MTV3 interview with Pekka Eric Auvinen's parents
So idk if this has already been translated but I noticed there are a lot of Pekka fans on here and since I'm Finnish I decided I'd be a nice lad and translate some stuff for y'all. (I only translated one of the interviewer's questions but I might do more).
Interviewer: What did you think about the Kauhajoki shooting when you heard about it?
Pekka's mother: It did increase my worry tremendously, worry about how the young people are doing, especially young people, because this one was also a young man and he possibly had some similarities with Pekka. Pekka too was a well-behaved and sweet guy, and no one could ever believe he could do such a thing.
Pekka's father: After Kauhajoki again they started to unpack this completely wrong, so they started to sort out the aftermath and not the reason. So Matti Saari had a weapon and Pekka Eric had a weapon. It's not the weapon that's the reason, it's just the consequence of what has happened before.
Pekka's mother: Is the school world too strict, are there too many pressures for young people, is our entire society too hungry for honor, too hard. Should we loosen up on some things, should we let go of the goals, do we have to compete so much, to always strive for more, more well-being, more this and that which is nice.
should i translate more

Okay, I admit I hate solomon because I see myself in him, and it's embarrassing.
I'm not gonna lie, I hate my life and see myself going nowhere. Iran can go ahead and strike me down!
The scariest scene from the movie elephant was when Alex was absolutely raw dogging that milk straight from the carton.

Okay, now the Nikita being sent to a psychiatric prison thing got me thinking: Would you rather be sent to a normal prison or a psychiatric prison?
I'm choosing psychiatric because I think a sane person is more unpredictable than an insane person, plus the more violent patients are usually isolated or restrained. You're medicated, and that kind of mentally removes you from the situation. It is still prison, and your freedom is taken away, so it sucks regardless, but it is a little more bearable, in my opinion.

"These teenagers are locked on each other, because they fit together perfectly. Anoufriev is a leader who wanted to be understood at a glance. Lytkin is a performer who dreamed of approval and recognition."
Got to thinking about the academy maniacs again. I'm mostly into politically motivated cases, but the background and relationship between Nikita and Artyom is so intriguing. Both started killing because of misanthropy, though their premises are different. Nikita was shy and bullied and didn't know how to defend himself. Artyom was an arrogant little shit and received pushback for his behavior. He allegedly was beat up by some armenians, but it turns out its because he was talking shit about their family online. One of his teachers said he refused to teach a class with him in it. Dude is clearly an overzealous troll. The leader of the skinhead group said Artyom had different views and seemed to just hate people in general. So, of course, they come together, and their misanthropy encourages their thoughts of violence, and they use the likes of dnepropetrovsk maniacs and Alexander Pushkin as inspiration. From what I understand, Artyom would attack with a mallet from behind, and Nikita would finish them off with a knife. Artyom uploads "one man on homeless woman," as it's known now, online. (I can handle crime scene photos, but that video made me cringe bad, MY GOD NIKITA?!?). Nikita's dumbass forgets to delete the footage on his uncle's camera, and his uncle turned it in to the police. 6 people killed, 12 injured. Artyom pins the whole thing on Nikita (smh). Nikita claims it was a group effort. Artyom receives a life sentence. Nikita nearly misses a life sentence for being 17 at the time of the murders, so he instead receives 24 years. Nikita gets diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder (it has never been officially said what it was, but I've seen some people speculate it was schizotypal personality disorder, and i agree). They plan to transfer him to a psychiatric prison, but he ruins it for himself and attacks another inmate in hopes of receiving a life sentence so he could be sent to the same prison as Artyom. He instead gets sent to a prison with a history of abuse towards its prisoners and is bullied (some people claim he was raped and it's not true. It's the result of a mistranslation). Nikita commits suicide in prison by slitting his wrists, but it's claimed that he threatened the guards that he would harm himself if he was not sent to the same prison as Artyom, so he likely didn't intend to kill himself. He was only halfway through his sentence, though I believe even if he did live, he could not live without Artyom (not in a gay way lol) and likely would've killed himself regardless. He was very attached to Artyom and couldn't adjust to society beforehand, so there's no way he could adjust now that he's known as a murderer.
Happy birthday Pekka <3
