π²Going on a "Break"π² πA wise man recently told me that our minds are like the forests. And in our forests, we have hiked the same paths to make our way through life the same way ever since we were young and this is all we know. πThis is all fine and well until we get older and realize maybe there's a different way. Maybe those paths of self pity or anger aren't the only option. Maybe there are better ways to go about the hike. Fortunately, even though our minds are run by patterns we've created, we also have the ability to break those patterns and replace them with something better. π±So we try to start a new path, but just like starting a new habit, it can feel like the entire world is fighting against you. Don't give up when you feel like this, because this is part of the process. It may feel unnatural and fake, but don't listen to those demons in your head. Little by little, and the more you force yourself to use this new path, the easier it will get. πΏSoon, if you keep working through the branches and the sap that are holding you back and keep persevering through the bad habits, you will have formed a new path. A healthier habit. A wiser way to go about the journey. And when you look back on that old path that you used to go down so often, it will have become overgrown with the brush and the trees, and be much easier to avoid and much less tempting the next time you struggle with those issues. π»I've seen God work in my life at times of struggle before and in an attempt to be ready to hear what he's got for me next, I'll be taking a break from social media.
