False Remembrance
I often think a lot about the past: the home I grew up in, the city near my house. These have become places of the heart that I hold in such high esteem. The mind has a wonderful way of making the best memories of the past even better. To say the past is not good would be misleading, but to say the past is only good would be far more misleading. These photographs illustrate the realization that the past may, at times, be only a fraction of what you remembered it as. These images capture the beauty of Grand Rapids, what most visitors of the city will remember it by as they leave the area and continue on in their lives; however, they also capture the unappealing sights of the inner-city, which often times go unnoticed and forgotten.
