We rode: Mechanicsville to Yorktown - 84mi (Posting late because I can) Well I guess this is the end of the road! We made it across the country. Now all we have to do is head to Norfolk and get our bikes shipped home and wait for our plane! I am so excited to be home! It's hard to explain the feeling of accomplishment this brings me. Working for a single goal for over two months and finally being able to sit back, relax, and think about what we did. It's nice. When I look back at it I want to remember it wasn't all easy, there were days when I didn't think the end was ever going to come. I laughed, cried, screamed and threw things. Luckily enough I made it all in one piece. I'm so thankful for the kind people that have helped us out and supported us, not only from home but the ones we have met along the way. Knowing that people are rooting for you makes things a lot easier :) I'm signing off of this blog, until my next adventure.. 2015 - Biking down the west coast with a good friend of mine (Kevin) from Canada to LA. Once we get to LA we're going to ride over to Mt. Whitney and trade our bikes for backpacks and hike 200 miles on the John Muir trail up to Yosemite. Let's see how this goes! Trip total: 3939mi

We rode: Charlottesville to Mechanicsville - 84mi ACA maps: 114mi Google maps: 84mi Thank you google! We rode way less than we needed to and put ourselves ahead of schedule for tomorrow. 81 miles until Yorktown! Can't believe I rode my bike this far. I don't know if it had even completely hit me yet! Today: super easy - really bad rain at the end - doesn't matter, we're almost done! Trip total: 3855mi

We rode: Lexington to Charlottesville - 82mi We had our last big climb of the trip today! Done with the Appalachians for good. The climb up blue ridge was pretty intense, we have been told by multiple people that it's the hardest climb of our whole route. It was a steep climb to the top with a very dissatisfying downhill (at first). After the second climb (not nearly as steep) the downhill was AMAZING. The road was smooth and it felt like we were going downhill forever. The only downside of the day was the lack of water we passed. I lucked out and noticed a restroom to grab a drink, but the boys didn't see it and ran out of water. Luckily a nice guy let us all use a spicket on the side of his house. The last 20 miles weren't bad, it just seemed like the day was going by so slow which is always annoying. We stopped by a peach orchard and I got a fresh peach frozen yogurt milkshake (incredible). We are hoping the weather isn't too bad tomorrow because we have a good 97+ miles to ride. Fingers crossed! Trip total: 3771mi

We rode: Troutdale to Lexington - 95mi I didn't write a lot because I felt super tired and grumpy. We are getting so close though! I'm buying my plane ticket tonight. So weird. The terrain has been pretty easy, just little rolling hills. Unfortunately I feel like my legs are super weak for some reason. Is it possible I'm getting weaker? That doesn't even make sense. Maybe I'm just tired. After 60 miles today the heat really got to me and I started riding pretty slow. Either way, I made it to Lexington in one piece. If there is one thing I've realized, it's that the temperature changes my mood more than anything else. I overheat way too easily. Trip total: 3689mi (3 days to Yorktown)
