I miss you guys too 🌸🩷 I'm okay, tho, life has been keeping me super busy but I'm grateful that things have been pretty good lately 🌞 I hope everyone is doing okay !!
Hihihi! Loved seeing you post! I loved it so much! Are you doing well? How have you been? Sending love and flowers 💖🌹💐🌸🌻🌼💖
Hiii 🩷 it's been a while, I know but I really needed time to get my life on track. There's been so many changes but I think I'm slowly figuring things out 🦔
A/N: This is another part of the "You're their assistant series". It's independent of "You Work Late Together" because there Y/N doesn't have a boyfriend. Idk where this prompt took me, the boys' reactions and plots are so different. The next part will probably be the first date. Suggestions welcome. Also, I didn't proofread.
You broke up with your boyfriend a wile ago. It was your decision for the most part. Although he was very sweet in the beginning B/N stopped investing even the slightest effort into the relationship. You were together long enough for you to start seriously caring about him but not enough for you to dedicate your life to him and getting nothing in return. He didn't take your news lightly though; he wouldn't even have a proper conversation. You saw it then in the heat of the argument how little he cared about you. He started calling you again, however, when he realized how much better his life was with you around.
Jin
You had just attended a meeting with Mr Kim, taking notes and providing the details to some business discussions. You've been working for Mr Kim for a little over two months now and it was a welcome distraction from the turmoil of your personal life. Little did you know your personal life was waiting by your desk with a bouquet of pale yellow carnations.
"Get me the files on the Incheon business please, Ms Y/N, and then you can take your lunch break," said your boss as he disappeared into his office.
"Of course," you agreed. You tried to hide the nerves in your voice. Only when the door closed behind him did you dare make your way to your desk where B/N was waiting for you. He had a stupid grin on his face as if the flowers would fix the poor excuse for a relationship that you had.
"What are you doing here? I'm at work," you snapped as discretely as you could. The grin fell off B/N's face.
"You weren't replying to my texts so here I am," said B/N and offered you the inappropriate flowers. You didn't mind carnations but not like this and yellow was the wrong color.
"There is a reason why I didn't reply to your texts. We're over, I thought I made that clear - you made that clear," you pointed out as you got behind your desk and put away your things.
"Come on, let's have lunch together. I know you have your break now," said your ex, reminding you of the Incheon files that your boss asked for. You gasped and grabbed the files from your desk but it was too late. Mr Kim was already in front of your desk.
"Mr Kim, I'm so sorry, I was about to get these to you," you said quickly and handed him the brown file. His eyes were on B/N, however.
"Is your grandmother sick?" asked Mr Kim as his stern motionless gaze fell to the bouquet in your ex's hands. Your cheeks flushed red and you could feel the blood pulsate beneath your skin.
"What?" frowned B/N and tried to make himself taller but he was nowhere near Mr Kim. Even his posture made him intimidating.
"The carnations," said Mr Kim. You couldn't help but feel a hint of satisfaction when you realized you and your boss were of the same mind. You might have laughed if you weren't so embarrassed that your personal life was being hung on display at work.
"He is leaving, I'm so sorry, Mr Kim," you said before your ex could say something stupid. Mr Kim looked at you in your perfectly chosen outfit and not a hair out of place, and glanced again at your ex who didn't even reach your ankles much less your knees.
"I'm only leaving once you agree to get lunch with me," insisted B/N and made you flush in an even brighter shade of red. Your heart was beating wildly as you tried not to make a scene in front of your boss.
You were about to speak, taking your ex with you someplace more private but your boss beat you to it. "Ms Y/N already has plans for lunch and they do not involve you."
Your ex scoffed but he couldn't help but look at the two of you. You were staring at your boss in awe, your heart nearly escaping your chest as his silken voice echoed in your head.
"Is that how it is? You're sleeping with him?" snarled B/N out of nowhere and threw the carnations on the floor. You flinched at his tone, shocked at the pace at which things escalated.
"I'm not sleeping with anyone!" you defended yourself but simply saying those words out loud in front of your coworkers made you want to bury yourself from embarrassment. "I'm so sorry, Mr Kim-" you tried to apologize.
"That's alright, Ms Y/N. You're the one owed an apology," said your boss gently. His eyes were soft on you but you could tell that he was livid.
"Are you crazy? I'm not apologizing to this-" Your ex couldn't finish the sentence though. Mr Kim's knuckles filled his mouth and knocked him straight on the ground. You jumped with a gasp and tried to help B/N up but your boss stopped you.
"Don't," he said not unkindly. The look in his eyes was sympathetic and something else that you couldn't pinpoint.
Your ex was fine except for a bloody lip and a deeply wounded pride. He grabbed the weary carnations and threw you the dirtiest look he could manage. You knew that he wouldn't try and text you again - not for you, but for his pride.
You were holding your breath the entire time. You couldn't even look at your boss.
"I don't think I've ever felt this embarrassed in my life," you said half to yourself half to your boss. "It's no excuse but I don't even know how he got into the building-"
"It's not your fault, Ms Y/N, you have nothing to apologize for," said Mr Kim as politely as always. You couldn't believe it when your coworkers asked you if it was as terrifying working for Mr Kim as they imagined, how stern and cut-throat he was, especially when it came to business. Sure, you recognized that part of him in meetings but he was never anything other than kind and understanding to you.
"It's never going to happen again, I promise," you vowed as professionally as you could although the scene left your hands shaking and your cheeks flushed with fever.
"Stop," said Mr Kim gently when he saw how distressed you were. Even though it was just things like this that made you break up with B/N in the first place, you still cared about him at one point. It was a difficult process detaching yourself from those memories. Now you felt exposed at work as well where it was your safe haven.
"Lunch, I think," Mr Kim tried to brighten the mood.
"I think I lost all of my appetite," you confessed. It wouldn't be the first time you shared a meal with your boss. Some days it was hard to even make time for lunch or a simple break so you'd work over meals.
"Don't worry, Ms Y/N, lunch is just a code word for drinks. I think we both need one," smiled Mr Kim. You couldn't help but laugh a little and nod in agreement. You noticed your boss flex his fingers.
"Oh my god, your hand," you said quickly and inspected it yourself. The knuckles were bruised slightly but there was no blood or visible injury. Mr Kim's face drained off all expression as he watched you hold his hand gently in yours. You blushed as you realized how unprofessional you were.
"I'll ... I'll get my purse," you cleared your throat and let go of his hand. Your stomach filled with butterflies as your heartbeat quickened.
The following morning there was a bouquet of soft pink peonies on your desk and they weren't from your ex-boyfriend.
Namjoon
"Everything ready, Ms Y/N?" asked your boss as he held the door of the conference room for you.
"Yes, of course," you smiled and entered before him. Your perfume lingered behind you as Mr Kim followed you inside, doing everything in his power to keep his focus on the business.
You took a seat to the right of Mr Kim and opened your tablet and organized your hard copies. The meeting was the final stage of a minor merger that the company oversaw. Just as the final details were being discussed, Mr Kim's second assistant, who filled in during your absence or whenever there was much and more to keep a hold on like today, walked into conference room. You figured there must have been an important call for Mr Kim but instead of going to him, she came to you.
"I'm sorry, Ms Y/N, but there is a Mr B/N here to see you," she whispered in your ear but she might as well have poured a bucket of cold water down your head.
"What?" you blurted, your eyes as wide as plates. Mr Kim's gaze found yours and your face grew red. It was one thing for your private life to be a mess but you couldn't have it unfolded where you worked.
"He's very persistent, says it's an emergency," the second assistant whispered and then left. Your heart was pulsating heavily against your throat as you figured what to do. You didn't even dare meet Mr Kim's sharp eyes. You knew how much he wanted meetings to go smoothly and without distractions.
"Excuse me," you apologized and hurried outside as discretely as you could. The other businessmen and women didn't seem to mind but you could feel your boss's eyes burn through your back.
B/N waited by your desk. He was pacing around leisurely when you came up to him. You were almost the same height now with you in heels.
"Hey, baby," B/N grinned, his hands hanging in his pockets. You shook your head in utter disbelief, fuming with anger.
"What kind of emergency could possibly make you come to my office? When we were dating, you couldn't even remember where I worked," you gritted through your teeth, trying to keep your voice down.
"Emergency? Baby, I just wanted to see you. I want to talk to you - about us," said B/N with a smile and tried to caress your cheek. You stepped back. Weeks ago you would have begged him to say something like that - back when you still cared.
"Don't you ever call me baby again, do you hear me?" you pointed your finger at his chest. "Are you trying to ruin my career the way you ruined my personal life when you plied me with lies all the while you were thinking about your ex?"
"Sweetheart, I made a mistake-"
"Damn right you did," you nodded and crossed your arms over your chest. "But I won't be making it again. You should see yourself out and make sure never to bother me again, B/N."
You turned around and headed back to the meeting when you realized your boss was standing only a few feet behind you. You froze on the spot.
"Y/N, wait!" asked B/N and grabbed your elbow.
"Let go of me!" you demanded and pulled your arm away. Your ears were ringing.
"Y/N, come on, I made a mistake-" B/N insisted and tried to get a hold of you. Your boss pushed you behind him.
"You should do as she says," warned Mr Kim, a good head taller than B/N. Although you ex wasn't weak by any means, Kim Namjoon was an armor of a man and in that moment he was protecting you. The truth was he had been wondering what was going on with you a few weeks ago. Your work wasn't as flawless as usual and your mind seemed to be elsewhere. It all made sense now and the thought of someone not paying you the respect you deserve made his hand eager to punch through your ex's face or more.
"Fine," said B/N and backed away as if Mr Kim's touch were poison. "But this isn't over yet," he spat before he finally left.
When your boss turned around and faced you, you were at a loss for words. There was nothing you could think of that could salvage what had just happened.
"Mr Kim, I don't know what to say," you began, your hands shaking and your cheeks flushed. "I'm so sorry for interrupting the meeting. I thought I could contain the situation if I dealt with it immediately. It will never happen again, I promise. I know how you hate-"
"Are you alright?" your boss stopped you, his voice softer than usual. You hadn't noticed it but your eyes were full of tears. It was all too much too quickly - the break up, B/N coming to your office, you interrupting the meeting and jeopardizing the only stability you had in your life right now - your work.
"Please don't fire me. It will never happen again, you have my word," you asked quietly. If your voice were any louder, your tears would have fallen and your embarrassment would be complete.
Mr Kim stared at you, his usually sharp glare softening. "I'm not firing you, Ms Y/N. I just want to make sure you're alright." He gestured to his office and you joined him there, not entirely believing his words. He invited you to sit down and poured you a glass of whiskey.
"I don't think that's a good idea," you said quietly although it was tempting. Mr Kim set the glass down in front of you in case you changed your mind.
"You haven't answered my question," said Mr Kim and sat down in the armchair beside you. You looked at him. "Are you alright?" he repeated.
You nodded. "I am, I just ... I didn't expect this to happen, least of all at work. If I had known ... I'd never bring personal matters into this office," you tried to apologize again.
"I know," agreed Mr Kim, "You're very elegant and professional."
"I don't know about that," you referred to the first of the two adjectives. Your head was spinning and you had that sip of whiskey nevertheless.
"I do," said Mr Kim in all seriousness. It was like he was looking right through you. "I'd feel better if you had a security guard beside you," he suggested. You froze, not knowing where this came from.
"You don't mean ... because of B/N?" you frowned.
"He seems less than prepared to accept your rejection and you're an important asset to this company." You're important to me.
"No, nothing's going to happen," you insisted, the thought never even crossing your mind. B/N may have been short-tempered but he would never hurt you, you were sure of that. "He's just immature and desperate, that's all," you assured to your boss although you couldn't tame the butterflies in your tummy.
Mr Kim measured you. You could swear there was a glint of a smile in his eyes. "That I can understand," he said. His voice was low and raspy. "Any man would be desperate if he lost a woman like you."
Yoongi
It took weeks for your life to get back to normal, for you to stop thinking about your ex. Even though things were only growing worse in the end, the memories of the beginning lingered on even after the break up. You knew you did the right thing - it grew more and more obvious everyday as you acquired distance and saw things for what they were. Your ex was a pile of red flags but you cared too much about him then to realize it.
You felt good about yourself when you came into the office. That is, until you saw a supermarket bouquet of orange lilies on your desk, still wrapped in plastic and the price tag on them. You looked to the second assistant who smiled at you. Someone delivered them and you knew who but she didn't.
"Are they from your boyfriend?" asked the assistant just as Mr Min walked in.
"Good morning," he said and stopped in front of your desk. His dark eyes fell to the poorly arranged bouquet of flowers. Their strong fragrance was already dimming the floor. Although lilies were beautiful flowers, especially white and pink ones, you couldn't help but associate them with funerals, particularly their scent.
"No, they're not. I'm single," you assured confidently as you grabbed the bouquet. "Do you want them?" you offered the flowers to the second assistant. She seemed disappointed when she realized she wouldn't be able to get the scoop on your love life.
"No, I can't. I'm sorry, I'm allergic." Her face fell as you carried the flowers into the breakroom. You hid them into a corner on the counter where you wouldn't see them even if you came to refill your coffee. As much as you hated the bouquet and what it represented, you could never throw away perfectly healthy flowers.
"Everything alright?" Your boss's voice made you jump. You were so deep in thought that you didn't even notice his presence.
"Yes, everything's fine. I'm sorry," you said much more calmly. His eyes studied you.
"Do you need a day off?" he asked, not unkindly. You were surprised by his offer and even more so by his gentle mannerism.
"N-No, of course not," you tried to collect your thoughts. "Everything's fine. And besides, there the meeting about the Gangnam business."
You grabbed a coffee mug from the shelf but Mr Min beat you to the pot. He poured you some coffee and then himself although it was usually the other way around. He was standing close and his fragrance gave you goosebumps. You tried to take a step back but your body wouldn't budge. You enjoyed Min Yoongi's closeness much more than you allowed yourself to admit.
"Not a fan of lilies?" asked Mr Min.
"What?" you blurted. You glanced over your shoulder at the bouquet on the other side of the room. "Oh ... No, they're fine, it's just ..." You didn't want to go into detail about your past relationship. "They're funeral flowers," you managed although the truth was that any flowers if they came from B/N would have angered you.
"It's quite apt actually," you realized as you accepted the coffee from your boss's hand. Your relationship seemed bright and optimistic but all the while you could still smell the decay.
"i could just have him murdered," offered your boss. You woke from your thought with a small laugh, never realizing he was more serious than you could imagine.
"No, that's fine, thank you," you smiled with your spirits lifted. Mr Min smiled as well, a sight as rare as a blue moon. Your heart skipped a beat and the butterflies in your stomach went crazy. The hatred for B/N and the way he treated you made it all the easier for you to feel something for someone else.
Your eyes locked and you were the first to look away. You could feel the blood rushing to your cheeks as you cleared your throat. "So, the Gangnam meeting at 10," you tried to change the conversation but your boss's eyes were not letting you go.
"Mm," he agreed absent-mindedly as his gaze shifted to the loose strand of your hair. He picked it between his long fingers and tucked it behind your ear. You held your breath, your eyes wide.
"Any plans for dinner?" asked Mr Min. You almost dropped your coffee when you pulled out your phone to check his schedule.
"I believe you're free today. Do you want me to make a reservation?" you offered nearly saying something stupid; it almost sounded as if he were asking about your plans.
"I'll take care of it. What I meant is if are you free tonight, Y/N?" asked your boss, knocking the breath from your chest. You stared at him and tried to comprehend what he said.
"I'm free," you said more confidently than you felt. You could feel your heart in your throat.
"Good," he agreed and took another long look at you, "It's not about work," he said more quietly as he bent his neck to come closer to your height.
"I know," you nodded, staring up at him.
Hoseok
"I'm not interested," you told your ex when he ambushed you with excuses in front of your office building. You just returned from your lunch break when you saw B/N outside Mr Jung's company. They wouldn't let him inside without an employee's pass or special invitation so your ex waited for you right in front of the entrance.
"Y/N, I had time to think, I'm ready now, I promise. I made a mistake," repeated B/N and tried to take your hand but you took a step back. There was a time when you'd do anything to hear him say those words but after the way he handled your break up, you never wanted to hear from him again, much less see him.
"I am not interested," you spoke each word individually. You pushed past him but he caught your elbow.
"Let go of me!" you demanded with a look so cold in your eyes it would make hell freeze over. B/N didn't let go, however.
"Y/N, you have to give me another chance-"
"Go back to your ex and ask her to give you another chance," you snarled through your teeth and yanked your arm from his grip. All the while you were together he was still thinking about her even though he promised everything to you at the same time.
You turned around and made for the door. You could see B/N trying to take your arm again in the glass reflection but someone stopped him. You turned around and saw Mr Jung's hand gripping tightly onto your ex's shoulder.
"I wouldn't try that if I were you," smiled Mr Jung. You froze in place, eyes wide as you watched B/N's gaze shift between you and your boss and back at you.
"Is that how it is? That's why you won't return my calls, you-"
"I strongly advise you not to finish that sentence," warned Mr Jung, his face draining of all emotion. His eyebrows furrowed into a deep frown and his jaw clenched. The grip he had on your ex's shoulder would leave a bruise.
"Mr Jung, please, it's not worth it," you asked and checked your wristwatch. "We should go, the guys will be here any moment now about the merger," you tried although Mr Jung's business partners won't be here for another half an hour.
Your boss's dark glare shifted from your ex to you where it softened slightly. You realized he wasn't just your boss in that moment but someone you could rely on - someone he wanted you to rely on.
"Let go of me," spat B/N and shook off your boss's hand. Mr Jung turned to him but your ex only threw you a nasty look before he fixed his jacket and left.
"You shouldn't have," you said to Mr Jung once you were in the elevator. He looked at you and you had no choice but to do the same. "I can handle B/N," you assured, "But thank you."
You were sincere although you wished your boss didn't see that part of your personal life. You enjoyed working for him more than you cared to admit and you wouldn't do anything to jeopardize this job.
"You deserve someone better, Y/N," said Mr Jung, calling you only by your name for the first time since you started working together. Your gaze returned to him but he was staring at the elevator door. It was a long way up and you hoped the door would never open.
"Like who?" you asked before you could stop your tongue. Your boss froze for a moment. Blush crept to you cheeks when he looked at you. His dark eyes pierced right through yours as if they could see inside of your mind. Your lips parted when he turned to you and his hand reached for your cheek. He leaned down closer as his thumb smoothed your soft skin.
"You already know the answer to that, Ms Y/N," said Mr Jung just before the elevator bell sounded. Your boss stepped back and waited for you to exit first but you couldn't move. Your eyes were locked with his and you had forgotten how to breathe.
"Alright," you nodded, your turn to knock the breath from his chest. You tried to leave the elevator but your boss pulled you back. The door closed again as Hoseok pulled your face to him and kissed you. His hands cupped your cheeks as his perfume filled your nose. Shivers ran down your spine. You gave into the kiss and wrapped your arms around your boss's neck.
"I'll treat you like a goddess," said Hoseok against your lips.
"I know," you nodded and found his lips again.
Jimin
You were going through the schedule of the day with your boss when your phone started buzzing. You checked the screen and turned off the call. Mr Park's eyes followed your actions and before long the phone started buzzing again.
"You can answer it," he allowed but you weren't interested.
"That's alright," you tried to disguise your discomfort behind a small smile. "So, you have an 11.30 with your business partners, a lunch with Mr Shin and Mrs Oh cancelled the three o'clock meeting - rescheduled for next Tuesday."
Your phone started buzzing again. Your turned it on silent.
"You should answer. Maybe it's an emergency," suggested Mr Park and put down the papers.
"It's not," you assured and gathered the documents. Your ex had been trying to contact you all weekend and you did the fateful mistake of answering once. He was full of regret of how your relationship ended and begged for a second chance.
"Everything alright, Ms Y/N?" asked your boss when he saw the frown on your face. You looked at him, not even realizing how deep in thought you were. His usually sharp eyes softened to see the concern on your face. Your heart skipped a beat even at just the thought of him caring.
"I'm sorry, yes, everything's alright," you offered a reassuring smile but he was far from convinced.
The following morning you came to find a bouquet of yellow roses on your desk that stopped you on your tracks. Infidelity.
"Sounds about right," you thought out loud and grabbed the flowers so harshly you nearly broke the stems. You threw them out in the breakroom. If you had done it in your desk bin, they would have lingered there and reminded you of his betrayal for the rest of the day.
You jumped with a gasp when you turned around, coming face to face with your boss. He must have come in early - if he even left in the first place.
"What are you doing here?" you blurted as your cheeks grew hot. You never liked displaying your emotions for everyone to see, least of all at work.
"I own the place," said Park Jimin and had a sip of his coffee. His eyes shifted between you and the yellow flowers hanging from the trash.
"No, yes, I know. I'm sorry, I didn't mean it that way," you apologized quickly and fixed your skirt. "I just didn't expect you this early. Should we go through your schedule for the day?"
You knew that was a no - both to the schedule and your attempt to change the topic of conversation. Goosebumps rose on your arms as Mr Park walked up to you. Seeing him up close you knew he didn't leave the office. Even though his eyes were tired there was a storm of thoughts behind them.
"You don't like the flowers?" he asked, his focused gaze shifting between your eyes. Your mouth parted.
"I-I ... They weren't from you, were they?" you asked astounded as you glanced nervously at the yellow roses and your face burned so hot you wondered when the steam was going to rise from your skin.
"No," smiled Mr Park and showed all of his perfect teeth. The butterflies jumped in your stomach but a part of you wished the flowers did come from him. There was an attraction between you and your boss but you dared not act on it.
"You'll know when they're from me, Ms Y/N," said Park Jimin as he looked down at you with a soft smile. His words made it impossible for you to reply.
"G-Good," you stuttered and crossed your arms over your chest as you cleared your throat. Your heart was hammering against your chest.
"Your boyfriend sent them?" persisted your boss. Your face fell at the thought of B/N and the anxiety returned to your chest. Mr Park's smile disappeared at the sight of your discomfort.
"It's none of my business," apologized Mr Park.
"They're from an overly persistent ex-boyfriend," you confessed and pressed a cold hand against your hot neck. "It won't interfere with work," you promised.
Your boss stared at you pensively. "I know," he nodded but the discomfort on your beautiful features only grew deeper.
"B/N something, isn't it?" asked Mr Park when he paused outside his office, his hand on the door. You looked up from your desk.
"Yes," you nodded, "Why?" But your boss didn't say anything else. He closed the door of his office. Your ex kept trying to call you all morning, probably trying to make sure you got his flowers. Mr Park asked you to reschedule his lunch with Mr Shin. It was around the same time you stopped receiving calls from your ex.
When you got home that evening, there was a stunning bouquet of flowers waiting on your doorstep. Soft pink roses and white peonies. There was no card but you knew who sent them.
Taehyung
Just as things began falling into place again and you managed to move on from your past relationship, you woke up to a chain of texts from your ex, begging for the two of you to meet. You had no intention of replying but you didn't have to. Come your lunch break, B/N was waiting in front of your office building. He was holding a supermarket bouquet of lilac and yellow chrysanthemums that you just knew he picked up on the way here. Still, the shock of seeing him for the first time since the break up overpowered your anger and annoyance about the way he treated you.
You could only look at him for a moment before you turned around and walked right back into the building. You were so distracted by B/N calling your name behind you that you didn't see where you were going. Just as you reached the lobby you crashed against none other than your boss, Mr Kim. You stumbled back but he took your arms and steadied you. Even if you hadn't looked him in the eye, you would have known it was him. You could recognize his perfume in a crowd of men.
"What's wrong?" asked Mr Kim when he saw the look on your face. Although you loved your job and working with Mr Kim you didn't want him or anyone else at work to know the details of your personal life, especially not your failed love life.
"Nothing," you said instinctively and stepped back. Your arms felt cold where Mr Kim's hands were.
"Y/N!" called your ex again when he managed to push through the crowd of lunch-going employees.
You glanced over your shoulder at B/N, hoping the earth would open up and swallow you. Your cheeks flushed red as your heartbeat raced.
"Excuse me," you said to your boss and stepped aside with B/N.
"You can't be here," you said as you felt Mr Kim's dark gaze burn through your back. "I don't want to talk to you - ever. We're done."
"Y/N, don't be like that. Look, I made a mistake, but I got you flowers. I know how much you love them," said B/N and smiled so genuinely you realized he actually believed this was going to erase the fact that he treated you like trash.
"I hate chrysanthemums. They're funeral flowers," you said without emotion and made to leave. B/N tried to take your elbow but your boss caught it before he could touch you. You spun around, now standing behind Mr Kim.
"I wonder who do you think you are," said Mr Kim as smoothly as if he were reciting poetry. The lobby grew quiet as the church. The veins in your boss's palm protruded from how hard he was holding your ex's wrist.
"Who the fuck are you?" spat B/N and tried to yank his hand free. He only managed when Mr Kim released him.
"I'm Kim Taehyung," your boss smiled with his eyes. Shivers ran down your spine as you watched the scene unfold as if you were in a movie. Something in your ex's gaze shifted but you couldn't tell why. You must have mentioned your boss a thousand times to him when the two of you were still dating. Not that he ever listened a word.
"Please," you said quietly as you came up to your boss. "It's okay." His dark eyes turned to you without a blink. You could see him studying you as if your words equated an unsolvable mathematical problem.
"I'm sorry about this, Mr Kim," you apologized before you turned around to face your ex. "He's leaving," you gritted through your teeth. B/N's eyes flickered between you and your boss as a heavy frown darkened his face.
"Fuck you," he spat bitterly. B/N turned on his heel and marched for the door where he slammed the bouquet into the bin.
Slowly people began to move once again and left on their way. Your cheeks were pulsating with fever. When you saw the dark look on your boss's face, you thought you were going to be sick. Your hands were clammy as you prepared yourself to get fired.
"I'm so sorry-"
"What are you talking about, Ms Y/N?" Mr Kim cut you off as his eyes returned to you. His frown softened although not much.
"I had no idea he would come here ... I was going to get lunch and he was waiting outside ..." you tried to explain yourself but you were at a loss for words.
"Has this happened before?" your boss frowned again, this time his voice was harsher than its usual silken tone.
"N-No, of course not," you struggled to gather your thoughts. "I haven't seen him in weeks."
Your words seemed to calm him down some, however, the strange this was that he seemed worried about you and not the scene your ex caused.
"Good," he said but you could see it in his restless eyes the case was not settled yet. You wanted to know what he was thinking.
"What are you thinking about?" you blurted out loud. The storm of emotions passed through Kim Taehyung's dark gaze as he stared down into your eyes. Soft amusement played in his irises and blush crept to your cheeks.
"I want to invite you out to dinner, Ms Y/N," he said quietly as a small smile crept into the corners of his lips.
You stared at him, your heart pounding against your throat. "What?"
"How do you feel about tomorrow night?" he pursued, making sure you knew he meant it. Although it was a question, it sounded as confident as a statement.
That was not what he was thinking about before but his invitation made you forget all about it. Taehyung was thinking about what he is going to do to your ex if he comes near you again.
The way your boss was looking at you, however, made your knees weak. You could feel the attraction since the day you started working for him but you never acted on it. First you were in a relationship and then you were trying to patch up the ruins that the break up left.
"I'd like that," you found yourself saying. You couldn't hold back the smile that spread across your lips.
Jungkook
Your phone had not stopped buzzing with text and phone calls from your ex since Sunday night. Although it was his idea for the two of you to cut all ties, he was now desperate to talk to you. Monday passed and then Tuesday came. When you arrived at work there was a box of chocolates on your desk and a bouquet of supermarket flowers. The delivery alone must have cost more than the two combined. Besides, you didn't even like the chocolates he got you and the flowers were far from your favorite.
"Oooh, who are those from?" smiled your coworker. She arrived right after you before you could dispose of the evidence that you were ever in a relationship with that man.
"No one," you said bitterly as you grabbed the flowers and the chocolates. You gave the candy to your coworker and took the flowers to the breakroom where you wouldn't be able to see them until they happily died.
The texts and the phone calls really started pouring in after the delivery but you weren't answering. You were more done with him than ever before. The gifts just reminded you of how you were always there for him but he never bothered making an effort for you.
"We should have a strategy ready as soon as possible for the Ulsan business," you said after going to through the plan for the day with your boss. You could never have imagined it when you started working for Mr Jeon that going though his schedule and having coffee together in his office every morning would become a habit. He seemed intimidating at first but once you learned the ropes working with him was effortless. Besides, you enjoyed the stability of a work routine.
Mr Jeon was staring through the window as he contemplated what you said and he knew you were right. He wanted the Ulsan business but he couldn't show up empty-handed to the meeting.
"How do you feel about working over lunch, Ms Y/N?" asked your boss. You knew he wouldn't take it personally if you said no but you didn't mind.
"We are still eating though, right?" you asked as you got up and grabbed your tablet. Mr Jeon turned to you, a smile in the corner of his lips.
"Of course," he agreed and allowed you to choose the restaurant.
The was a place you often went to during lunch break only half a block away. It was sunny so you walked there, discussing the ways to lock the Ulsan business. You were checking something on your tablet when you nearly crashed into a group of friends if your boss hadn't taken your hand and pulled you out of the way. You looked up immediately when your shoulder brushed against his chest instead.
"Oh ... Thank you," you breathed. Your cheeks grew red as you realized what happened.
"Leave the business for now," said Mr Jeon and took the tablet from your hands just as you arrived to the restaurant. He opened the door for you and the table was already waiting for you. It wasn't the first time you worked together over lunch and sometimes you even preferred it. The girls at work were often busy and you didn't like eating alone.
"You're right. I think that's the strategy we should go with. It makes perfect sense from the financial aspect as well," you agreed as you and your boss headed back to the office.
Your heart dropped, however, when you saw B/N in front of the big glass entrance. You spotted him from far away and the sight of him stopped you on your tracks.
"Oh, god," you whispered under your breath. You stepped behind the nearest lamppost and turned your back to your ex. He would never recognize you from this distance. Your mind was racing and your heart. Your boss stopped as well and watched your unusual behavior.
"What are you doing?" asked Mr Jeon as he stepped in front of you.
You studied his frown, not remotely ready to share the details of your failed love life with your boss. "Nothing," you lied and ran a hand through your hair. "I'll ... I'll come right up."
"Why not now?" asked your boss. Your arms were crossed over your chest and you tried to keep yourself from doing it but you still glanced over your shoulder and checked if B/N was still there. Mr Jeon's eyes followed your gaze but there was two dozen people in front of the office having coffee and a cigarette.
"Who is it?" he asked, bringing your gaze immediately to him.
"What?" you said timidly.
"Y/N," warned your boss. His body was almost as tense as yours when you closed your eyes for a second and tried to think.
"It's nothing, I can handle it," you tried to reassure Mr Jeon but even you weren't sure if B/N was going to try something. The amount of times he tried to call you was unseemly.
Your boss looked behind you again and studied the crowd. He knew some of the people; they worked at the company. There was only one guy who stood out though.
"The guy in the band t-shirt," said your boss quietly. Your eyes snapped to him so quickly you didn't even have to say a word to confirm it.
"How did you know?" you asked shocked.
Mr Jeon measured your beautiful face. "It's my job." He paused. "Some guy you rejected?"
You swallowed uncomfortably. "I ... We dated actually," you confessed in spite of yourself. It was your boss's turn to look at you in disbelief. It was the most emotion you had ever seen him display but somehow it made the words pour out of you.
"We broke up weeks ago but he's been calling me for days and today there were flowers and chocolate waiting on my desk and he must have left another dozen calls since then and I'm so sorry this is happening right now, I had no idea he would show up like this-"
"Y/N," your boss said your name twice or thrice before you heard him. His hands cupped your cheeks and made you pause and regain your breath.
"I think I'm scared," you whispered the thought that's been on your mind since Sunday. It wasn't normal for anyone to try and contact a person this many times, much less show up at their workplace uninvited. You'd heard stories of crazy ex-boyfriends before but you never thought it would happen to you. You thought you knew him.
Jungkook's face drained of color and his eyebrows fell. His shoulders tensed like a bow. He caressed your cheek with one of his thumbs before he took back his hands and stormed towards B/N. Your mouth dropped and there was no going back. You ran after your boss but it all happened in the blink of an eye.
"Y/N!" called your ex, only seeing you and not the raging bull of a man that was headed in his direction. Before B/N realized it, Jungkook's fist punched through his jaw.
"Oh my god," you breathed, frozen in place. It was as if you had left your body and watched the scene from somewhere else.
Jungkook picked up B/N by the collar of his t-shirt and slammed him against the nearest tree. Your ex fought back but he was no match for someone like your boss. Jungkook had him pinned down.
"What the fuck do you want?" snarled B/N. You must have talked to him about your boss a thousand times but they never met.
"Funny you should ask," your boss smiled before his face changed into a frown so solemn it gave you goosebumps. "Think about calling Ms Y/N again and I'll leave you no fingers to dial the number with," warned Jungkook quietly against B/N's face yet his tone made your insides churn.
"Is she with you now?" frowned B/N, his gaze shifting between you and your boss. You held your breath.
"She's with whomever she wants," said Jungkook, "But if I ever see you near her again, you're going to wish you'd never met her."

MASTERLIST
You've worked for the company for about a month now. You thought it would be hard getting used to the job but a week in and you realized it wasn't so bad. Once you learned where everything was and how to manage your boss's schedule it was like riding a bike. Besides, the pay was more than generous, which is why you bought yourself a very special black dress that you had had your eye on for some time now but couldn't really afford. You took the opportunity when your friend invited you and the rest of the girls out to a birthday dinner to wear it. You were already in front of your building when you received a phone call from the company.
"Come on, not today," you sighed to yourself but answered anyways. There was an emergency at the company and there was no one who knew the job better than you by now.
Jin
As if the traffic weren't a s sufficient enough of a disaster, your heels made it impossible for you to hurry. You finally reached your desk when you heard voices coming from your boss's office. The door was left open. You came closer and waited.
"Fix this," said your boss in a voice you had rarely heard from him before; it was dark and raspy as if there was a razor in his throat. "Or losing your job will be the least of your concerns come morning."
You stared at the two people who you'd only seen coming in and out of Mr Kim's office but had never directly spoken to. One was the head of IT and the other worked in the legal department. Your boss towered over the first as he spoke the words that made your stomach churn. Mr Kim was always calm and composed no matter what the emergency or issue. You had never met anyone who was more polite or soft-spoken than him and yet for a moment you wondered whether he was only like that to you.
"Out," he almost growled as he glared at the legal expert as well. The two employees bowed their heads and scrammed past you. One was fuming and the other threw you a sympathetic look.
Jin's eyes snapped to you like the lash of a whip. Your mouth dropped as you tried to find something to say but your thoughts were nothing but an empty mess. For a moment, you considered that he will do the same to you as he did to the IT guy and the legal professional. His frown fell, however, realizing it's you and his lips parted at the sight of you outfit. Just as you had never seen him in anything other than a suit, he had never seen you in an evening dress. Your boss, in turn, wore a pair of tailored linen trousers and a loose shirt that looked just as good on him as any suit.
"You, um... You called for me?" you said after a moment. Your heart was beating madly as you waited for him to fire you or worse - grill you for your mistakes and incompetence and then fire you.
"I'm glad you could make it, Ms Y/N," said your boss instead, his voice shifting towards its usual self. His shoulders lost some of the tension as did his frown. Jin gestured at the seats in front of his desk.
"I'm afraid your boyfriend will have to do without you tonight," he said as you both took a seat, a hint of annoyance in his voice. "I'm in desperate need for someone with a sharp brain and the rest of my employees clearly have none."
"Boyfriend?" you asked confused, your eyebrows raised. Heat rushed to your cheeks although you couldn't tell whether it was from the idea that you weren't single or whether because one of the smartest men you had ever met just praised your cleverness.
Your boss glanced at your stunning dress and you blushed even deeper. Apparently, you looked dressed for a date.
"I was just meeting my friends," you explained and fixed the top of your sleeve. Your boss's gaze burned through your eyes as something shifted in his handsome features. The cut of his silken shirt revealed the outline of his chest that made your breath hitch in your throat. Since the day you started work in this company, you have been doing everything in your power not to think about your boss, but in moments like this you couldn't help but feel your stomach flutter beneath his gaze.
"So, what happened?" you cleared your throat and changed the subject. A dark shadow returned to your boss's face but now you knew it wasn't directed at you. There was a problem with a merger of one of the office's most important sub-companies. There was a breach of classified financial information enabled by a series of mistakes by the IT security department. Some documents needed to be refiled, meetings scheduled and the damage assessed with contingency plans drafted.
"Right," you sighed and got up, smoothing down your dress. You finally realized why your boss was so livid at his team. "I'll get started right away." You made for your desk when Jin called you back.
"Use my computer," he ordered and got up from his leather office chair. "I'll be faster if we work together." He opened a drawer and pulled out his laptop.
You hesitated for a moment before you sat down in your boss's chair, feeling completely out of place. He took a seat on the sofa and began typing away. You battled the tasks together one by one and the hours passed faster than you thought. After 2 a.m not even the coffee helped anymore. Your neck gave a quiet crack when you stretched your arms above your head before you leaned back in the massive chair.
Your boss was looking at you when you opened your eyes.
"Sorry," you said quickly, for a moment forgetting you were technically at work although it was closer to the morning than it was to the evening.
"I should be the one apologizing to you, Ms Y/N," said Jin and closed his laptop. He poured two glasses of whiskey from the ornate crystal bottle that always stood on the end table. He offered you one of them.
At first you hesitated but the world did seem to pause at this hour and allow for your worth ethic to go out the window for a moment. You got up and came around the desk. "Thank you."
"To containing this emergency," you said and clinked your glass against your boss's.
"To..." he paused and measured your eyes, "More nights spent together."
You smiled as your heart jumped. "With all due respect, if they're like tonight, I truly hope not," you laughed but still took a small sip of your drink. The whiskey was smooth with no bite at all.
"No," he agreed, a beautiful smile crowning his lips that made butterflies flutter around your stomach. "A dinner perhaps," he suggested, his voice as gentle as silk. "To make up for a Saturday night spent at the office."
You watched Jin, taken back by his proposal. A part of you wanted to say yes immediately and yet a whole other was being rational and cautious.
You shook your head a little, "I don't think that's a very good idea."
Jin's smile disappeared but his eyes remained soft and watchful. You allowed him to see how much you wanted to say yes but you couldn't. He was your boss and it would complicate everything. Although the contract you signed didn't prohibit coworker relationships, you knew how complicated things could get. Besides, Jin was a powerful man. If he wanted to, he could make sure you never get a job anywhere else and that part of him scared you.
Jin studied you. "I can put it into the contract."
"Sorry?" you stared at him.
"That I can't hurt you," he explained and took a sip of whiskey, "As you employer. I figured it might be a concern for you."
You tried to read him. "So you've done this before?" Your stomach dropped and you slapped yourself mentally when you realized you were probably just another girl and he already had a plan for these kinds of situations.
"No," he stated clearly, drawing your eyes back to him. "But I've been thinking about you." His soft and deep voice gave you goosebumps as your mind became a mess you couldn't detangle. "As I'm sure you know."
"I..." you cleared your throat as the gap between you and your boss seemed to grow smaller. Thinking about you branded into you mind and you couldn't believe your ears.
"I wouldn't presume..."
"You should," assured Jin with such confidence that it made your eyes lock with his. A breath hitched in your throat as you stared up at him, finally seeing the look in his eyes for what it was; and it was one he always reserved just for you.
Namjoon
You were fidgeting when your taxi took you to the office. A large black car was already parked in front of the main door. The driver got out and opened the back door. Your boss got out of the car and buttoned his suit jacket, a look so somber on his face that you didn't want to leave your taxi.
His eyes narrowed at you when he noticed your presence. You took a deep breath and reached for the handle but Mr Kim had already opened the door for you.
"Thank you," you breathed as you got out and smoothed down your dress. Your heart was beating harshly against your throat as you waited for him to give you the news that you were the one causing the emergency by misplacing some documents or something.
"Thank you for coming," he said instead. His tense posture relaxed some as you walked into the building together.
"I see I've interrupted your plans," said your boss in the elevator. Its back wall was a mirror where your reflection reminded you of the dinner you were supposed to attend.
You ran a hand through your hair. "It's okay," you said although you couldn't hide the weight in your voice. The older you got the more difficult it was for your friends to find the time to meet up.
"I mean, it's not okay, but... it's my job," you explained and clutched to your evening handbag. You could feel his eyes on you and you met them. He didn't look away and neither could you. Your stomach fluttered and your knees went weak.
"Anyways, what happened?" you asked as the elevator finally opened and you headed for your boss's office. If it were your fault, you were sure Mr Kim wouldn't have bothered even letting you come into the building with him.
Your boss was about to explain when you reached the conference room next to his office. There was Lee from the legal department and two of his colleagues and Choi from the PR branch. You looked at your boss, whose pace slowed down. A shadow was cast over his handsome features. His eyebrows furrowed into a dark frown and his tongue was in the corner of his cheek - a habit you've learned to recognize whenever your boss was angry or frustrated.
A silence feel among the employees no matter how high their positions when Mr Kim walked into the office. Soon they became a scrambling mess of mumbling excuses and tried to blame one another for the PR crisis that involved a breach of information caused by the legal team.
You couldn't do much but wait for the meeting to be over as you took in every bit of information. You didn't even want to think about what it would be like if your boss were staring you down and grilling you like he did your now former colleagues.
"Get out," said Namjoon coldly. His voice was quiet but so authoritative that it sent shivers down your spine as you watched the guys grow silent.
"If you don't fix this," warned Namjoon as he got up from his chair and buttoned his suit jacket. He didn't say a word more, only glared at Lee until he had no choice but to look down although you knew him to be one of the most arrogant people in the company.
"Out," said Namjoon when the group didn't dare move. They scrambled out in a hurry.
Your boss's cold gaze slowly turned to you. He only watched you for a few moments although it seemed like hours before his tense body relaxed with an exhale.
"Come on, we've got work to do, Ms Y/N," he spoke at last, resigned to the mess that was made.
You followed him into his office where the long and tedious task of mending the damage extended far into the late night. You had to come up with a strategy to help contain the information, select a team to oversee the projects in place, build a plan to deal with the press... There was no end to the work.
By 4 a.m, you were curled up in one of the armchairs in front of your boss's desk, your bare feet resting in the pair seat. Namjoon had his sleeves rolled to his elbows and his hair was messy from running his hand through it so many times. You were leaning your head against your palm, your eyes threatening to close over and over again as you reread the statement for the press and made some final corrections. Only when you reached for your coffee cup you noticed that your boss was watching you. His razor-sharp eyes had softened; you couldn't tell whether it was from the lack of sleep or if it was something else.
"Maybe we should call it a night," you suggested quietly. You didn't have an ounce of energy left and it showed even in your voice.
Namjoon nodded. "I'll give you a ride home."
"It's okay," you said as you hid a yawn behind your hand in search of your black heels, "I'll just call a taxi or something."
You put on your shoes when your boss handed you your handbag.
"No," he decided and there was no room for arguing.
Namjoon had his own driver. Sometimes that was your friend Lucas, but most of the time it was a man you had simply come to know as Yun. At first, you thought it was strange that your boss didn't drive himself but you wouldn't dare ask why.
You sat in the back seat with your boss. Although you had just spent the night in close proximity of one another, the car ride seemed more intimate than that.
"So," said Namjoon, his voice deep and quiet with tiredness, as he found your eyes, "Who did I steal you away from tonight?"
The idea that his tone suggested sent a blush to your cheeks. You smiled and shook your head. "No one," you said, "I was supposed to meet my friends for a birthday dinner thing."
Namjoon stared at you, his eyes suddenly awake with thousands of thoughts. "It's your birthday?"
"No," you smiled reassuringly when you saw a shadow of guilt cross his face. "My friend's."
He nodded slightly. You leaned back in your seat as the driver took you to the other side of the city. It was fast when you took the subway but it took longer by car, especially with all the construction and the road blockages.
You were only going to rest your eyes for a moment but quickly lost the battle. You couldn't see it but Namjoon had his gaze on you the entire time as you slept. When the car stopped in front of your apartment building, your boss gently caressed your cheek. You frowned and opened your eyes. The fragrance from Namjoon's wrist gave you goosebumps.
"Sorry," you said and sat up whilst the driver went to get your door.
"It's okay," said your boss, almost whispering. There was a warmth in his eyes that he had never shown to anyone else but you.
Yoongi
There was no way you would make it to the office in less than an hour if you took a taxi. The city was a complete mess as everyone migrated towards the center for shows, concerts and dinners on a Saturday night. You only took a taxi to the nearest subway station before you hurried downstairs and caught the first train that would take you right to the company's door. Still, the subway was packed as well. You had to stand, which you didn't mind, but you did mind when a man decided to stand right behind you. At first you thought it was a coincidence. He seemed like an ordinary guy; he wore a nice polo shirt and a pair of jeans. But soon, you could feel his breath on your neck as he came closer and closer, pressing himself to you. You slipped away from him and made your way closer to the exit, losing him in the crowd.
You got off at your station and tried not to think about the guy. Somehow you could still feel his gaze on you. He followed you to the street where you finally noticed him. You hurried towards the office and managed to get inside before he could follow you into the building. He remained standing outside. There was a smile on his lips that gave you the chills.
You quickly hurried for the elevator, your stomach in knots and your mind a mess. You went to your desk and put away your handbag.
"Good, you're here," said your boss but you didn't hear him over the noise in your mind.
A loud gasp escaped your lungs when you finally noticed Yoonigi beside you. Your body only relaxed when you saw it was just your boss.
A dark frown fell onto his eyes. "What's wrong?" asked Yoongi. You looked as pale as a ghost.
"Nothing, sorry," you shook your head, "My thoughts were somewhere else."
Yoongi studied you, his lips parted and his eyebrows in a permanent frown. You licked your dry lips and forced your heartbeat to calm down.
"What happened?" you cleared your throat, eager to distract yourself.
You could tell by the look on your boss's face that he wasn't content with your silence, but he let it go, especially when he noticed your stunning outfit. His gaze grazed down all the way to your black heels before it returned to your face.
"I, um... I didn't have the time to change," you apologized and crossed your arms over your chest. Yoongi nodded as he cleared his throat, gesturing you to his office.
Apparently, there was a cyberattack on the company and important information was leaked. Whilst the IT team was already hard at work, there still needed to be people notified, contingency plans to be made if the information reached the media, documents to go over and just about a dozen other things.
Instead of working separately, you both worked together in your boss's office. It was no use going back and forth every five minutes to discuss something. You picked a spot on the sofa and began tackling mountains of documents, which needed to be revised. Before you set for the office, you even had a bit hope that you would catch the dessert part of your friend's dinner but it wasn't happening. Hours went by before you even made it through half of the workload. By 3 a.m you were leaning your head against your arm, your legs curled up on the sofa as you read through the final stack.
Some documents slipped from your hands and made your boss to look up. You fell asleep. He made his way over to you and picked up the papers. He placed them on the coffee table but his attention was on you. Yoongi gently caressed your cheek and brushed your hair behind your ear.
"Y/N, wake up," he spoke softly, his thumb stroking your cheek, "I'll take you home."
"Hm?" you asked, leaning into the warm palm. Realization hit you and your eyes blinked open. You sat up quickly, doing your best to hold back a gasp.
"I'm sorry," you shook your head quickly, not even remembering when you fell asleep.
"It's okay," said Yoongi gently. His voice was raspy from tiredness but there was a softness in his eyes that made your stomach full of butterflies.
You went to grab your handbag before you headed downstairs together.
"It's going to be okay," you said as the elevator slowly took you to the ground floor. Yoongi found your eyes. His gaze shifted as he took in every last detail of your face.
"I know," he said quietly but he was grateful. You nodded and gave a small smile. Although you struggled to deny it, you couldn't help but let your heart flutter whenever you heard Yoongi's voice. There was something about how he was always so calm and in control that attracted you so much to him.
The elevator door opened with a chime and you headed out. You stopped on your tracks out of the sudden, your legs as heavy as lead.
"Oh my god, he's still here," you gasped and grabbed your boss's hand. Yoongi's features flashed with surprise as he frowned and looked down at your hand holding his. You pulled him to the side, hiding behind a solid wall among countless of glass ones.
You shut your eyes tightly for a moment as your stomach dropped and you thought you were going to be sick. Your skin was crawling with fever.
"What's going on?" demanded Yoongi. You looked down at your fingers balled around his hand.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry," you said quickly and released him. Your face grew burning hot as you peeked from behind the wall. The young man who harassed you on the subway was sitting on one of the benches just outside the office, showing his back to the entrance.
"Y/N," your boss finally drew your attention back to him. Your hands were shaking as you tried to think of something.
"I- We- We should call the police," you suggested, your mind a mess. "O-Or Lucas, he's your bodyguard, right?"
"Why? What's going on?" asked Yoongi. He glanced behind the wall just enough to see a guy now pacing outside before you pulled him back.
"Who's that?" demanded your boss.
"Some psycho who followed me from the subway," you explained quickly and took a glimpse of him before hiding behind the wall again. "I can't believe this, it's been like six, seven hours." You clutched your hand to your chest as anxiety gripped at your lungs.
"What?" asked Yoongi. His frown grew even deeper and darker. Something shifted in his pitch black eyes that you had never seen before. Thoughts stormed behind his irises and he realized why you were behaving strangely when you first got to the office.
"I'm calling the police, this is insane," you concluded and grabbed the phone from your purse.
"Don't," ordered your boss. "I'll take care of this."
"What? No, you can't! What if he's dangerous or something?" you hurried and grabbed Yoongi's hand again.
"He's not dangerous," said Yoongi as he watched your fingers wrapped around his much larger hand.
"How do you know?" you shook your head.
"Because I am." His eyes met yours for just a moment as his dark quiet words sent shivers down your spine. Although you had only worked for him for a month, you knew your boss's wasn't just an ordinary businessman. He was far too young to have built such a fortune on his own and to have others respect him like they did.
You watched as Yoongi walked outside, not a hint of hesitation in his step. The guy from the subway turned around when the front door opened, expecting to see you there. The horrifying smile dropped from his lips at the sight of your boss. They were talking but you couldn't hear them. The guy's shoulders tensed around his neck like that of a trapped animal. Suddenly he launched forward and threw his fist but missed miserably. Yoongi pulled his hands out of his pockets in less than an instant. His fists flew into the man's face like a flash of lightning, again and again and again, as if he had done this a thousand times. He was in complete control of his body and the guy's.
The man staggered, holding his jaw in his hands as blood sprouted from his cupped hands. You gasped as you saw his face mashed from just a few hits. He somehow picked himself up and scrammed like rat. Your boss watched him disappear into the shadows before his gaze fell to the floor. He slowly turned to you, finding your big eyes staring at him. Yoongi's lips were parted slight as he waited for you to come outside.
"Why did you do that?" you whispered as you came to him. "I could have called the police." Your gaze dropped to Yoongi's bruised hands and you noticed he was wearing brass knuckles on one of them. You looked up at him astounded.
"If you had called the police, they wouldn't have kept you safe," said Yoongi, his voice deep and quiet as he towered over you. "Now, you're safe."
Hoseok
You clutched to your purse as the elevator took you up countless of floors. You were bouncing your knees. If you managed to solve this crisis quickly, maybe you could still make it to some of your friend's birthday dinner.
The elevator bell chimed and you made your way to your desk but the office door was propped open and there were people talking. You opened the door and looked inside. There was your coworker from the legal branch of the company and another even higher up the chain from the IT sector. The latter was explaining something to your boss, whose arms were crossed over his broad chest and his eyebrows hung in a deep frown that made you want to turn on your heel and go home. Just as you were about to return to your desk instead, his dark eyes flashed at you.
"Good, you're here," said Mr Jung. "Finally, someone with a brain," he glared at his other two employees and threw a stack of papers on his desk. An invisible blush crept to your cheeks at a compliment from someone as demanding as Jung Hoseok.
"You can go," he dismissed the other two coldly. They looked down in shame and headed towards you as you were still waiting by the door. "And Han," said Mr Jung at his legal expert. She turned around wide-eyed. "I don't want to see you here Monday morning."
"But sir-" she tried to protest and apologize but your boss gave her a look so dark you couldn't help but feel sorry for the woman. Your colleagues left and you came in and closed the door behind you. Mr Jung sat down and gathered the stack of documents. When he looked up, his current of thoughts was interrupted by your outfit. His dark eyes fixed on your stunning black dress.
"What happened?" you asked, trying to get the work started as soon as possible.
"You need to retype and edit this," said your boss and handed you a stack of documents. You took it instinctively yet as realization hit you frowned.
"Retype it?" you shook your head; there must have been fifty pages. "Shouldn't there be a digital version that we can edit?"
Mr Jung watched your eyes and for the first time since you started working at the company, you noticed how tired he looked. Suddenly you realized it wasn't only your Saturday night that was ruined but his as well.
"There was, but it's gone," said Mr Jung and stood up. "I need you to do this," he almost asked, which was another first. You were so taken back by the gentleness of his voice that you could only nod. You turned around to go to your computer when he called you back.
"Use my desk, you're going to be here for a while," he said and grabbed a laptop from one of the drawers. "And remind me to get you a different chair." He sat down on his office sofa and fired up his laptop as you stared at him puzzled.
You wondered how he knew that your desk chair, although aesthetically very pleasing, was terribly uncomfortable after a few hours of work. You had to stretch your neck several times just to make it through the day.
You sat down in your boss's leather chair, feeling utterly bizarre taking a seat at his desk. You started working on transcribing the text, however, and left out the marked places which needed to be edited later. An hour went by and then another and soon you realized you weren't going to see your friends not even for a minute.
Resigned, you got up. "I'm getting some coffee, do you want some?" you asked your boss although your tone was much more casual than normally; probably since it was in the middle of the night.
Mr Jung looked up from his laptop. "Thank you," he agreed and reached for his wallet.
"It's okay, I've got the company card," you offered a small smile which he returned to your surprise.
You went to the 24/7 cafe which was just down the street from your office. You grabbed two extra strong iced Americanos and left the barista a tip, if nothing else, as a gesture of solidarity that you both had to work that night.
"What's such a pretty lady doing alone at night?" asked a man the moment you returned to the street. A sharp gasp caught in the back of your throat as you jumped around and came face to face with the stranger.
"Please leave me alone," you said as politely as you could and hurried towards the office but he had no intention of leaving you alone.
"Where are you going? You should keep me company," the guy insisted and grabbed your wrist. You managed to slip and away and ran to your office that was just around the corner. You let yourself in with the keycard and the door locked behind you. The man staggered outside, clearly drunk.
You fixed your dress in the elevator as tears forced into your eyes. This was far from the first time a man harassed you on the street and you doubted it was the last time. You managed to calm down by the time you reached the executive floor although your mind couldn't return fully to the task at hand.
"Here," you placed one of the drinks on the coffee table in front of your boss. He thanked you as you put the other one on your desk and threw the paper tray away.
A loud gasp escaped your lips when you turned around and came face to face with Hoseok. His mouth was parted slightly and his eyebrows hung in a formidable frown. His perfume filled your nostrils, which was a welcome distraction from the hard liquor on that stranger's breath.
"What happened?" asked your boss, standing barely a foot away from you. You stared at him frozen.
"Nothing," you said quickly. He took your hand and your face turned pink until you looked down at the dirty handprint smeared around your wrist.
"Oh, that's so disgusting," you whispered to yourself as your stomach churned with revulsion. "This guy... He followed me to the building... It's fine, nothing happened," you explained as you grabbed some wet antibacterial wipes from your purse.
Hoseok's eyes burned through you as he watched you wipe another man's touch off your hand. His shoulders tensed and his right hand balled into a fist as it became clear to him just how much he cares about you.
You sat back down at your boss's desk when you noticed the tension of his body language. Once your gaze met his, his eyes shifted and he went back to work but something made you feel like the matter wasn't closed at all. The look on your boss's face gave you goosebumps and made your knees go soft.
Jimin
The traffic had taken you forever to get to the office. You must have cursed yourself half a dozen times for not just taking the subway instead of a taxi. But as you got out of the car, you came face to face with none other than your boss.
"I thought I was late," you breathed but your boss only stared at you. His dark frown dropped to your stunning black dress before it hesitantly returned to your face.
"I was going to a dinner... I didn't have the time to change - they said it's an emergency," you explained as blush rose to your cheeks.
Jimin nodded, his body tensing beneath his dark shirt. "Come, there're people to fire and a merger to fix," he said darkly and opened the door of the building for you. You stared at him wide-eyed but he couldn't have been more serious.
"What exactly happened?" you asked carefully as you cleared your throat. Although the elevator was fast, there were still thirty more floors to go. Your boss's perfume mixed with yours, creating an ambiance of musky notes that made goosebumps rise on your arms.
Your heart fluttered when he looked at you and for a split second your boss's eyes fell to your lips. He returned his gaze to the door and explained. There has been a massive breach of information which lead to an important merger to nearly fall through.
You had never seen your boss as livid as that evening. He was so furious that he was already calm. The people responsible for the disaster were already waiting in the conference room by the time the two of you reached the executive floor. Your stomach churned as you imagined half a dozen people getting fired but your boss wanted you in the conference room with him.
The crowd fell silent when you entered. Once Jimin sat down and you to his right, they began explaining everything that had happened and how it happened. Soon everyone was putting the blame on others until there was nothing but a mess of buzzing excuses. You noticed the look on your boss's face grow darker by the second. His eyebrows fell hard on his hard gaze and his shoulders were as tight as a bow. His eyes found yours and you both knew this meeting was pointless.
"Enough," he said. Although his voice was quiet, the room fell silent in an instant and all eyes turned to him.
"Come Monday morning, you don't work here anymore," announced your boss as he stood up and you followed. The employees faces fell. None of them seemed to be expecting it as they were all in high positions. "Now get the fuck out," he ordered in a voice so cold it gave you shivers.
Everyone scrammed except for an older man who you knew all too well. He was the head of the legal department and he always harassed you and the girls whenever you had lunch at the company's cafeteria.
"Mr Park," he said patronizingly, "Surely you can't mean-, we can fix-"
"No, Baek," said your boss, glaring down his employee, "You are going to fix this and you are going to make sure something like this doesn't happen to my company again..."
Mr Baek's tiny eyes flickered behind his glasses as your boss controlled his anger.
"Or I'm going to kill you with my bare hands," growled Jimin through gritted teeth. "Now get the fuck out of my face."
You watched as the man couldn't grasp what was happening. His face filled with fear soon enough and he scrammed through the door like the rest of them.
Jimin cursed under his breath a ran a hand through his hair. He turned around, his face changing all expression. His dark glare softened and his frown loosened.
"Come, there's still a lot of work to do."
You sat up camp in your boss's office, him at his desk and you in one of the armchairs. There were emails to be written, reports to be filed and information contained, but most importantly, you had to save the merger.
After working for hours, you couldn't help but look at Jimin. He was focused on some documents when his eyes found yours.
"What is it, Ms Y/N?" he asked, not ungently. The expression on his face softened each time he looked at you, making your skin prickle with heat.
"I'm glad you fired Baek," you confessed. Something came over you. Perhaps it was the late - or better yet early - hour or just the way Jimin made you feel safe despite it all.
He waited.
"He was always harassing the girls," you explained, not including yourself in the equation. A dark look obscured Jimin's eyes as his eyebrows fell into a frown.
"Why didn't you say anything before?" he asked, trying to be as gentle as possible although his anger was getting the worst of him.
"I wasn't sure that I could," you gave a small smile although in truth you wanted to cry. In every single one of your jobs, there were always men who thought they could take advantage of women and harass them. They could do so without consequences because the institution did nothing to prevent it. If you said something, you suddenly wasn't a team player anymore. The fact that one of such men just got fired before your eyes, even if not for that reason, made you feel slightly better about the world.
"Why not?" asked your boss. You shrugged your shoulders. Shallow tears filled your eyes but you didn't let them come close to falling. Jimin got up and took the armchair beside you. You looked at him surprised.
"If you'd told me, I wouldn't have just fired him, Ms Y/N," said your boss. You licked your dry lips as you studied his deep brown eyes and wondered if he was being genuine
"I thought I made it clear from the start," said Jimin as if he could hear your thoughts. His eyes dug deep into your soul and made your heart grow light. Words eluded him but not actions. He sat up in his chair and took your hand. You watched him as he leaned down and gently kissed the inside of your palm.
No matter how hard you tried to fight them, the tears forced back into your eyes. Jimin held your hand gently in his. A storm gathered behind his dark irises, but one not meant for you. For you, there was only adoration.
Taehyung
The traffic was insane. It was Saturday night and everyone was either going to a concert, a dinner, to the club or to the opera. You could barely convince your taxi driver to take you to the very heart of the city where the company was. He agreed to take you for extra money and you coincided, putting your company card to good use.
Your heart was beating madly as you waited for the elevator to reach the top. They didn't tell you what the emergency was over the phone and a part of you couldn't help but overthink that it was you who made a terrible mistake. You were dealing with important documents and even more important people every day.
Finally, the elevator opened and you immediately came face to face with a group of colleagues some from the legal departments, others from IT and cyber-security. None said a word but you could tell by the looks on their faces that nothing good had happened. One of them even pushed past you into the elevator and began to slam his hand at the button aggressively. You frowned at him but didn't bother getting into an argument.
Your boss's office had the lights on and the door was cracked open. Your heart in your throat and your palms clammy, you made your way to the office. You gently pushed the door open. Kim Taehyung was leaning his long arms against his desk, a glass of whiskey next to his hand. He could feel your gaze on him and looked up like the strike of a whip. The cold hard look in his eyes began to shatter as he took in your appearance.
"Is everything okay?" you asked carefully, not even knowing whether you really wanted to hear the answer. You clutched to your evening handbag and waited by the door.
By the look of your boss, he must have been one of those who went to the opera tonight. He wore a classic tuxedo but his bow tie was undone, his black jacket hanging over the armchair and the sleeves of his shirt rolled almost to his elbows.
"Come in, Ms Y/N," said your boss and stood up straight. He finished the contents of his crystal glass and gestured for you to take a seat. You did as he asked but when his eyes returned to you, a frown gathered on his face once again.
"What's wrong?" he asked just as you prepared yourself to be fired.
"I'm sorry?" you blurted, your eyes wide and your eyebrows raised.
"Were you somewhere important when you got the call?" your boss asked you as he measured your features. You stared him bewildered.
"I-I, no," you stuttered, caught completely by surprise.
"What is it then?" Taehyung insisted. His eyes were piercing you to the soul.
"I thought I was getting fired," you said at last although your statement sounded more like a question. Your boss stared at you.
"They told you you were getting fired?" he frowned even deeper as he took a seat at his desk.
"No, but I just presumed..." you shook your head and gestured towards the elevator. "I saw the cyber-security guys and they looked like... When I got the call, they said there was some sort of emergency, so..."
"You're not getting fired, Ms Y/N," said your boss. "I'm not firing the only competent person we've hired in years. I've called you to help me mend this crisis."
A soft blush crept to your cheeks at the compliment. Your chest lightened and you could finally think straight.
"I see," you licked your dry lips.
Your boss filled you in the disastrous leak of financial information caused by the IT department's negligence and in part to the legal team. The leak had to be contained as best as possible, which included preparing a statement for the press, calming down the partners involved and ensuring the minimal amount of consequences caused by this disaster.
You worked in his office together. It was much easier than shouting from one room to the other or even calling one another every few minutes. Taehyung was at his desk and you with a laptop on the sofa. You had taken off your heels, knowing full well you wouldn't leave for hours.
"Maybe you should do an interview," you suggested when you reached the part with the PR crisis.
Your boss rose his eyes to you, "I don't do interviews."
"I know, but this isn't wouldn't be a PR stunt or something, and I don't think a statement will be enough to calm down the press," you reasoned. "And it wouldn't be with just anyone. It should be with someone that has a lot of credibility."
Taehyung considered it. "Do you have anyone in mind?"
"Maybe Phia Park," you thought. She was one of the most prominent journalists at the national newspaper.
Your boss stood up and joined you on the sofa. He leaned against the headrest and closed his eyes. You hadn't noticed it before but up close you could tell he was dead tired.
"Alright," he nodded, his eyes still shut. "But I don't know how you're planning on getting through to her."
"I have her number!" you beamed, making Taehyung open his eyes. He sat up and leaned his arm along the headrest as he turned to you.
"I used to work with her for a little while," you explained. Even if it was just a part-time job during college, you did have Phia Park's contact.
"She's not as impressive as she looks," you leaned in and smiled, "But she does have a pretty good standing in the media."
"I'd say it's not easy for anyone to look impressive next to you," said your boss quietly, his gaze branded into you. Your eyes locked as a sharp breath hitched in your throat and your cheeks grew red.
"I don't know about that," you shook your head a little and smiled.
"I do," said Taehyung and the look in his eyes made sure you knew it too.
Jungkook
You got to the office as soon as you could but apparently it wasn't soon enough.
"What took you so long?" snapped your boss when you showed up in his office. He looked up from the documents scattered on his desk, a deep frown on his face. His eyes suddenly glided down your body and his breathing paused as his mouth parted slightly.
"I came as soon as I could," you protested, nearly out of breath from hurrying in heels out of all things. Clearly your evening wasn't the only one getting interrupted as you saw Jungkook in a pair of elegant black trousers and a crisp white shirt. His sleeves were rolled up almost to his elbows and exposed his tattoos whilst his suit jacket hung over one of the armchairs. Then you remembered his schedule - it was the banquet night.
"What happened?" you asked and came closer to the desk. There were so many documents you didn't even know where to look first but you surely recognized some of them.
Your boss briefed you on a major investor threatening to pull out of a deal on the grounds of some issues found in the contracts. The meeting was tomorrow followed by a classic Sunday lunch as you well-knew - you scheduled it. You didn't know how much help you would be, though, but you did as Mr Jeon asked. Each of you grabbed a stack of papers and a marker. He sat in his leather office chair and you settled on the sofa.
A part of you secretly hoped it was a minor crisis that would be solved in an hour at the latest and you could attend the dinner but the files in front of you were endless.
After an hour and hardly any work done you couldn't help but take off your heels. You massaged your sore feet with one hand and highlighted the text with the other. A pair of dark eyes fixed on you but when you looked at your boss, he simply leaned back in his chair and started working through another file.
Several hours and cups of coffee later you could barely see the letters anymore, much less read the sentences comprehensively. There were more than a dozen issues you and your boss found in the contracts that the legal team didn't notice.
"Why does this one look like it was made it AI?" you mumbled, now sitting on the floor and leaning your forearms against the coffee table. You looked at Jungkook, whose eyes were already following you. What you said actually made sense although at the same time the idea of his employees, particularly the legal branch, not doing their job properly filled your boss with rage that he managed to contain in his eyes for the time being.
You checked your wristwatch. It was coming on three in the morning.
"Somewhere you need to be?" asked your boss in a voice that was a mixture tiredness and curiosity. If you didn't know better, you could swear there was a hint of jealousy there too.
"Yes, seven hours ago," you said and leaned back against the foot of the sofa. You were done with your stack and he was revising what he had already read through.
Your eyes were soft and tired when you looked at your boss. He was tired as well no matter how much he tried to lead by example.
"Let me push the meeting - dinner maybe," you suggested and drew your boss's attention to you. He put down the documents. His gaze consumed you and made your heart beat faster but you were too tired to fight it.
"No," he said without blinking. He must have been the most stubborn man you have ever met.
You sighed and got up. You picked up your heels in one hand and the documents in the other before you walked to his desk where you set down the papers next to his.
"Am I allowed to go now?"
Jungkook stared at you, the wall in his dark eyes slowly breaking down. "Yes."
You nodded. You grabbed your purse and made for the door.
"Y/N," called your boss, making you turn around. There was a look on his face you had never seen before, a softness. "Thank you."
For a moment, you couldn't so much as breathe and your body grew weak all over. You stared at your boss and savored the gratitude in his words as well as his eyes.

Your friend Lucas got you the job when you reconnected at your high school reunion. You were fresh out of college and although this wasn't exactly your dream job, it was a good opportunity until you could find something in your line of work.
It was your first day and you couldn't have been more nervous. Your friend, who was a bodyguard for the boss, didn't say much about what the company did but the pay was more than generous so you accepted.
Jin
A lady from human resources showed you to your desk. You were at the topmost floor of the skyscraper and had to pass half a dozen security points before you reached your new job post.
"Here are all of your passwords," said the lady whose name you had sadly forgotten immediately after the introduction and handed you a sheet of paper. "You guard these with your life, you hear me? Best if you memorize them all and destroy this - don't just throw it anywhere," she warned and fixed her glasses. You nodded although you couldn't help but feel like it was all a bit excessive.
You sat down behind the large desk and signed into all of the programs listed on the sheet when suddenly a young man walked right past you and made for the office.
"Excuse me, you can't go in there," you said as you quickly jumped up and came around your desk.
The young man turned around and took in your presence. He measured your face and waited for you to look away but you were confident not to mess up your first day.
"Why not?" he asked politely. You were caught off guard for a moment by his good manners as you were prepared for nothing short of a heated argument.
His amused gaze shifted between your eyes as you collected your thoughts.
"You need to make an appointment first," you cleared your throat and stood your ground. A small smile crept into the handsome man's eyes as he watched you with an equal measure of interest as you him.
"Is Mr Kim in his office?" he asked almost quietly.
"No, he is not here at the moment but like I said, I can schedule an appointment," you restated politely with a small smile that refused to leave your lips under his warm brown eyes.
"Do you know when he will be in?"
"I don't but I can inquire if you wish," you crossed your arms over your chest, feeling like you're knocking it out of the park protecting your boss's office.
"That's okay," said the man softly as the corner of his lips curved into a small smile.
The elevator door slid open with a chime, making both of you turn around. The lady from HR rushed towards you.
"Mr Kim! I'm so sorry, I was going to speak to you about the new hire this morning but as your schedule changed-"
"It's alright, Margaret," said the man and realization hit you. Heat rushed up your neck and settled in your cheeks as your eyes grew wide and your mouth went dry.
"This is Mrs Y/N - she will be your assistant whilst Iseul is on maternity leave," said Margaret and gestured towards you.
"We've just met," said Mr Kim with a smile so warm it would have melted your heart if not for the absolute embarrassment you were suffering through. He offered you his hand and you shook it.
"I'm really sorry, Mr Kim," you said quickly as Margaret's gaze switched between the two of you in confusion.
"Nothing to be sorry for, Mrs Y/N," he said, his eyes smiling. "You were excellent. Very..." He measured you for a moment. "Confident."
You couldn't help but laugh as you felt anything but although his attempt at reassuring you helped. He smiled and you knew you were done for. Butterflies woke in your stomach and your heart felt as light as a feather.
Namjoon
It was a few minutes to eight when you walked into the company elevator. You felt good because the idea of being late on your first day of work had been stressing out you all night. The instructions sheet they gave you prior to your two-day training explicitly said in bold how Mr Kim valued punctuation and you were even going to be a few minutes early today.
You pressed the number of the executive floor and just as the door began to close, a hand caught it open. A tall young man joined you in the elevator. You offered him a smile when he entered and made some space. His eyes lingered on your smile for a moment as if it caught him off guard. His perfume filled the elevator although your fragrance had the same effect on him only moments ago. He looked at the elevator buttons but apparently you went to the same destination.
You wondered what he did in the executive floor. Maybe Mr Kim had two assistants and you would work together although that didn't seem likely given how elegantly this man was dressed and how he carried himself.
The elevator stopped halfway up and let in two more passengers: an older and a younger man.
"Ah, Mr Kim," greeted the older and made you freeze. "We've just taken care of the thing we discussed last night," he informed the man who was going to the executive floor with you. Your eyes fixed on the three figures beside you as you tried to make sense of it. You wanted to slap yourself for not googling what your boss looked like but you were sure he was an older man that you'd recognize as the CEO in an instant.
Mr Kim's gaze caught your eyes and you looked away immediately, feeling the blood rush to your cheeks. You looked ahead of yourself until the two passengers got off. The door closed and again it was just the two of you.
"You're Mr Kim Namjoon?" you asked him after a few moments. Your tone was polite and yet confident as you turned to your boss. He looked at you amused, interested and surprised at the same time although he hid those emotions as fast as he showed them.
"I am," he said, his quiet voice coming from deep within his chest.
"I'm Y/N L/N," you introduced yourself and offered him your hand in shake. "I'm your new assistant."
You could see something shift in his hard eyes although you couldn't tell what it was. He accepted your hand, losing it in his large one.
"I'm sorry for not recognizing you earlier," you said as your hands grew clammy holding your elegant bag. You were good at showing confidence even if in truth you were nervous or afraid.
"It's alright," said Mr Kim genuinely although his voice remained a deep rumble. There was only a few floors left to the top. "You came at a high recommendation from your boyfriend, Mrs Y/N."
You looked at your boss, your eyebrows raised and your body frozen.
"What boyfriend?" you blurted as your expression quickly turned into a frown. The amusement and interest returned to Mr Kim's eyes.
"Did Lucas say he is my boyfriend?" you asked in all confidence as the thought made you angry. You had your suspicions that he might have liked you but you didn't want a job offer where something was expected in turn other than friendship.
"Perhaps it's my mistake," said your boss, his quiet but powerful voice grounding you. A gentle smile gathered in his eyes.
"In any case, I am not dating anybody," you concluded calmly although no less proudly. You were sick of people, even your friends and family, telling you to find someone or try to belittle you for being single. You enjoyed being alone and you were done having others attribute your value on the basis of having or not having a boyfriend.
The elevator door opened and both of you waited for the other to exit first. When Mr Kim didn't move, you thanked him and exited although you could feel his eyes burn through your neck.
Yoongi
It was your first day at work and it's been a long time since you had been this nervous. If it were a job more closely related to your field of interest, you might have felt more confident. This was something you accepted just because the pay was excellent and there were no other opportunities presenting to you.
The HR had you in for a two-day preparation and made you learn a protocol sheet of conduct, your boss's habits and all of the dos and don'ts.
You've been at work for two hours already but the office was empty. You knew from his schedule that Mr Min was in a meeting on the other side of the city.
You looked up when the elevator door opened, revealing a gloomy and even formidable-looking young man. He walked with a purpose, deep in thought, and didn't pay you the slightest mind.
"Excuse me!" you said and jumped from your chair as you saw him march straight for the office. You weren't allowed to let anyone in without your boss's presence or explicit permission.
"Excuse me, you cannot go in there," you said and stepped in the man's path. He stopped although for a moment you thought he might just storm through you. He was someone who worked out because his frame was twice the size of yours; if he wanted to enter the office, there was really no realistic possibility of you stopping him. Still, your crossed your arms over your chest and refused to let go of the eye contact.
The young man's gaze shifted between your eyes. He was like a cat deciding whether to scratch you or grant you some of his attention.
"If you want to see Mr Min, you have to make an appointment first," you said more gently. His dark eyes studied you further until you felt a blush creep up your cheeks. For as much as you tried not to think about it, he was so handsome it made your heart flutter.
"But I'm Mr Min," he said slowly and calmly as ever as you grew aware of the small gap of space between you.
You stared at him, your eyes wide and your neck prickling with heat.
"But he's old," you blurted out loud and caused a smile in your boss's eyes. For some reason you had gotten it in your head that 'Mr Min' was an older man with graying hair and possibly a goatee.
"I'm not that old," he said slightly amused as if he did actually feel old despite his early thirties.
"But... You don't drink coffee?" you kept blurting out all the wrong things, the things you remembered from your protocol sheet. He narrowed his eyes at you no less amused. His hard, gloomy features were slowly melting and made your cheeks even redder.
"I drink coffee," said Mr Min. His voice was deep and rolled slowly.
You nodded, "But decaf and you prefer tea."
"I prefer tea now," he agreed. It was your turn to study him. His outfit, his watch and his shoes, the assured way in which he stood and spoke.
Your hands grew clammy as you smoothed down the sleeve of your elegant shirt. "I'm sorry," you began, feeling your heart rise to your throat. "I just had a... a different mental image of who my boss would be," you explained heavily and waited for him to fire you on your first day.
"I hope it changed for the better," said Mr Min, catching you off guard.
"Of course," you confirmed almost too quickly and he nodded. As he walked past you to his office, you remembered the protocol sheet again.
"Do you want some tea?"
He turned around and studied you. The smile spread from his eyes to his lips, waking up the butterflies in your stomach.
"Sure," he nodded and disappeared into his office. You shut your eyes because you knew you were done for.
Hoseok
It was your first day as the assistant in one of the most profitable companies in your area. You had barely made it to the office when the phone rang, asking coffee to be brought for your boss who was on his way. You grabbed your purse and the company card they gave you and went to the nearby cafe to grab a double-shot-of-espresso iced Americano.
"First day and already taking coffee breaks, huh?" asked a familiar voice when you returned to the company. You stopped on your tracks in the middle of the lobby and saw your friend Lucas.
"I'm just teasing you," he grinned when he saw the puzzled expression on your face. "How's it been so far?"
"Hi, sorry," you shook your head a little and smiled. "Good, they just showed me the programs and the technical stuff this morning, so..." You nodded.
"Good, great," Lucas nodded as well. "You look nice," he said and touched your shoulder before he left.
"Thanks," lingered on your lips as your face grew warm. You couldn't find the time to think twice about it, though, and hurried to the topmost floor.
You smoothed your skirt and fixed your shirt before you knocked on the door and waited for the invitation.
"Come in," said a voice absently. You entered the office, trying to keep as much confidence as you could.
"Good morning," you said politely. You almost stopped on your tracks when you saw a young man sitting behind your boss's desk although you quickly realized it was actually your boss. For some reason you had expected an older man, maybe in his fifties.
"I have your coffee, sir," you said as you set down his iced Americano. Mr Jung looked up from the documents that have been keeping his attention. His eyebrows furrowed into a frown as his eyes burned through you.
"Who hired you?" he asked and took you by surprise. You stared at him for a moment, you gaze shifting between his intense dark eyes.
"I... The human resources?" you spoke much less confidently as when you first entered the luxurious office.
Mr Jung stared at you, his frown only worsening.
"I was told your previous assistant is permanently indisposed," you tried although your intonation was still more that of a question rather than a statement.
Something shifted in Mr Jung's hard gaze. "Right," he said almost indifferently, then finally looked at you properly.
"Who are you?" he asked, not impolitely.
"I'm Y/N, Y/N L/N, your new assistant," you introduced yourself and offered your hand. "If you'll have me." You tried to lift the mood some.
Mr Jung's gaze moved to your hand then back to your smile.
"Jung Hoseok," he said as he finally accepted your hand in shake. Mr Jung stood up behind his desk. "Lucas's recommendation," he thought out loud as he narrowed his eyes at you. The attention made fever gather up your neck and cheeks.
"Yes, sir," you confirmed although something about your boss intimidated you. You thought you were confident but he was so self-assured of his actions that it made you uneasy.
His eyes measured yours once again. "Thank you, Mrs Y/N."
"Of course," you gave a small nod and a smile before you turned on your heel and hid the feverish blush that colored your face on your way out.
Jimin
You sat down at your desk and watched your superior disappear in the elevator. A breath of relief escaped your lungs followed by an even greater anxiety. Your boss wasn't in yet according to the HR lady but you still needed to take phone calls and schedule meetings.
You smoothed the white cuff of the tailored shirt you had bought especially for your first day at this job. When they gave you the instructions, dress code was one of them. It's not that you usually didn't look put together, it's just that the position made you nervous as it involved an entire protocol sheet of rules and a good outfit always spiked your confidence.
The phone rang suddenly and you answered without thinking of what you were going to say.
"Mr Park's office," you said instinctively as your face flushed and you felt as if you had never had a conversation before in your life.
The person introduced herself. She was some businessman's assistant and wanted to schedule an appointment. You turned to the computer and checked your boss's schedule.
"How's Thursday-" you suggested when suddenly you noticed a young man in front of your desk. He wore a dark suit and a crisp white shirt. His hands were resting in his pockets as he studied you.
Your eyes grew wide as you forgot your words but the assistant on the other side agreed on Thursday. A small smile of amusement crept onto the man's lips. You finished the call and got up.
"I'm Y/N," you introduced yourself and offered your hand. "You must be Mr Park."
His gaze lingered on you a moment longer before he accepted your hand. "Nice to meet you, Mrs Y/N." The smile shifted from his lips to his eyes.
"Walk with me," he invited and you followed, grabbing your tablet on the way. You told him the schedule for the day as he lead the way into his office. He took of his suit jacket and hung it over the side of a sofa before he sat down in his chair.
"And you have lunch with a Mr Min Yoongi on Thursday, 3 pm, at the Monarch," you informed him last of the appointment you just made. As you looked up from your tablet, you became acutely aware of his sharp gaze.
"I prefer Celeste," he said calmly although you could almost see him firing you on the spot. Both of the restaurants were so high-end that you couldn't help but know them as they were all over the news, however, you were also provided with a list of locations when you started the job. Both of the restaurants were on the list although Mr Park's preference must have been a recent development.
"I can rearrange it," you offered immediately, already thinking of the other man's assistant and the excuses you were going to pour out to her.
Your boss's deep brown eyes rested on you. Thoughts glistened in his irises as you waited. Your hands grew clammy and your cheeks flushed with heat.
"It's alright," he said to your surprise as the hard look in his eyes softened some. "I might start preferring the Monarch."
You didn't understand what he meant but you nodded nevertheless. As you turned around and walked out, you could feel your boss's gaze burn through you back.
Taehyung
Although your friend described the job as his boss's secretary, it seemed more like a personal assistant when they asked you to come a few days early for training. They showed you the programs and gave you an entire protocol sheet of what to say and what not to say - be it to the people over the phone or to your boss himself. You were on call most of the weekends but the salary was triple and you were hoping to save some money so it didn't bother you as much.
You looked up your boss Mr Kim Taehyung before starting today. There was only one normal photo of him that you could find and it was on the company's official web page. Everything else seemed like paparazzi photos. You were surprised of how young he was for such a position and even found an article that ranked him in the ten richest people in the country.
There was no dress code for the job although already in training you noticed everyone was extremely put together. You wore a creamy white pencil skirt and a fitted but elegant top. The outfit gave you some confidence as you were nervous for your first day.
Right at the top of the enormous building, there was your heavy desk guarding the way into Mr Kim's office. You had been in since 8 am but it was five past nine already and still it was just you. You had taken some calls and rescheduled some appointments when the elevator door opened and you saw your friend Lucas. He waited beside the elevator until your boss exited.
Mr Kim had almost walked past you when he finally noticed your presence. One of his hands rested in his pocket and there was a busy look in his eyes until his gaze fixed on you.
You stood up to introduce yourself but Lucas did it for you.
"Boss, this is Y/N," he said, drawing Mr Kim's attention to himself although his sharp gaze lingered on you a moment longer. Suddenly, you realized why everyone was so put together in the office, whether they worked on the first, tenth or thirtieth floor. No matter how hard they tried to look good, their boss would always look better, seeming as if he just walked out of a Pinterest aesthetic board.
His gaze slowly turned back to you.
"I'm Y/N L/N," you said for yourself before Lucas could go on and offered your hand. Mr Kim's body language was like that of an elegant cat - moving slowly but with so much confidence it was intimidating.
He took your hand and gave it an assured but gentle squeeze.
"Kim Taehyung," he spoke with a velvety voice that made goosebumps rise on your arms.
Lucas was about to say something.
"Thank you, Lucas," said Mr Kim instead and dismissed him. Your friend nodded and threw you a reassuring smile before he disappeared in the elevator.
"You have my schedule?" Mr Kim turned to you next. Although his voice was smooth like velvet it was also as cold as ice.
"Of course," you said quickly and grabbed your tablet before you followed him into his office. You told him the appointments for the day and informed him of the more important meetings coming up that week whilst he took a seat at his heavy desk.
"A Mr Kim Namjoon wants to see you. They suggested drinks at the Imperial, tomorrow, 9 pm?" you concluded with the most recent call.
Your boss nodded but the thoughts in his eyes were far from what you had just been discussing.
"Does your boyfriend always insist on speaking for you?" he asked, catching you off guard. Your eyebrows rose.
"W-What boyfriend?" you blurted as your gaze froze on Mr Kim and a sharp breath paused in your lungs. A blush began to creep to your cheeks.
He watched you and you him until you realized what he was implying.
"You... You mean Lucas?" your eyes widened. "We- He- He's not my boyfriend, not at all. We're friends, well, acquaintances - I barely know him," you struggled to form your scattered thoughts. Your cheeks turned fully red now and your mouth grew as dry as if you just had a spoonful of sand.
"Is that... Is that a problem?" you asked carefully as you couldn't read the expression on your boss's face. Even if he told you to pack your things, you wouldn't have been surprised.
"No." Mr Kim's eyes held you for a moment longer before you managed a nod. You took your tablet and excused yourself although you could still feel his gaze on your back as you left his office.
Jungkook
Although they had showed you how to use the programs and how to be most effective at your new job, at least in theory, you couldn't help but feel your stomach churn at the sight of the massive desk waiting for you.
"If you need anything, I'm just a phone call and seventeen floors away," said the HR lady who both interviewed as well as showed you around. "Mr Jeon is on a conference call, otherwise I'd introduce you. He knows you're here, though," she explained and you nodded gratefully.
Before long you were on your own. You signed into the programs and checked your boss's schedule. At first there were just a few phone calls to take and some meetings to confirm. Talking on the phone proved to be less intimidating once you got the hang of it. The only person you actually talked to and not texted over the phone was your mom.
When the phone sounded next, however, and the call came from inside the office, your stomach twisted into knots. Still, you picked up immediately as to not keep your boss waiting.
"They're sending in the files from Kyoto. I want them on my desk by ten," said a voice on the other side before you could even manage a hello. He hung up just as quickly, leaving you without any significant information.
You quickly checked your email if there was something Japan-related in your inbox but there were no unopened messages. Heat rushed to your cheeks as you searched frantically through the programs but you couldn't find anything remotely related to what your boss said. You checked your wristwatch, noting you only had a good fifteen minutes left to complete your task.
You called your superior from the HR office, telling her exactly what he told you. She was at your desk in no time and yet not nearly as fast as you would have hoped.
"Whenever there's something you don't know, call me immediately, okay?" she said as she leaned in front of your computer. "He gets irritated when things aren't done right."
"The Kyoto office sends things directly to Mr Jeon's email, not yours. They don't like intermediaries, especially when it comes to sensitive information."
Your superior logged into Mr Jeon's email.
"I have access to his email?" you asked perplexed.
"His work email, yes."
She warned you about not being allowed to use your boss's email to send out things, only to retrieve files. The documents began printing in the corner of the room but there were dozens of pages and it was five past ten already. Your heart was pounding as your superior rushed to solve another emergency and you waited for the printer to stop.
You fixed your white cardigan top that matched nicely with your dark skirt before you gathered the papers and quickly bound them. You grabbed the heavy pile of documents and gently knocked on the door of Mr Jeon's office.
"Come in," he said as you remembered the rules from the protocol sheet they gave you.
You turned the handle and came inside, your heart pounding against your chest. You were caught off guard when you saw how young your boss was. You had expected a man in his fifties with salt-and-pepper hair and a navy blue suit as opposed to someone not much older than you in a plain black t-shirt.
"I said I wanted them by ten," he spoke with the same measure of reprimand and annoyance. He didn't bother to raise his gaze from the papers in front of him.
"I apologize, I was... I had some technical difficulties," you said and placed the documents on the left wing of his desk. Your boss looked up as if awoken from his thoughts. His eyebrows hung in a frown as his gaze followed you.
"It won't happen again," you said and waited a moment, half expecting him to fire you on the spot. He nodded instead and got up. Mr Jeon walked around his desk and came up to you. He stopped no more than two feet away from you, studying you with his dark gaze. It took everything in you not to take a step back. Your heart was hammering against your throat as you did everything in your power to maintain eye contact. There was a ring in his lip and tattoos scattered down his arm.
"Can I get you something else?" you asked, trying to sound as confident as possible although your voice nearly cracked beneath the weight of your boss's frown.
He studied you for a moment longer before he shook his head and returned to his seat. "That's all, thank you."
You nodded and released the breath you didn't know you had been holding. As you walked outside, you could feel his gaze burn through your back but you didn't dare turn around.
A/N: Per popular request :) I felt a bit awkward writing this at first but by the end I kind of enjoyed it, ngl. Also, didn't proofread (might do it later but I have to study first).
Warnings: nothing but domestic fluff, slight postpartum depression maybe?
MASTERLIST

Jin
You took a nice hot shower whilst Jin took care of the baby for a change. Mornings were usually your thing and bedtimes were Jin's but today you really wanted to sleep in and Jin gladly offered to make breakfast and get your baby ready. He loved being a father, you knew that already during pregnancy when Jin did everything in his power to make the two of you happy and comfortable.
You took the opportunity of a free morning to style your hair and do some skincare. However, when you came to the kitchen refreshed and hungry for breakfast you were faced with a bloodbath - only that the blood was replaced by peach-strawberry mush. Jin's pearly pressed shirt was covered in stains as was the counter and the baby's chair.
"What happened?" you tried to ask seriously although you couldn't hold back the laughter for long seeing the frustrated look on Jin's face. He was holding a tiny green spoon and had been begging your son to eat the puree instead of playing with it.
"We're at war!" said Jin dramatically and got up, waving the baby spoon around. "Are you sure he even likes this stuff?"
The more Jin stared at you with his big brown eyes and his lips remained parted in distress the louder your laughter became.
"Y/N, this is serious!" boomed Jin, his golden wristwatch dripping with baby food. There was even a cracker stuck in the parting of his cuff.
You only laughed harder until your chest hurt and your cheeks were sore when suddenly your son laughed out loud as well. You and Jin froze and turned to your baby who had never done that before. Sure he smiled and made little sounds of joy but never a proper laughter.
"Oh my god," you breathed and came over. "Did you hear that?" Your lips spread into a wide smile. He did it again and kicked his tiny legs.
"Did he just laugh? Did we just make him laugh - twice?" hurried Jin with excitement. He forgot all about the peach mush and the battlefield that was once the kitchen and simply stared at his son.
"Oh my god," you breathed again and couldn't stop the tears that forced into your eyes, you were just so happy out of the sudden.
Jin looked at you with the same kind of emotion. He, in turn, couldn't hide his pride. He was beaming.
"I love you so fucking much, princess," said Jin and leaned in but you backed away.
"Jin, the baby!" you referred to his language. Any day now and the baby might start talking.
"Like you haven't slipped," grinned Jin at the all too many times a curse word escaped your mouth in the presence of your son. You blushed and Jin's grin grew even wider.
"Come here," he said as he cleaned his hands with a kitchen towel. He cupped your cheeks and pulled you into a passionate kiss that woke even the sleepiest butterflies in your stomach.
Namjoon
It's been a long time since you last saw your friends for longer than a meet-up at a cafe. Namjoon encouraged you to go out since you've been so preoccupied with the baby lately, especially with him having to pull some long hours at work sometimes. You didn't exactly mind but it did show when Namjoon was away.
It wasn't very late when you came back from drinks with the girls but there were barely any lights on in your apartment. You took off your shoes and looked around, finding Namjoon asleep on the sofa. Your baby son was snuggled against his chest with Namjoon's hands safely holding him. There was an almost empty bottle on the coffee table and a blanket over Namjoon's shoulder.
A smile rested on your lips when you came over and put away the bottle and some toys. They looked so peaceful that you didn't want to disturb them safe for a kiss on your baby's head and your husband's cheek. You sat beside them on the sofa and leaned against Namjoon's shoulder and simply savored the moment.
Namjoon loved being a father. He had been talking about having children since your relationship first got serious. The truth was that Namjoon didn't only love being a dad, he was also great at it. Petrified at first but a natural.
"When did you get back?" said Namjoon quietly as his eyes opened sleepily and his chest vibrated with how deep his voice was. You looked up at him, waking yourself up from your thoughts.
"Just before," you whispered and gave him a kiss.
"Did you have fun?" he asked.
You nodded, "I missed you." Namjoon smiled. He took the baby to his crib whilst you changed and took a shower. Namjoon came up behind you as you were putting on your skincare and wrapped his arms around your waist.
"You're making me so happy, Y/N," he spoke against your neck. "And we have the most perfect son."
You smiled and turned around but there was something melancholic in your husband's eyes.
"Are you happy?" asked Namjoon. You frowned.
"What are you talking about? Of course I'm happy," you said genuinely and cupped his face. He leaned down and rested his forehead against yours.
"If something happened to either of you, I..." Namjoon whispered quietly as his fingers dug gently into your waist.
"Nothing's going to happen," you said confidently although you knew all too well how he was feeling. You felt it too, especially during the first few weeks after you gave birth - the overwhelming fear of not being able to protect your son and realizing there was so much in life you couldn't control.
"When it was just us this afternoon, I kept thinking... I kept thinking what life would be like without you and..." explained Namjoon but didn't dare finish the sentence. He pulled you even closer and locked his arms around you.
"Oh, Joon," you whispered against his chest as your hands balled around his shirt and you held him close.
"Even when we're old and cranky and you'll be praying for me to go to a different retirement home or something, I'll still be with you," you tried to cheer him up and it worked because it made him laugh.
"No way," said Namjoon and cupped your cheeks. "Roommates for life, baby," he said and kissed you.
Yoongi
You were craving pasta for lunch but were completely out of tomatoes so you drove to the supermarket whilst Yoongi stayed at home with your daughter.
When you came home, his laptop was open and he was watching a tutorial on French braids. Your daughter was sitting between Yoongi's legs and his fingers were tangled in her dark hair.
"Okay, pause now," said Yoongi deeply concentrated on the task before him. You had to hold a hand over your lips to keep yourself from making a sound. Your daughter was in a phase where she wanted different hairstyles every day and braids were her recent favorite.
"How does she..." Yoongi talked to himself as he crossed different sections of your daughter's hair. "Ah, fu-- Flintstones," Yoongi corrected himself the last second but made your daughter turn around anyways.
"Dad, what are fill-stones?" she asked when suddenly her eyes just as big and dark as Yoongi's found you.
"Mommy!" she cheered and ran up to you. "Daddy's braiding my hair!" she reached back for her half-done braid.
"That's great! Are you having fun?" you grinned and looked at Yoongi who was still sitting on the floor. He had a look so desperate in his eyes that you couldn't help but pick up your girl and come over and give him a kiss.
"It's impossible," whined Yoongi with his deep lazy voice. "I can't understand half of what this woman is saying."
"Oh, you poor baby," you cooed and gave him a proper kiss once your daughter sat back between her dad's legs. Yoongi reached for your face and pulled your closer.
"I'll show you," you said against his soft lips.
You sat down, pulled your daughter into your lap and grabbed a comb to start over. You showed your husband how to do a French braid, going step by step. It only took a few minutes but by the time you were done Yoongi was staring at you as if you had just successfully performed a heart surgery in front of his eyes.
"You're incredible," said Yoongi in all seriousness but you couldn't help but laugh. "You have no idea how much I love you."
You smiled against Yoongi's lips as he kissed you over and over again.
"Mommmmmy." Your daughter was trying to get your attention but Yoongi wanted you for a moment longer and that made you smile even wider.
"Daaaaaaddy, what are fill-stones?" she tried Yoongi this time and you both laughed.
"Flintstones," he grinned. "It's a cartoon."
"A cartoon?" she cheered and threw her little arms around Yoongi's neck.
And so, you had no choice but to watch old reruns of The Flintstones, snuggled up on the sofa. You noticed Yoongi giving your a strange kind of look here and there. His mouth was slightly parted and a mysterious smile rested his his eyes.
"What?" you whispered because your daughter had fallen asleep.
"Let's have another baby," said Yoongi just as quietly but you heard him loud and clear. The proposition made your heart stop and your stomach jump with excitement. You would be lying if you said you hadn't thought of it yourself on a number of occasions.
"I thought you'd never ask," you said. Yoongi leaned in and kissed you, gently at first and then deepened it, his hand caressing your cheek.
Hoseok
You had just put your baby son down for his afternoon nap when you found Hoseok sitting on the living room floor and your three-year-old daughter putting butterfly hairpins into his short hair.
"I like the pink," she mumbled as she took a flower pin from her box and put it in Hobi's hair. Both had an identical look of concentration on their faces. Your husband looked like a demanding client in the salon, wanting to get his money's worth, whilst your daughter was a seasoned stylist that treated hair like art.
"I like this one," said Hobi gently and pointed at the light blue ribbon. His eyes were soft when he watched his daughter unclip the pin and study his hair as to where to place it. He leaned down so that she could reach the top of his head.
"Does it look nice, princess?" asked Hobi and smiled. Your daughter grinned and nodded eagerly. He pulled her into his lap and gave her a big hug. She was sleepy, you both could tell although she also wanted to play. It only took a few seconds for her to nuzzle against her daddy's chest and her breathing to calm down.
Hoseok noticed you standing by the door frame and smiled. You watched him as he carried your daughter into her bedroom and tucked her in for a nap. He closed the door quietly and then you both went to the living room.
"I love your hairstyle Mr Jung," you said as you gathered the box with accessories.
"Thank you Mrs Jung," said Hoseok and pulled you down onto the sofa next to him. He still loved the sound of it although it's been a few years since you married.
Hoseok kissed you when suddenly you smiled and your smile spread into a wide grin and your grin burst into laughter. You just realized who he reminded you of.
Hoseok pulled away and watched you with surprise and amusement.
"What?" he asked when you couldn't stop laughing. Every time you had a look at him, another fit would fill your lungs.
"You... You..." you tried to catch your breath. "You look like your mom."
Hoseok stared at you exasperated and playful at the same time, outraged by your comment.
"Y/N, I swear..." he said and took out the pins from his hair. You helped him but his reaction only made you laugh some more. Once you put the box away, Hoseok pulled you to his lap, your legs straddling his hips.
"I can't believe you," grinned Hoseok and shook his head a little. Your arms were wrapped around his neck and his fingers dig softly into your waist. You leaned your forehead against his and slowly came in for a kiss and then another and another.
"You have no idea how happy you're making me," purred Hoseok against your soft lips as his hands drew shapes against your hips.
Jimin
Your life changed completely after you and Jimin had a baby. It was already turned upside down during your pregnancy but now that you had a third member of the family, life really changed in a number of ways; your sleeping schedule being one of them.
You had only just managed to fall asleep when the sound of the baby crying woke you up. You blinked your eyes open just when Jimin sat up and caressed your head.
"I'll go," he whispered and kissed your temple, "Go back to sleep."
You reached out to Jimin and squeezed his hand gratefully. You fell asleep almost immediately and when you woke up, you didn't know whether five minutes or five hours had passed. You were tired but you couldn't sleep no matter how you turned. It was dark, only the dim light from the hallway guiding your way as you got up. You peeked into the nursery where Jimin was sitting on the floor, his back against the crib, feeding the baby a bottle.
"You're so beautiful... The most beautiful girl in the world," Jimin talked to the baby in small gentle whispers. "You'll have everything, I'll do everything to keep you and your mommy happy..."
It took Jimin a moment to realize you were standing against the door frame and you couldn't help but notice a blush creeping up his cheeks. You smiled with Jimin and sat down beside him. Your eyes were heavy when you realized it could not have been more than twenty minutes of sleep that you squeezed in since the baby's cry.
You caressed your daughter's tiny foot as you were leaning against Jimin's warm shoulder. The smile never left his face and it was a smile that spread even to his eyes and the rest of his beautiful features.
"Are you okay?" asked Jimin and kissed your forehead. You nodded and hid a yawn behind your hand.
"Are you sure?" he asked again as he put away the empty bottle and hugged the baby to his shoulder.
You looked up at Jimin as he got up and patted your daughter's back. His happy eyes watched you carefully. A sad look filled your gaze but it was a look of happiness so great that it made your heart break.
"I love you," you told Jimin once you stood up and he placed your sleeping daughter back into her crib.
"I love you too," he said and cupped your cheeks. Jimin pressed a kiss to your forehead, your cheek and finally your lips.
Back in bed, you scooted closer to your husband whose arms were already waiting for you. Your hands slid around Jimin's torso and you hid your face in his warm chest.
Taehyung
You went for a quick grocery store run as neither you nor Taehyung noticed that you were completely out of milk, bread and just about everything else that could be used to prepare a decent meal. Taehyung offered to drive to the store but you needed to get some air. You loved your baby and you loved being a mom but sometimes it could be very overwhelming. Here and there you couldn't help but miss the days where there was no one depending on you and you could be spontaneous with your decisions. You couldn't even remember the last time you and your husband went on a proper date. It was sometime before every one of your clothes was stained with baby mush and your sleep wasn't interrupted with the baby's cries because she was teething.
You grabbed the things you needed from the supermarket, staring longingly at the wine section as it reminded you of romantic late-night dinners with Taehyung. You sighed and paid for your things.
"I'm back," you called and closed the front door behind you. Tae appeared in front of you immediately.
"I'll take that," he said and took your heavy bags to the kitchen.
As you looked around you couldn't believe your eyes. The apartment was like new. Tae had been busy lately with work and you were much on your own save for when your mom came to help here and there. The clothes were in the washing machine, the tables were sparkling clean and the bed was made.
You found your little girl changed as you picked her up. When you returned back to the kitchen, Tae was making French toast and the groceries were already put away. You fastened your beautiful baby in her chair and wrapped your arms around your husband next. You pressed your cheek against his warm back.
"I missed you so much, Tae," you spoke quietly, making him turn around. He pulled you closer and leaned his chin on top of your head.
"I'm sorry I wasn't here this week," said Tae with a voice you hardly ever heard from him. He was completely serious and not even remotely playful.
You looked up at him.
"It's never going to happen again, I promise," he referred to the long hours he spent at the office and the short trip he had to take to Singapore.
"It's your job," you said, knowing perfectly well that even people with conventional jobs had to take business trips or stay at the office longer.
"I'll have someone else take care of that part of my job from now on," said Tae and leaned in for a kiss. Your fingers disappeared in his shirt as you stepped on your tiptoes.
"My parents are taking D/N for a couple of days," murmured Tae against your soft lips, "And we're going away for the weekend."
You looked up at Tae and saw his playfulness return. Your heart fluttered with excitement. It's been too long since the two of you were alone. Having a baby, no matter how both of you loved her and loved being parents, changed your life upside down.
Tae couldn't hide the smirk off his face when he saw the look in your eyes. He took a bite of one of the strawberries you bought and let the baby have a bite as well. Then he took another bite himself but your daughter's big dark eyes wanted the sweet fruit back in the most adorable way as she reached her tiny hands towards her dad.
Tae grinned and grabbed some more strawberries and placed them on the chair's tray. He caressed the baby's soft wispy hair and kissed her head.
Jungkook
It was one of the first sunny weekends that spring and both you and Jungkook as well as your two kids couldn't wait to go outside for a family outing.
You packed some snacks and a blanket for a picnic whilst your husband made sure your kids were dressed and ready for the park. There was a spot just outside the city that not many knew about but it was one of your family's favorite places to escape to.
By the time you reached the pond and the trees, the sun had warmed the earth and your bodies. Jungkook spread out the blanket as you took off your cardigan and your three-year-old daughter and five-year-old son waited impatiently to go play.
"Daddy, can we go play?" asked you son with a small pout a
"Go play, but take care of your sister," said Jungkook sternly before he squeezed your son's hand reassuringly and gave him a smile. S/N nodded and took his sister's hand as they hurried towards the trees.
"Be careful! And stay close!" you called out but they weren't paying any attention.
"They're just like you," you sighed and teased your husband. Jungkook stared at you offended at first then couldn't help but grin as you sat down beside him. He kissed your bare shoulder and you leaned against his chest.
"Thank god we made it out of the house," you murmured as your eyes closed and the sun warmed your skin.
"I know," said Jungkook against your neck, giving you goosebumps. His gaze reached towards your kids now and then, making sure they weren't playing too close to the water. Although he was the big bad wolf at work, Jungkook lived for moments like this. For a long time he wasn't sure whether he even wanted to have kids but now he wouldn't have it any other way. Jungkook loved you so much and he loved you for giving him two perfect kids that reminded him of you every day although in turn they reminded you of him.
"Maybe we should have another one," you murmured as you listened to your daughter giggle at something silly that her brother did.
"What?" blurted Jungkook. Your words made his heart skip a beat. His gaze reached to the kids and his stomach gave a squeeze when he saw D/N stumble and fall. He was ready to jump up but S/N helped her get up as if nothing happened and they continued to play.
Jungkook's heart weighed heavy with the love he had for them, for all of you. If something happened to any of you, he wouldn't be able to bear it.
"It's a big decision," you said after Jungkook didn't say anything but couldn't hide the disappointment in your voice no matter how hard you tried.
You held Jungkook's large calloused hand on your lap and traced his tattoos.
"Not to me," he said out of the sudden and pressed a confident kiss against your neck. "We'll have a dozen babies if that's what you want," he said when you faced him and kissed your lips. You smiled into the kiss as your tummy swirled with butterflies.
"Maybe not a dozen," you said as you wrapped your arms around Jungkook's neck, "But three would be nice."
