that you can't wait to get to so other people could read it too.
When it was finished I was showing it to my artist friends and included it in my pitches for collectives (as I was applying for collectives at the time, though I've given up on that and don't do it anymore). Unfortunately it generally was not very well received by them or any place I sent it to, it was really demoralizing, but I told myself that I still liked it and if no one enjoys my work then at least there's me. (though big shout out to my readers that did like it, it was REALLY encouraging seeing such positive comments on these pages for this chapter)
So during that talk there was actually a woman in a car that took a photo of Andrew and Osiris while they were having their heart to heart, and we go back to this mysterious group of people.
I just like this page, very right to the point.
And then the chapter comes to an end.
This chapter had a lot of things going on, we got the usual Andrew's problems, we got some nice chemistry between our two leading boys, we got Andrew lore, we got some Osiris lore, and we got to check in with mysterious 3rd party and get a few more hints on what they are up to and what their story is.
All and all, I think it's a pretty good chapter that covered a good amount of things. I mean, that's what I think anyway. (it's actually very hard to not just recap the story lol, I mean... knowing what's going on in the story is what the comic is for <.< my story explanations should be very small in these, I keep having to delete my rambling)
Anyway, this project was more of a personal project that I was doing for health and featuring a story that was important with me. I got so excited about how much I liked it that I overestimated how well it would be received and tried to share it with others. Until this point I generally did not advertise the comic very much, but while working on this chapter I decided I was ready to advertise and pitch it (I had work for companies with my comics before). Unfortunately it was not well received at all and I realized I was overestimating how much people besides me would enjoy this project. So I decided to stop pitching and minimized my advertising cause it would annoy people, and instead just stay in my lane and not expect too much from a project that I work on mostly for physio therapy.
I was just, really happy with how this whole project was going and let my excitement get the best of me.

Chapter 13 behind the scenes!!
As usual there will be spoilers for chapter 13 of No Future.
This cover confused a lot of readers, as they had no idea who this character was. For those who aren't sure, it's Donald, Andrew's dad. It probably would have been easier if the comic was in colour as originally planned but yeah... it's all still in black and white. Ah well...
There was nothing more infuriating when adult's would try to prove you did something by doing the "OOOHH well HOW do YOU know that???" for something that literally every one in the school could see. For real, it would always be for stuff that would be impossible to not know about if you went to school.
"Oh??? How did YOU know your friend *name* was skipping class??" Uhh... same way EVERYONE in the school knew? Because there was an announcement on the school speakers telling him to return to class like just telling them to go back would work??? That's not like a personal phone call you know, that's a 'everyone in the school can hear' call.
Small drawing note: I completely forgot to draw the perspective in for the bench Abaddon is sitting on x.x I should go back and fix that one day cause it looks really awful.
Note not related to drawing: These comments are directly taken from comments my own parents would get when they had to come to the school because I or one of my siblings got into trouble, which... it was mostly me and my brother they had to go in for, and we ended up making them come in a LOT, but yeah, a lot of the comments that Donald and Abaddon get in this chapter are based off of things staff at the schools I went to would tell my parents. (minus the assumption that me and my siblings did not have the same father, which the implications would REALLY piss off my mom) The way they respond is generally how my parents would respond with being confronted with accusations such as this.
Mr. Lassiter hates having to say Abaddon's 'last name'
Also Osiris cannot be contained.
This was another thing I ran into a lot when I was a kid, the assumptions that problems where never with school, the problems were from home, school was just the place they acted out on their home problems. Unfortunately the problems were always at school. I didn't get harassed for being short at home, I didn't get kids and adults being racist to me at home. I could only hear teachers, staff and students talk shit about me and my family at school, not at home. I was a creepy child because my presence somehow made my teachers uncomfortable, not a psychic child.
My issues were very much because of how people treated me at school, not because I had a key to my house because my school finished before my parents jobs did.
Abaddon...
Based off of things I remember my mom said to the teachers when they would test her nerves and imply that she had no idea how to take care of children at her age.
This surprised a few readers as well, some saying it was an unexpected twist. For me it just felt like the natural response (though I guess I also know the characters better than the readers at this point in the comic) Jourdain hates Andrew, but doesn't HATE hate him. Their relationship is more nuisance than that. They'll likely never be friends, and are always going to be trying to one up the other, but they also don't want to cause the others downfall if that makes any sense.
Again another thing that happened often when I was a kid, even when found out I wasn't at fault, it would still be my fault that I was blamed. There really is no winning with some systems.
The conversation with the principal takes up most of this chapter, but is resolved by the end of it, with a lot of it based of real conversations I experienced as a kid, but not exactly obviously, as it's still it's own original story, just there def some parallels there. You can really tell that this script was originally written when I was 14-15 because stuff like this would have been fresh on my mind at that time.
I did enjoy this chapter, I could relate a lot to it (lol ;_;)

Chapter 12 behind the scenes!!
As usual there will be spoilers for chapter 12 of No Future.
This is actually still one of my favourite covers, there's just a lot more going on that there usually in terms of character acting, so it's just a lot of fun even though it was pretty simple to draw compared to some of my other covers (due to not having to work with faces AND it only being 2 colours to work with)
Along with being rudely woken up constantly, the second most common thing to happen to Andrew seems to be bathroom related bullshit. Which prompted this sketch at some point.
So look forward (??) to more of that I guess.
Some good exchanges of dialogue between these two in this chapter.
My fav being the gym class scene.
This scene was received pretty well, I believe it is the episode that got got the most comments (though my comic in general does not do very well on there at all so it's not too hard to beat other episodes that have 0 - 3 comments)
At this point Nick has solidified that Osiris is now his eternal enemy. Sure the bathroom incident started it but this moment is def the defining 'we are never going to get along and I am going to destroy you' moment.
This page kinda reminds me of this meme.
It's actually very hard not to post every page of this scene into this post LOL
It's just a very fun scene.
This page actually got a few readers concerned, despite the majority of them highly disliking this character. Since it was stated earlier by Abaddon that only people who have a mark of death are able to see her children. I suppose I should take that as a good reaction?
So sorry for all the jabs at your accent Andrew, but if I had to go through them you do to, I need to vent somewhere.
And the chapter ends with Andrew and Osiris waiting in the office to talk to the principal. A character who gets more and more hated by my readers every time he shows up.
Which is, I mean, I get it and I don't blame them.
This is a very eventful school day for Andrew and Osiris. Though actually, I think this is the only chapter that focuses on an actual school day. A school theme was never intended to be a genre setting for the series, it's kind of just a necessary evil because of the characters current ages at this point in the story.
That said I actually get some backlash about writing students in a 'high school' setting and that I should change it to a collage setting. Even people refusing to read it when I pitched it because 'I'm tired of adults writing sexualized stories about kids' Which is... it's not sexual? It's just queer. A collage setting just doesn't work for the story at all... also I've never been to collage so I would not be able to put any relatable stuff or even, retell events that happened to me in it like I can with this one. Not to mention, the script was originally written when I was in Jr. high so... yeah... I don't know what to do about it honestly...
I understand that my story will not be for everyone, but the misconceptions about it just because the characters occasionally have to go to school because of their ages is... weird...
Edit: I keep forgetting to add the link to the comic at the end x.x

Chapter 11 behind the scenes!!
As usual there will be spoilers for chapter 11 of No Future.
Feeling a little under the weather today so should probably should try to take it easy. So, more chapters to read.
Scenes like this were actually difficult to work on, I mentioned before that I moved the subplot with Jourdain further back into the script than it originally was, and that was so that I could move the subplot with Nick and Jourdain up. Though this decision wasn't made right away, it was made after a few months of drawing Nick acting like this in the comic (which is thankfully not as long for new readers reading the comic as it was for me while drawing it and readers who were reading along while I was drawing it) as I mentioned before, script doesn't take anywhere near as long to get through as it does when translated to a comic, so in script form, the wait for Nick's character development arc didn't feel as long. Unfortunately because of the slow process that drawing a comic was, it felt like it lasted a lot longer than it did in the comic.
I decided that I just didn't like how uncomfortable working on these scenes made me and how long I would have to be uncomfortable working on them whenever they popped up, and I wasn't really looking forward to working with such a character for years worth of drawing time.
So I move around scenes and subplot in the script so that Nick's character growth arc started sooner. Hopefully I was able to integrate the change well without it feeling too rushed or out of place, but yeah, it needed to be moved because Nick was not an enjoyable character to work with before it.
Was it really worth getting out of bed for this? Osiris thinks not.
Osiris just seems to have that affect on people. Readers included, which honestly it's really nice to know as an author that he is a well received character. Though, so is his brother, so sometimes there are debates in the comments over who is better. Which is honestly kind of suiting considering the gods the characters are based off of.
This page got a good amount of comments along the lines of "there's nothing weird about this washroom, that's just what school washrooms look like."
So there's actually a lot of nice pages in this fight scene (a lot of bad ones too)
But I don't wanna put too many in the thread.
So here are just a few I've picked and chosen of my favourits.
My favourites from either how they turned out, or how much I enjoyed drawing them. Like the last one, I really enjoyed drawing the first 4 panels.
Fight scenes are getting a little better, but still not great. I got a lot of complements for this one from my readers, but I also got a lot of shit from other comic creators cause it was hard to see what was going on in concerns to the action, as well as I got too creative with the camera and it was confusing for them and would be confusing to the readers. (a lot of examples of why I'm not good enough to get into Hiveworks were taken from this fight scene, regardless of these being very old pages when they were looked over)
The chapter ends with Aeon and Osiris (mostly Aeon) driving Decima and Nona back from the realm, and Osiris being a little concerned over how Aeon reacted during the fight.
Another quick chapter to get through, but is did have the other half of the fight scene from the last chapter, and those are generally pretty easy to get through. Probably even more so for me because I drew them, and remember a lot of the panels very quickly so I generally only need a quick glimpse to remember and have the image/process in my head.

Chapter 10 behind the scenes!! We made it to the double digits!
As usual there will be spoilers for chapter 9 of No Future.
This was another moment of be being caught off guard by how absolutely confused readers would be if they did not know the Osiris myth. Because... oh wow... were readers CONFUSED on why his hand came off.
The duplicating thing is new though, and not part of the myth, but basically each piece of him when separated can be navigated by a soul of the dead. Though the specifics of how this ability of his works isn't explained in this chapter, is does come up again and explained in a later chapter.
Aeon just gets right to it and skips the talking, which is shocking to everyone, but probably more shocking to Osiris because up until this point Aeon has never been or shown signs of being violent.
If Andrew and Nona were on the same side they would probably get along well.
The ego battle that happened between Andrew and Jourdain in the last chapter is fresh on Osiris's mind.
Nona and Aeon go back to fighting because Osiris could only hold him back for so long. Soon after this point Decima and Osiris join in the fight as well, cause you can only stand around trying to talk things out for so long, and it's clear that both Aeon and Nona have had enough of that.
On that note, Decima is the most diplomatic of the 3 sisters, if you can convince her of your side there is a possibility you could get her to change her mind. Nona and Morta though, once their mind is set there is little you can do to change that.
After this fight a friend maked me a brush for the marks on a ruler, because oh.my.god the amount of time it would take to draw all those little notches in was time consuming and it was painful for me and all artists that saw me making the pages, to see me drawing these little notches for days every time I streamed in the hangout. (It was a private artist hangout that survived for a while after the site we were all working for went down. With artists in various levels of the site would all sit in while working on our comics, it was nice to work while hanging out with someone, especially when that work would talk most all of your day, often more than normal full time hours)
I have yet to actually use the ruler brush though... I have not drawn another fight scene with her in it, but I can't wait to use it when she does show up for her next fight.
Got a lot of positive comments on how unexpectedly cool Osiris suddenly became during these two pages.
But I guess that means people didn't think he was very cool before this, sorry Osiris.
I like this full page end. It's very nice. Though Osiris's nose is wrong in his side profile and it bugs me every time I see it xO still I like the way it turned out, it's very nice regardless.
And that's the end of this chapter, it feels like I didn't have too much extra stuff to say about this one, the next chapter may be similar because it's the other half of this fight scene. And fight scenes go by pretty fast when reading both because of the lack of text, and there's usually a lot less panels to make the action bigger on the page so readers have an easier time visualizing the fight.
I'm still not very good at fight scenes or this point, or even now, at least I don't think I am. I feel like my fight scenes were better in the comic I worked on before this one x.x because I had a much more detailed descriptions of the fights to work from compared to this series, but at the least, I do like the Nona / Decima vs. Aeon / Osiris fight more than the Era vs. Nona one we got earlier in the story. So I guess it's a sign of improvement
Edit: I keep forgetting to post the link to the comic at the end of these x.x and having to quickly edit it in...
