so i just finished R.A. Salvatore’s ‘Homeland’, the first novel in the Drizzt Do’Urden series, and my absolute favourite relationship is between Drizzt’s parents, Matron Malice and Zaknafein.  every time Malice thinks about Zaknafein, without fail, she will mention how absurdly sexy he is. She will describe at length how much she hates his guts but she just can’t stop fucking him after 400 years. And Zaknafein is like, ‘oh why was I born so sexy and good with swords, what choice is there for me other than to bang this hot Evil™ noblewoman and kill her enemies. oh, what else can i possibly do with my life?’  And then Drizzt is born and grows up to be sexy and good with sword and Malice is like ‘uh oh’. And Lolth is like, ‘this is getting out of hand. now there are two of them. Malice, you need to kill them before they start shit’ and Malice is like ‘but… Zaknafein sexy… and so good with sword’. And then Drizzt starts shit. And Lolth is like, ‘see? this is what i’m talking about. he ain’t even Evil™. you gotta kill him.’ And Malice is like, ‘nooo… my sexy sword men’. it’s just *chef’s kiss*. the Enemies AND Lovers trope I never knew I needed XD
