Is it true blaise was canonically (accidentally) trans in the German translation? I keep seeing that he was referred to as "bella" for the first few books with she/her pronouns and then they switched to Blaise with he/him.

Since nobody knew Blaise’s gender when he was mentioned in the first book (because he’s mentioned in all of one line) early translators just kind of guessed - I believe later on JKR clarified that he was male to translators, but that might not have stopped early translators making mistakes that leaked into the books.

That said, fuck JKR, Blaise Zabini trans I guess
