travis has said in the past julia is a way for him to cope with his mom dying, and also a representation of his fear of his wife dying. it’s extremely personal to him.

he’s said in the past that he’s uncomfortable with people shipping magnus with others because magnus loves julia and doesn’t want to be with anyone else. and people still just ignore him? i hate it

i understand why the dead wife trope is bad and annoying, but travis didn’t do horribly with it. it wasn’t rubbed in anyone’s face, and only brought up when relevant to the story. and it was resolved well. magnus didn’t decide that he would always love julia but go off and marry another lady in the end. they reunited, which you never ever see ever. the payoff was much better than a normal dead wife trope story.

and people who complain about giving “straight people feelings” like…. stop? magnus as a character is deeply deeply personal to travis and i feel like erasing an entire aspect of his story (a personal one, too) is just so disrespectful. it’s not a matter of Straight People, but basic human decency and respect. also……. magnus and julia dont gotta be straight. the boys have said before that anything headcanoned is canon. so that’s easily resolved.

i’d understand if people didn’t know that’s what travis meant, but i can’t see how they’d miss him explaining it. he’s said it like.. out loud.
