Nerdy loser :3

The main character is thrust into this interesting and amazing new world, possibly magical, and they often describe the environment and the people around them. They never seem to have the time to talk about themselves yet as the book goes on, you realize they never even think particularly hard about themselves or their past.

The readers widely regard it as bad writing, claiming the main character is just there to have a second-person view of the actually developed and interesting characters, and that the main character is totally nothing-burger.

That is, until about the end of the book, where the main character is in a calm conversation with someone else, and it's about to "fade to black" when the MC suddenly has a thought. If the other person was talking about like, their home. And the MC thinks, "wait, where do I live?"

Then boom, cliffhanger until the second book comes out.

The second book starts off maybe the day after or a few days after from where the first book ended, and it shows the main character actually freaking the fuck out, 'cause why do they not remember anything about themselves except their name and maybe their age?

The second book, as opposed to the first book, mainly focuses on the main character trying to keep their amnesia hidden, trying to find out what caused it, and trying to find out who they really are, letting the reader see the MC's own reaction to their backstory along with finding it out themselves
