She said it felt like one of the longest trips we ever had but….. it is a million times worth of being here.

Her flight was super early at 2:55 am on Friday 2nd. It was not too busy at the airport that time, easy breezy to check in and go through the immigration process.

The flight was quiet, and because of the COVID 19 - all the middle seats were left empty on this flight (more space for me Yeahhhhh). The flight was smooth and took around 7 hours to arrive Phuket. (I was super excited to be back home again indeed)

Now here it comes the most tired and frustrated time of the journey- At the Phuket International Airport - It took almost 3 hours to finally be out from the airport.

First once we arrived we need to sit down in line and the staffs came to check and reorganize all the paper work.

Then I again after waiting for the long time (almost 2 hour) we need to hand our paper work to the staff to check all the paperwork again.

From there we though it was going to be easy as immigration and the luggage was done in a breeze…. But NO

We again had to queue for the PCR test while looking at the exit. We know we had all these checks to do, but still after a morning flight with not a lot of sleep we had enough.

We where lucky that our youngest travel partner was holding up like a champ. To be honest, he was the only entertainment we had at the spot (he was singing, jumping, smiling and super friendly to everyone. Imagine if he would have started to be fed up it would have been a lot worse

All in all I think it is teething problems with the sandbox as they are only open for two days now. All the paperwork checked out fine and everyone was clear on the process.

As a final thought I would say that if they want to scale up the arrivals than something needs to change. This time it took three hours to process one plane which was maybe at 50% capacity.

And now we are stuck in the room waiting for the result which we believe it will be bu tomorrow morning. So in the meantime, the Hungry Kate has pampered herself with in-room dinning Thai food - can’t wait to explore of local food tomorrow.

So holiday-starved Aussies could enjoy lavish trips to the Thai island by July 1 with no quarantine – but there’s a catch! Australians must apply for special exemptions to be allowed to leave the country!

Frustrated by the lack of strategy from the federal government about how and when border restrictions could be eased, the president of the Australian Medical Association, Dr Omar Khorshid weighs in.

He said it was possible to open borders IF Australia began to work on a strategy now based on independent medical advice that prioritised the safety of the community over any other factors.

Thailand gears up to reopen Phuket for Covid-19 vaccinated tourists from July 1

He has been been the most high profile celebrity to have the increasingly common plastic procedure for men- hair transplant.

A plastic dermatological surgeon moves hair – often from the back or side of the head – to the front. There are two methods HUT and FUG that use strip harvesting that remove a long strip from the back of the scalp.

Hair is either moved as a strip of skin is cut from the back of the head, and closed with stitches, or hair follicles are cut out and placed in individual holes on the part of the scalp getting the transplant.

Another method is called FUE using donor follicles one by one to transplant to the desired areas.

The state of Quintana Roo, where Cancun is located, plans to open to tourists between June 8 and 10.

Maybe taking inspiration from Sicily — the Italian island offered to pay half of tourists' flight costs and a third of their hotel costs if they visit later this year — the Hotel Associations of Cancun, Puerto Morelos & Isla Mujeres, the Riviera Maya, Cozumel, and the Grand Costa Maya are working together to launch a similar campaign.

The #VenAlCaribeMexicanoX2 or #Come2MexicanCaribbean campaign will be promoted across various destinations in the Mexican Caribbean, ranging from Cancun to Cozumel.

Per a press release from the Hotel Associations of Cancun, Puerto Morelos & Isla Mujeres, 200 businesses are already said to be involved in the campaign, which it says will launch June 15. Bookings receiving these discounts can be made through August 15, 2020.

Perks include two free nights for every two nights paid for by guests, two free days of car rentals for every two days paid for, free stays for up to two children when two adults book, as well as 20% off at participating theme parks, golf courses, and spas. However, offers can be determined by the businesses themselves, and may thus vary.

"Different hotel associations in our state, along with the tourist industry in general, are 100% committed participating in this campaign, and aim to reactivate travel to our destinations after the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic," Roberto Cintron, President of the Hotels Association of Cancun, Puerto Morelos & Isla Mujeres, said in a statement.

Mexico has seen 81,400 confirmed coronavirus cases, and 9,044 related deaths, according to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center.

Before the pandemic hit, Australia was the top source of foreign tourists into Bali in 2019, followed by China.

According to local media reports, Mexico is set to launch a two-for-one special designed to encourage international tourists to visit once the coronavirus pandemic is over.

Following in the footsteps of countries like Sicily, the holiday hotspot launched their own offers aimed at boosting tourism after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Cancun Hotel Association is behind the Come to Cancun 2×1 campaign, which is reportedly set to offer two free nights of accommodation for every two nights paid, as well as a refund of the plane ticket price so visitors can bring a friend.

According to the Cancun Hotel Association (AHCP), the objective is to accelerate the economic and tourist recovery on the beaches of the Mexican Caribbean.

#VenACANCUNX2 is a formal campaign promoted by the AHCP and we see it feasible that with the material that is ready we can launch a unique campaign coordinating the private initiative and the state and municipal governments, ”said Carlos Gosselin, member of the AHCP.

Through a statement, AHCP shared the strategy that includes offers such as:

✔︎Two free nights for every two paid nights

✔︎Refund of the plane ticket to travel with a companion

✔︎Social media contests to earn a lifetime travel certificate to Cancun

As part of the ‘Come to Cancun 2 × 1’ project, ‘pay 1 and get 2 packages’ will be promoted on many beaches of Puerto Morelos, Isla Mujeres and Cancun itself.

A competition on social media is also reportedly underway which will allow entrants the chance to earn a lifetime travel certificate.
