The Gallaghercest Song Meaning Survey
What is it?
A series of surveys collecting opinions of gcest shippers on the meanings behind Noel and Liam's songs. Surveys will be released weekly, with every week corresponding to an album and its b-sides.
For each song, you can:
Rank the likelihood that Noel or Liam wrote it about their brother
Describe how you interpret the song
Provide evidence regarding the song's meaning
All questions are optional, so you can answer for every song or just a few, and you can provide as much or as little detail as you would like. First and foremost this is supposed to be fun, so the surveys are designed for maximum flexibility.
When is it?
Surveys will be released from December 2025 through to the end of April 2026, with each survey remaining open for one week. Amnesty periods for missed weeks will run through the first two weeks of February and the whole of May.
Surveys will close to responses on June 1.
Results will be released on July 1.
Why?
Stave off those post Live 25 blues. Polls are scheduled to start the week after the final concert
An excuse to work your way through the Gallaghers' back catalogue again - or maybe even for the first time
Dig into the meanings of Noel and Liam's songs. Share your interpretations and hear what other people think. Maybe hit someone with a cricket bat for being wrong? No. Don't do that.
Crowdsource supporting evidence. If you're lucky, you might learn some new Lore about the origins of your favourite songs
And above all, have some fun obsessing over your favourite brothers like you were probably going to be doing anyway.
