Why was that a problem?
Because sometimes hybrids had very complicated mating rituals, and you didn’t even know where to start or who to ask. His own twin brother Emmet was a Galvantula hybrid.
You were dropping off lunch for Ingo when you ran into Emmet and his mate returning from a quick lunch date. They were chatting about something, but you seemed to zero in on the cute silk scarf around his mate’s neck.
You go to excuse yourself, but Emmet stops you.
“Did you like my brothers humming?”
That… Was an odd question.
His mate looks away from him, but you catch an expression on their face that looks like they are going to throttle him the moment they are out of eyeshot.
Was Ingo humming? Now that you thought about it, you realized he had been. It was the same little melody over and over - you had assumed that he had a song stuck in his head or something. Hesitantly, you nodded to the younger twin.
You always did like Ingo’s ghostly singing voice and regular voice, you were sure his humming would be no different.
Before Emmet could say anything else, his mate grabbed two of his arms and dragged him through the door of the office. You were confused, but he and his mate always did have a unique relationship. You just hoped that they cleaned up after themselves.
A few days later, you were sitting outside at the pokemon park with the twins and Emmet’s mate. You were sitting with Ingo, watching his team galavant with yours. As you chuckled at their antics, Ingo started humming again.
It was the same melody, now that you were hearing it a second time you recognized it. You realized that Ingo had been humming this particular melody for some time, and you immediately started slowly rocking back and forth with his song.
Ingo was watching you, wide eyed. You had never looked so beautiful to him in that moment, and he had suddenly gone silent and dry-mouthed at the sight.
Emmet, from a bench across the park, screeched in frustration.
It was one week later when you realized the humming for what it was: a love song.
How long had Ingo been humming this to you? Now that you knew, you noticed it everywhere. When you brought him lunch, he hummed. Even when you challenged his lines, he still hummed during your battles.
Ingo had been courting you the whole time and you just hadn’t noticed it.
You invited Ingo over to your apartment after he got off work, but you wanted to make sure everything was perfect. You wanted to court him like a Chandelure - to let him know that you felt the same way in his language. Even if you looked like an idiot doing it.
Ingo knocked on the door, before you shouted to him that he could open it. Inside, you wore a lacy black dress with purple accents that matched his flames. He flushed, his mouth open and closing like a fish hybrid.
Grabbing his hand, you pulled him into a slow dance and started humming your song to him.
His flames burned brighter than you had ever seen them, illuminating the dimly lit room in an eerie purple glow. It took him a moment to realize that this was real, you were humming to him, and he started humming back - grabbing your hand to lead your slow dance.
You looked up at his face, a bright red flush on yours.

Imagine having one of those days where you're just so fatigued and achey that you can't muster the energy to get out of bed, but it's okay! Because cuddly candle husband is there to snuggle you and provide you with enough heat to drive off the awful thin-skinned anemic feeling.

They're just taking in the serenity of the place, the atmosphere, respectufully taking pictures of the older graves so the dead aren't forgotten. Ingo's a purple beacon in the night, so there's no way the person doesn't see him, but instead of running away like he's fully expecting them to, they just. Greet him.
Goth person is super intrigued, even excited to meet him, calls him beautiful, asks his name. Ingo is immediately enamored. Phone numbers are exchanged, goth is the one to ask him out first - maybe they sneak into a movie or something together with Ingo possessing his new datemate (consensually, of course; maybe it even becomes like a form of foreplay later.)
Goth!reader obviously becomes Ingo's mate. Pretty eagerly, actually. He doesn't judge them for their choice of aesthetic or music. He listens to them talk about horror movies. What's not to fall in love with?
Come for the hot gothic ghost man, stay for the perfectly sweet and adorable ghost gentleman. Marry him immediately. (Goth!reader is the one to propose. They just love him so much.)

Even though he's a ghost, Chandelure Ingo isn't a fan of horror. Emmet tormented him too much when they were younger and people draw too many mean comments towards him from them. You'll have to comfort ghost man because he's scared by Everything in them.
Though, the idea of him, terrified, possessing his partner is hilarious. You're just stone faced and chill while you're outwardly crying and shivering because Ingo is Scared. He can't be comforted that killer is going to get him somehow (despite the fact he can literally make his body invulnerable to physical attacks).
(I think my bright yellow spider husband would appreciate my bright orange clothing. We can stop traffic together uwu.)
