I am overwhelmed, I have much to face, to come in sense with — things that are not my choosing. Of this feeling, I recognise I am unable to cope with being out of control. Out of control of my own and out of control of others feelings and thoughts.

please tell me someone reading this is a senior doing the IB diploma rn. im beyond stressed and submitting college applications too. y’all what even is this im literally 17 years old let me be :(

today I went for a university talk at my school and it honestly shocks me how quickly time has flown by. one minute we’re in the fourth grade having the time of our lives, spending our summers under trees, sipping ice cold lemonade with our best friends. Bad mood? No problem, just grab your swimmers and run down to the pool. Now the only time we have time to grasp some fresh air, if we have time, is late evenings. The amount of pressure coming from different parties is crazy and we often have certain ‘personas’ which make us act, or think like different people. This is known as stress, the stress we get from wanting to achieve a perfect life, the stress we get from different people asking us where we wish to apply for university. The excitement is one factor, but now we have to balance all of that with our other problems - the workload, boy problems (or girls), judgemental characters of people you thought had your back, but instead made a hole. There’s no where to run or to hide, so you get under your covers and hold on tight to your sheets but suddenly it’s 7am and you alarm rings because it’s time to go to school. It’s a reoccurring cycle - school, homework, study, sleep, repeat.
